He gives my username bad cred! I would like to go ahead and disassociate myself from this service right now. Lol.

Anyway, sorry to hear about everyone's misfortune.

I lose money by mining, but I still do it anyway because I find it gratifying. I'm certainly not investing in specific pieces of equipment to do it either. For me it's much easier to sell products and services instead since mining a single coin for me takes over a week now.

Patience. It may take some time, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I feel as if everyone is expecting the value of BTC to increase on an unrealistic time frame. Anyway, is your goal to always sell BTC for cash? If not, buy something that you need from one of the many vendors that sell things or save them until a time when you do need something.

Congrats.  Make sure to use your Bitcoins to buy crap, not just change it out.

I was going to pull the trigger on some Beef Jerky but decided that I wanted something a little more memorable. Whatever I do, I definitely won't be changing it out. I promise you that much.

...but I find it oddly gratifying. In the last month, I've managed to scrape together a total of 4.037 bitcoins, with 0.002 coming from Bitcoin Faucet. My hash rate is ridiculously low between 2 older computers, at approximately ~100Mh/s total on average. I know that is a joke by most of this forum's standards but I'm not doing this to profit from it. In fact, I'm probably losing money factoring in the hydro costs. I just find it strangely rewarding. At the current difficulty, I'll probably get my next lone BTC in a couple weeks. Hehe.

I'm fairly new to bitcoin. Like many people, I heard about it when I read that (now famous) Wired article. I read up on bitcoin further out of a deep fascination and curiosity. I've been quietly lurking the forums ever since. Anyway, there is no real point to my post. I just wanted to formally say hi to everyone in my very first post on this forum.

P.S. Confession: Before I understood a single damned thing about how mining worked, I set up solo mining (LOL) on a Friday evening and left my computer running all weekend before returning on Monday morning totally expected to see coins. I didn't know how many coins I should have been expecting to even see. I was clueless. Suffice to say, after finally taking the time to read up on it further I learned about how completely ridiculous my presumptions were, but I also learned about mining pools. What I completely naive noob, eh? Hopefully some of you will get a good laugh out of that story.
