This is a cool concept to talk about, many people really seem to have no idea how easy somescams are to spot, yet, there's not much content out there about how to spot it. Kudos to you and good luck!

Current price action is not that bad, there are still several scenarios where it can break out over the recent high which is also a high of long period. In this case the technicals strongly would suggest a new ATH. So currently I am not that pessimistic.
Bitcoin is still holding its highest level this year and this is a positive start for Bitcoin to regrow, technically and supported from other fields if bitcoin can hit a new ATH, maybe later this year or early next year. Not just that, but this conversation takes place at least once every couple months here, in reality only time will tell what will happen, speculation will only get us so far. We will lean towards our own biases which is hurtful to ourselves and others reading our messages. |

I check the website and what they offer is too good to be true 10x profit for your investment .hmm no legitimate platform can give that profit.
Yeah, indeed. This is one of the biggest downfalls of online investments, people don't seem to grasp the concept that, even professional traders can only produce about 20% profit YEARLY, and those are expensive to get. So if you are promised any HIGHER than that, in shorter time periods, it's a scam!!!! I've seen many crypto trading or regular stock trading apps with such ludicrous promises, I guess there's just people that don't care much about their money and just like giving it away |

Atoms aren't spendable units last time I checked. What's the relevance of this comparison? Surely it would make more sense to compare troy ounces instead of atoms.
Yeah, satoshis also kinda aren't spendable units if you think about it. To send 1 satoshi how much would you have to pay in fees, the same? At least 1 satoshi right? If that's the case then it's not practical to have 1 satoshi be worth more than 4 or 20 USD, doesn't this give bitcoin a hard cap on maximum possible price? |

Rootstock (RSK) is a pegged Bitcoin sidechain. That means it is uses bitcoin as it's native currency, is merged-mined with Bitcoin and can have different features from Bitcoin mainchain. On of the cool features of RSK (there are many), is that it allows us to build smart contracts (secured by the Bitcoin hashpower). Work started on RSK, I think 5 years ago, and at the time there was a lot of excitement about sidechains. I remember them being considered the future of Bitcoin, the next evolutionary step. I still think that's true. However, building *secure* and *decentralised* sidechains for Bitcoin is REALLY hard. Most people have heard of Liquid which is a trusted federation and not censorship resistant and that has come to be viewed as what Bitcoin sidechains are, and so the excitement waned. In the meantime, RSK has continued to slowly evolve and it is now, in my opinion, finally evolving to a state where Bitcoiners can start building decentralised alternatives to exchanges, lending platforms and derivatives markets for Bitcoin. This is our goal with Sovryn. To build a decentralised, open economy around decentralised, open money: Bitcoin. Call it Sovrynomics  You can check out our (obviously) opensource code here: https://github.com/DistributedCollective/If things keep going reasonably well, Sovryn will be ready to start facilitating margin trading, spot trading and lending for Bitcoin in about 6 weeks. I really like that you are building this off as an open source project. While I understand that some projects need some sort of privacy for security settings, so this approach makes it feel as being more bound to the users that decide to use it. Wonder how the security section will work? I assume not all the code is going to be public, or will it? How do you plan to handle external attacks to security flaws in the project if it is all public? (not critizing at all, genuinely curious) |

Never. Bitcoin cannot replace Gold. We have to admit it. It may compete with Gold as a store of value and perhaps even become the preferred option for a short time but it will never replace Gold. Gold will always be gold. The preciousness of Gold is as old as civilization itself. And Bitcoin is not the one to make it worthless.
Yeah, I've always had the impression that bitcoin compares itself to gold because it's fungible and because it's teh highest value crypto. Other than that I don't think anyone actually believes it will replace gold as THE standard currency. It's a shame countries decided to move out of the gold standard for their currencies, it's what really got us into needing bitcoin in the first place. |

HITBTC, stole my money, so Hitbtc, blacklist. They ask to go through KYC, but they do not give the withdrawal of money!
SOrry to be a bit pedantic, but do you mean "stole" as in, they had an issue with your KYC and you didn't bother answering? I've seen it happen too many times, it's just a matter of reading their emails thoroughly. That's how I was able to finally get my KYC done, I realized the last few emails they had sent me all asked for a PHOTO of my passport, I was sending a scanned document, so I did, and once I sent the PHOTO as they had requested and it wasn't more than 2 hours that I Was able to use my account normally again. Maybe try contacting them once more and see if you can get your issue fixed! |

Scammers are back with their old method but with another new trick. Currently, they are streaming video on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoQX4hElcSU&feature=emb_rel_pause, with the video title 100000 ETH giveaway. Be alert guys. They made the channel name Foxnews which is fake of course and they are streaming an @ethglobal video. THey have been doing this for quite some time now. Just don't follow random giveaways unless you trust the source. Have you seen what they're doing with the youtube ads? Same MO, they say there's a big giveaway and are using youtube as a platform. It's time for google to get on top of their advertisers content.... |

