I am still at zero Doge on my balance. I tried to withdraw my 650k the day V2 went "live" - my balance went to zero and I never got a confirmation email - nor my coins, obviously.

Ticket #5063 and #6291

I had just over 650k on Mintpal before it went down for the update. When V2 went live I was immediately trying to withdraw my full balance. I never got a confirmation email and the status for the withdraw remained at "awaiting confirmation" and I was unable to cancel it to try again. I never heard from customer support and I have been stuck in limbo ever since. I tried to create a message this morning in the usernotes on mintpal with no reply and my balance showing as zero.

Looking for help! I mined these coins with a GPU for an overall loss in my investment, I dont want to lose the coins I mined as well...

Woah I never thought of that! Are you Nakamoto?

We are all Nakamoto.

Interesting thread, however at this point I do not really see the synchronicities lining up for IXC.

Dogecoin on the other hand, has grabbed my attention. It is spread out well, gaining traction rapidly, and is very liquid. It was started by an Adobe marketer and an IBM software developer (things that make you go hmmmmmm). The media, "coincidentally" has painted a very good image for Doge, giving it pretty much all positive coverage. Several well known, influential internet folks have tweeted about investing in Doge - The creator and lead developer of Google Mail (Paul Buchheit) tweeted in January "much amaze. so future. such invest dogecoin now. wow. to the moon!" and I cannot think of his name off the top of my head but a very large investor in social media tweeted "buying dogecoin" at about the same time.

These are all of the things the OP has been looking for in his prediction of the rise of an alt-coin. I think he makes very valid points but perhaps he got caught up in the wrong coin?

And last but not least, the icing on the cake:

Doge backwards is eGod  Shocked
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would Dogecoin, with it's massive community, benifit from a "Pump" on: March 08, 2014, 07:08:16 AM
I think a lot of people are not understanding that this is a currency and not an investment like stock. Stock is valued based on the actions of a corporation lead by a small group of people. Crypto is valued based on it's community/user-base and their belief in it's purchasing power.

Theoretically, in my opinion, if Doge were to be "pumped" to new highs, the communities belief in it's newer, higher value, would sustain the highs. This is for 2 reasons:

1- currency does not need to convert to another currency if the holder believes in it's current and future viability. You convert something like stock or real estate in to dollars so that you can spend those dollars on goods and services. Why convert from a new, expanding, decentralized currency back in to an old, dying, inflated and manipulated currency?

2- Doge has a rock solid and steadfast community, committed to it's growth. It is not a fickle group like most other coins. They laugh at "price drops" because they know (either consciously or intuitively) that value will follow belief and belief will grow with the spirit of the community. The Doge community is not in this to get rich quick. They know that so long as their energetic community continues to expand, and so long as they do not convert their coin back to fiat, but rather save it, tip it and purchase with it, that the value will naturally follow.

Remember in the movie "The Matrix" when Morpheous says, about Neo, "he is beginning to believe!" The emphasis is on begining to believe. It's a snowballing effect where belief begets more belief. I think bitcoin was a prototype for this concept of economic psychology and that dogecoin could very well be version 2.0
