No, I use stratum port 3333
without --difficulty-multiplier 0.00390625 only

miner not finding shares

with --difficulty-multiplier 0.00390625

Yes, you need to use --difficulty-multiplier 0.00390625 for it to work correctly afaik, same as if you were mining groestlcoin.

You are very lucky. I try to solomine with 160Mhs groestl, and after 12 hours I got 4 blocks.  Huh
Give up solomine forever because I'm just too unlucky.
Apparently you did not get lucky.

What are you using for config settings on miners?

What's interesting is I don't think the block found in this image was accepted, I don't show a transaction with that time stamp in my wallet.

I hope your wallet is unlocked, if it's encrypted (Overview page of your wallet) - otherwise your wallet won't accept the rewards.

yes it is unlocked

what i don't understand is the counter shows 14 transactions, but only 13 DMD and none immature (re: the image above)

Similar here....I have 2 more transactions than diamonds. Maybe they orphaned during confirmation? And the wallet drops orphans without any record? (no record needed really for a coin-that-never-was)  My quess anyways......

@DrReaper:
well then be happy that you're lucky
some bugs are just ridiculous. as if noone tested this at all.

I finally got solo mining to work - it doesnt like notepad++. you need to use standard notepad.exe
thank you guys in here for the help! please pin this somewhere so people see

difficulty is way too high now though. and I can't check if the wallet accepts eventually found blocks at all. but it looks like it's mining.

GJ m5j0r. Tech things can be very fussy. One wrong ',' here or '.' there, or file named not exactly perfect, or location wrong, etc etc....any little thing off, and nothing works. Like HR, I'm involved with IT, and have run into simple things not working a gazillion times, and often the answers are just subtle changes. But until you find the problem it can be very frustrating. (Just imagine how the devs feel right now trying to find/fix some last bugs....)

If you can see your hashrate, you're mining. You won't see any accepts, except for when you find a block (then you see accepts for the block). And if you're hashing, your wallet should accept blocks fine. The fact that you're hashing shows that your miner has contact to the wallet, and the wallet to the network. You should be good! (other than possibly optimizing your rig for the new algo, which I'm still trying to learn myself)

Of course I have all my card settings removed as thats indivdual for each person.
This way has worked for everycoin I solo mine - and I prefer solo mining.  Some do fail and I give up and move on, but not all.

Good luck and let us know how you go.

Thank you for that helpful response!!
I thought the server=1 line in the conf was enough - I didn't append the -server to the shortcut.
Now I get this message though:

The file exists in the folder and looks like that:
Code:
rpcuser=somesecretuser
rpcpassword=themegaultranooneknowpassword
rpcport=17772
addnode=213.229.0.41
addnode=193.77.159.166
addnode=113.168.158.16
server=1
listen=1
daemon=1
rpcallowip=*
gen=0
Do you see anything obvious that I can't find right now?

add this line:

     addnode=193.68.21.19

right above the addnode entries you already have. I believe that's the 'permanent' node that was set up recently.
I didn't have to use the -server switch on the shortcut (try removing it now, see how it goes..).
I also don't have 'gen=0' in my diamond.conf and it works ok, so maybe try removing that too, to see what result you get.
Other than that, it looks identical to the conf i'm using.

could someone please tell me exactly how to solo mine?
It just does not frickin work and I'd at least like to try my luck until the damn pools work again.

diamond.conf in WHICH folder?
diamond.conf or diamondcoin.conf?

etc.

Please?

diamond.conf is the proper name

diamond.conf belongs in your C:/Users/<YourUserName>/Appdata/Roaming/Diamond

the diamond.conf file should be made/saved with Notepad, not Wordpad or Word.

Waddya know...CW finally flagged their ticker as having possibly wrong Diff listed, and moved it to the bottom of the list (tho it still shows that 6Mh/s can profit $60/day.....).

Thanks to anyone else that may have reached out to them. I did again myself, went out to check machines, and came abck to find it almost fixed.

And it's now EXACTLY 4:20   Smiley
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POT] PotCoin Launches Today 01/21 @ 4:20 on: April 06, 2014, 07:15:23 PM
Would be nice if CoinWarz would fix their tracker for POT. It's showing current difficulty as 5, when it's actually 30. So then based on the 5 difficulty, they calculate a rediculous (fairy-tale) profit number, and number of days to earn a BTC equiv (1/4 the time of any other alt....all based on the faulty diff number...)

Been this way for at least a couple days, hence the abnormally high/spiking network hash rate (looks like multi-pools are hopping in based on the WRONG low Diff # being publicized at CW).