In making such decision then theres no doubt that they already had changed up their minds yet they wont really make up these steps if they arent making some reconsideration on such possibility.
Is this already confirmed or still a rumor? If it is a rumor then im not really hoping that much that this one would be integrated on fast phase.If they do able to do so then
that would really be a very convenient thing for some people including me.
I think what got things going was the recent announcement of PayPal hiring a blockchain expert, and it's good their coming around to terms with the idea, it's either adapt or get left behind and crypto IS the way to go, hopefully they don't riddle it with the same huge fees system for international trades that currently plague bitcoin. |

Betcha op was not feeling the bull run that just washed over us. But not to derail into price discussion (too effortless), It's easy to overlook the good aspects of btc, it will ALWAYS have use, even if you yourself have stopped using it or perceive it as non important, it just means it has evolved. Personally I don't think I'll never not have use for bitcoin in my life. Even if it doesn't go to ATH again, I'll still partake in the ecosystem.

I absolutely agree with you. We still need to add, they still refuse to restore accounts after losing the codes from the authenticator
what are you talking about, I've lost my 2fa device in the past and it took about a week of emails with support to get it fixed and restore my access, I was surprised to see they acted faster on it than platforms like localbitcoins (which btw took just over 2 weeks), don't recommend losing your 2fa device for your sanity's sake, talking to multiple support teams to restore access is a never ending nightmare. |

Isn't this actually an ongoing issue on eth? Vast majority of wallets are web-based so ISP has a record of every address requested by the IP address
when using most of the altcoins such as etherum users have a lot more issues to be concerned about rather than their privacy and their IP address being recorded. that is why we see a lot of web wallet usage, no PGP verification or even existence of it for desktop wallets either. and a lot more. They do at least allow hardware wallets to connect to the site (on desktop) which is good. I agree it's a shame there's no full node version afaik... The wallet you use can certainly get your ip but all your isp will know is thst you've connected to that wallet and not the actual address you've looked up/sent to. This would create even more ways that the government can track your activity in the blockchain which I think is bad enough as it is, bringing IP back would only hurt those who use it if the government ever decides to prohibit it |

I was reading about Cashaa, that was hacked and 336BTC were stolen. But the hacker can't move them right? He will leave footprints. So why should hackers steal them since they can be found? For example if they want to convert them to fiat.
The only way I think you could get by from this felony is to keep them on very long term. So long that it may be forgotten. But still, it may.
Why not? If they're fast enough they can cash out before anyone can get on their tracks and leave unscathed. It's a risk some people consider very worth taking. It all depends on who is executing the hack and how confortable he feels with the following steps of the hack |

Aftere halving I think that the price of Bitcoin will grow because Bitcoin has a lot of users and a very develop ecosystem. So I think that in future the popularity of Bitcoin will grow.
Be honest, you only think it'll grow because it has done so every single time halvings have happened in the past. And that's okay, it's my thought process as well  , things might not just look brighter in the future, there will be dark times, what's important is how we deal with these difficult times, so that we can reap the benefits later down the line. |

I mean, yes, but not really. As soon as you transfer your funds from a recurrent wallet to a exchange they can link your address to your name and address, and if, say, the police ever asks for information about you they might have, you're done. Here's where bitcoin mixing services come into play, there's a nice niche for these, but they are also not very reliable.
Privacy is but a myth otherwise.
People need to understand this, if you link your name and address to a public address you can be traced back if there's an entity sufficiently interested in knowing who you are. |

I remember CZ proposed for a rollback when Binance was hacked but later retracted. AFAIK, the chances of that happening is close to zero. It's simply too costly to even try.

Probably if you're really invested in Bitcoin in a long perspective you shouldn't worry if the price goes down because it's only temporary and only in the short term. But rather convert it as an opportunity to buy more.
I dont get affected by the wild swings it does, because i know it's completely normal for a decentralize asset when its still developing.
Yeah it's more of a perspective thing. If you're only recently got on the bitcoin train, it's understandable you only cheer on the high prices. If you got on the bitcoin train long ago, you probably don't care enough to correct people deciding to jump ship, you might actually even be the one buying the bitcoins off of their hands. So it's beneficial to you in a way for them to sell. |

$20 of BTC is good to test any platform, not just hitbtc. Do think about it this way: liquidity is a MUST, if you're just dealing BTC then any exchange will do good for you, if you're interested in a more niche cryptocurrency then it might be a good idea to try hitbtc, they list pretty much everything in existance, and that's a good thing.

Check coins like EOS, it's really really REALLY cheap. Maybe worth updating with this comparison as an extra? EOS is pretty popular as well.
