1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible that Bitcoin becomes quiescent? on: November 14, 2019, 11:23:09 AM
Perhaps after all coins are mined it would make sense to increase the block size to let more transactions in = higher payout for miners.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever been stolen or lost your BTC? on: October 22, 2019, 06:21:59 PM
It would be interesting to know just how much BTC has been lost, eg. stolen computers, lost hard drives, forgotten private keys.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Fully Decentralized World is Possible? on: October 22, 2019, 10:51:27 AM
I think a decentralised world becomes viable when storing entire blockchains on devices is made possible through an increase in device memory.

However, one thing centralised institutions do offer are: insurance policies, user-friendly interfaces and new features. All of which improve quickly, due to available funding.

But the benefits might one day be few and far between, given the amount of talent working on decentralised applications right now.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin can not become a global currency on: October 22, 2019, 10:01:55 AM
Here's my 4 check points for Bitcoin, or some crypto, to become globally endorsed:

1. More businesses accept it as a form of payment.
2. Software becomes more intuitive and user-friendly.
3. People realise the benefits of using it (https://coinpush.io/blog/the-benefits-of-cryptocurrency)
4. Fiat destabilises - due to inflation, corruption or political circumstances.
5  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Creating a curated crypto directory website on: October 18, 2019, 03:47:37 PM
Hey Zack

Liking the directory website!

If you ever decide to add a "Cryptocurrency payment processors" category, or something of the sort, feel free to add our solution: https://coinpush.io

Thanks for your efforts
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin May Extinct on: October 18, 2019, 03:11:07 PM
In my opinion, it's fairly unlikely for Bitcoin to ever hit zero because: less activity => easier to mine => more miners => more competitive - and the cycle repeats.

However, I did get thinking about the impact of Quantum computing on cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. Here's a video that touches on that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlzJyp3Qm7s
