1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Marshall's auction.... It's a trap !!! on: June 19, 2014, 03:40:41 AM
Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks this whole auction thing is way out of line... I can't believe I that people are lining up to pay the feds a shit ton of money for bitcoins that they stole. It seems to me that it contradicts the whole purpose of bitcoin.
2  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: If One Invest $500 In mining Then What could be the ROI on: June 18, 2014, 01:49:00 AM
I don't understand why people say you loose money at cex.io, If you purchase $500 in GHash and let them mine for you, any and all btc they mine is profit!  If it looks like the bottom is going to fall out of the market, Just sell the GHash and get your $500 back, You may get a little less or a little more depending on the Price of the GHash when you sell.. You are still making $$$$ while the GHash you purchased is mining for you!!!  This is the way I see it anyway! But everyone has their own ideas about things!

Have you ever heard of a little something called the difficulty increase? Haha it's not as simple as spending some money on gh/s, mining for a while and then selling the gh/s for the same price as you bought them for. The difficulty increases roughly every 2 weeks and when that happens your gh/s become less valuable. Also, the price for gh/s on cex.io is usually pretty high to begin with, not to mention the fees that they throw at you... Mining just simply isn't profitable at the current price of btc. However, the best way to wrap your head around it is to try it. You learn really quickly that it isn't the easy money that it initially sounds like it's going to be.

You'd get less bitcoin if you invested $500 into mining equipment than you would if you were to just buy $500 worth of bitcoin. It's extremely hard to ROI with mining right now. And personally I wouldn't go anywhere near cex.io. They're kind of the enemy right now as far as bitcoin goes haha.

I'm a busker out of salt lake city Utah, I've already done this. Since I started putting my QR code up I've only received one bitcoin tip, but I've had lots of people ask me about what it is. It would be an awesome way to receive tips once btc becomes more mainstream.

7  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2tb bitcoin mining rig worth it ???? on: April 07, 2014, 08:05:59 PM
I'm currently mining at 2th/s and im making about .2 btc per day at the current difficulty. The difficulty goes up roughly every 2 weeks and I make about .03 less per day each time. Just to give you an idea.

20 ltc for me. Lost 1.3 btc in another scam days before. Getting rather fed up with crypto currency at the moment.
9  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: help on: March 14, 2014, 02:16:23 PM
No offense, but 5mh/s is literally nothing in btc mining anymore. The reason your not seeing any return is because you haven't earned enough to get into a payout. You will eventually get enough and get paid out. That could be at least a week and it will equate to like one hundredth of a penny haha. If you want to see a little more earnings, spend 35 bucks on a usb asic. They will mine hundreds if not thousands of times faster than your cpu. That or you can try your luck with cloud mining on cex.io... But as far as mining btc with cpu's go it's almost pointless now.
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Got Scammed... Anything I can do? on: March 12, 2014, 04:10:56 AM
Let me start by saying i realize that it's my own fault for putting trust in someone without knowing them, and that i'm aware that some of you will feel the need to tell me what an amateur mistake it was... That aside.

I found an add on craigs list for a 3.2 th/s miner and contacted the seller. After talking with him for several hours and doing everthing i could to make sure it wasn't a scam, we agreed on a price (in BTC) and that he would be shipping it to me first thing this morning. Luckily i only paid him half and was going to pay the other half after recieving the shipping information and tracking number. He even continued to talk to me for another couple hours after i paid him the btc, via text message. At that point there was no doubt in my mind about the seller. I figured everthing was in the clear and that i was going to have 3.2 th/s more speed in my mining farm. Why would a scammer be such a conversationalist after getting what they were after? Still doesn't make sense to me... But here i am about 24 hours later without a single word from him today and a couple btc gone with nothing to show for it.

My question is.. Is there anything i can do to salvage this situation? I have his personal email address and cell phone number. The transaction is in the blockchain... Or is this just a tough luck, move on thing?

Thanks in advance for any help.