Are they getting their Diff # from a pool that still hasn't updated and is on the wrong fork of the recent hard-fork? Obviously this isn't any error of the POT devs, so I'm not questioning them, or complaining at them....just curious where CW gets such a wrong f'ed up number from......and aggrevated that they're (CW) messing up mining for a lot of us by attracting leech-and-dump multi's (in the end the multi's won't make shit, but it hurts us all in the process)

I've already pinged them (CoinWarz) a couple times on it, but no change. Would be good if as many people as possible start flooding them (CoinWarz) with feedback telling them to fix their broken POS ticker.

(Pardon any profanity. I did smoke one but this still pisses me off  Roll Eyes I don't like people messing with my POT  Wink )

http://blissdevices.com/tech-specs/

"Scryptr also provides a high level of flexibility to support mining of newer coins that are “fairer” to miners such as Vertcoin by allowing configurable Scrypt parameters. Also, the chip’s PCIe interface enables faster and greater data transfer speeds, if and when new algorithms require more network data."

http://www.reddit.com/r/scryptmining/comments/20x6r0/bliss_devices_announces_new_prices_on_scrypt/cg8xcd6

"Our chip supports configurable N parameters which allows it to mine N-factor scrypt up to N=262144, which is still about 35 years away."

...so when can we expect the change of PoW?

Are they even real ?
Why are you so keen to change something that is not yet broken ?

Hidden conspiring ASIC company ?  Roll Eyes

That looks like BS. Would be very suprised if any product ever comes from them.

Now that KnC is bringing a real high powered script miner to market on a 3-6 month pre-order only, expect 20 other 'companies' to spring up selling imaginary script miners on a pre-order basis, only to disappear with everyone's money. Just like in the BTC-asic space, in the script-asic space we'll now start seeing that for every company that delivers a product there will be 10 others with no intentions of delivering anything after they take people's pre-order money.

The only way to fight asics is to stay on top, more frequent forks, make some system to handle forks better, get users to expect forks and know what to do.

Over and out.

If the wallets could be made to check for updates upon launching (or every so often while running), that would help the average 'user' a lot.

Dunno if a pure auto-update would be the best idea. But at least if the wallet checked if an update is available, and notified the user, perhaps also offering the option to 'download and install update now'. This would be sweet!

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POT] PotCoin Launches Today 01/21 @ 4:20 on: March 30, 2014, 02:38:49 AM
Hello everyone! I am fairly new to PotCoin and Bitcoin.  Recent news has me asking a few questions... I am a merchant looking into accepting PotCoin within my 3 dispensaries I own. I have had many 'cash' problems and I am tired of dealing with the banks. I read several articles online over the past week and have begun doing a lot of research on PotCoin.

Has there been any official PotCoin or CryptoRush statements regarding the PotCoin that was stolen? About 7.5% of the current circulated PotCoin were involved in this hack I think this needs to be addressed by someone...

Part of my research has been figuring out the stability of the coin...
* 18+million coins have been mined by a group called scryptominers who are notorious for just dumping coins
* 4+ million coins were hacked

As a merchant looking at PotCoin for future I see 40%+ of the current PotCoins as what you guys call 'dumpable' and is currently apparently being seen within the market... What kind of advantage is there to using PotCoin vs. BitCoin? How can there be ANY stability if 40%+ of the market is just waiting to dump their coins?

PLEASE correct me if I am wrong I am just trying to understand how PotCoin can be beneficial to my businesses under such volatility.

The 18 million coin figure may seem like a big number, but what is the total worth of it all currently in USD? I believe they're currently worth approx 0.6 cents each, which would make them worth 108k in total. That's just a tiny fraction of the daily transactions going on daily in the US legalized states alone.

And if the total # of coins in existance right now is just the (145000 blocks)(420/block)= 60.9 million coins, which @ 0.6 cents each is 350,000 USD current value. That's still just a tiny fraction of daily business in the (legalized) industry.

So to think......What would happen if a lotta folks in just one county in Washington state or Colorado started using this tomorrow for 420-related commerce? Would there be enough coin at present value? Or would the coin price have to go up due to simple supply/demand. The more adoption, the more $ value the limited # of coins would have to represent. Miners would then get a better price for new coins, yet still wouldn't be able to mine them fast enough to cause large downward pressure (mining rate is a fixed # of coins per day). So personally I'd guess that, more adoption of the coin leads to more scarcity over time, which would cause higher value.

But adoption/use-in-commerce is key, otherwise it's just another thing people are trading on the internet. But if it starts getting used for commerce in the business, even on a small/regional scale, it's hard to imagine it going down, simply due to the small amount that's actually available. $350,000 worth of currency units can be stretched to sustain how much daily buisness in an economic system? They can only support more than that if their value goes up to match the need right?

