1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BMW] Bitcoin MimbleWimble ⬆️ Forks Grin, Beam, MWC ⬆️ on: March 15, 2020, 04:34:34 PM
what do you mean

Quote
Move your coins to claim to a wallet where YOU POSSESS THE PRIVATE KEYS (Not an exchange)

This means you should use the desktop wallets for Beam, Grin, etc. Don't simply hold a balance on the exchange.

The biggest innovation since the creation of Bitcoin may very well be MimbleWimble, a project introduced anonymously, and proven to have sparked interest with popular altcoins like Grin, Beam, and MimbleWimbleCoin.

⬆️ Bitcoin MimbleWimble is a coin that combines the best of the forked MW projects in to one master MimbleWimble coin that can provide a true sustainable future for MimbleWimble, sharing the growth qualities of Bitcoin.

CLAIMING YOUR COINS

On March 28th, the BMW development team will launch it's mainnet, and issue an initial set of coins to those holding any of the following coins, and in the following ratio:

MWC - 5 BMW for every 1 MWC
BITGRIN - 3 BMW for every 1 BITGRIN

-----------------

COIN DETAILS

BMW uses it's own original codebase written completely from scratch, with learnings from the BEAM and GRIN codebases.

BMW is based on Proof of Work, utilizing the XBS algorithm, allowing users to mine coins while contributing to the network. Unlike other MW implementations, BMW is not susceptible to 51% attacks by large miners. The XBS algorithm uses a novel approach to double spending attacks, but requiring proof of work upon reorganization that is only possible for a distributed effort of legitimate actors on the network.

BMW supports a transaction model inspired by Bitcoin, making it simple to support addresses and simple offline send-and-forget transactions.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Join the Telegram and share how you can participate in the BMW effort. We are happy to invite those from the forked coins, as well as those new to MimbleWimble with open arms.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Creating wimblemine mining pool for MimbleWimble coins on: September 30, 2019, 06:14:27 PM
Hey all, I'm a software engineer and crypto enthusiast. Recently I've been learning more about MimbleWimble, and I thought it would be a cool project to start a mining pool for MW coins. It seems like MW breaks some common metaphors with crypto and mining so a MW-focused pool might make a lot of sense. I post here because I'm looking for some help (volunteers) who might want to join me in building something fun.

If you are a designer, engineer, devops pro, distributed systems engineer, or just an enthusiast, introduce yourself here and maybe we can get something cool started together.