Get everyone you know in the industry and all your customers to start using it and make it worth more (a lot more) than it is now.

I received #516 yesterday and it's up and running. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Ordering another one today it's lonely.

FYI, I ordered 2 ants and they've been mining since i received em 2 days ago. Can confirm that they're happy mining in pairs  Smiley
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin-Adaptive N-factor Scrypt-No more ASICs-[EXCHANGES/AMAZON/ATM/MERCHANTS] on: March 27, 2014, 02:29:51 AM
Just my 2 cents.....I've had a few machines in Boris' pool for several days and it seems to pay out nice. Cool little pool. Granted, the time between blocks is longer than the bigger pools (i have a couple on bitcrush too), but they're much bigger payouts when they happen, and it balances out in the end (or even a little better..). I'm probably also biased from 2 of my machines hitting blocks on the first day they were mining there  Smiley

Prolly gonna move some/all (not that I have a lot..) to P2Pool if it's worth it. Are the payouts really noticibly higher through P2Pool vs. traditional pools?

m50b25:  You mentioned going down to 1030 on core speed, but have you tried going lower? If you haven't, try setting one card to 950 in vertminer, and move it up in increments of 10.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin-Adaptive N-factor Scrypt-No more ASICs-[EXCHANGES/AMAZON/ATM/MERCHANTS] on: March 26, 2014, 10:42:48 PM
I haven't used any Visiontek cards so not sure on those, but if they're 280X then the settings are likely all the same except for finding that card's sweetspot on the gpu speed.

You should be able to get close to 1/2 the hashrate (or a couple % less) than you get for regular script coins. That's normal for VTC.

I've just used the vertminer (custom cgminer from the VCT homepage) so far. Seems to works good, but you have to take the default config file out of it's folder if you want to use a batch file for launch and config (otherwise the prog uses the parameters in the config file instead of what you put in your .bat). And in the .bat file, the command line needs to start as "vertminer.exe --script-vert........". If you leave out the -vert it'll drive you nuts wondering why it won't work  Smiley  (This is compared to regular cgminer command line starting as "cgminer.exe --script ........")

try bidding for three days, cannot get any, too long for a pump. it is like something is happening  Angry

btw, I really hate those endless Icelandcoin, spaincoin, greececoin and stuff. can someone just end it? soon we will start to see Alabamacoins, buffalocoins.

Yeah, just hoping that folks don't start making even sillier stuff like LeBron James coins, Justin Beiber coins, Miley Twerker coins...etc.  Smiley  Hmmm, do the mutant ninja turtles have their own coin yet?

Now if I could only get vertminer to work on my GPUs...

what are the manufacturer(s) and model(s)?

For Sapphire 280X Dual-X im using:  -I 13 -g 2 --lookup-gap 2 -w 256 --gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-memclock 1500 --thread-concurrency 8192
and getting 345Kh/s per card. When increasing the gpu clock by incriments of 10, it falls off a cliff around 1020. At the stock speed of 1050 it performs very badly.

For Sapphire 280X TOXIC im using:  -I 13 -g 2 --lookup-gap 2 -w 256 --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 1500 --thread-concurrency 8192
and getting 375KH/s per card. Stock gpu speed of 1100 is 'way off the cliff'. I think 1060 runs a bit faster and 1070 it falls over, so I like 1050. And on the memory, the Toxic's run at 1600 default, but at 1600 you can only run the gpu up to 1000 for 355kh/s before it tips over, so 1500 mem clock seems better for top speed.

For Gigabyte 280X im using same as Toxic, but lower gpu to 1020 for 365KH/s. Go much higher on gpu, and it tips over.

MSI 280X I still have running single thread (-g 1), as that's how I first found how to get my cards running decent and stable on Vert. But that only gives 300KH-ish, so I'm guessing that when changing to -g 2  the gpu clock will have to go down from its 1020 stock speed to like 980-ish for top hashing speeds.

EDIT: My MSI's are doing 365Kh each at stock speeds 1020/1500 (no need to underclock these guys I guess...) with TC 8192 (add or subtract 1 or 2 if you prefer)

So then add any other switches you normally use for fan and/or temp control, etc.

GreaterNinja, I'm trying to order a couple antminers. On the last ordering step, when I click 'Confirm Order' the little circle spins indefinately and I seem to be stuck there.

Is the ordering still not active (because of the current blockchain.info downtime), or is something not working right on my end? Thanks!

EDIT: Nevermind I got it. Switched browsers and the redirect for payment worked fine Smiley
