1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Corona is spreading in many countries!! Bitcoin is a solution for transactions on: March 09, 2020, 10:43:17 AM
we can see data in real-time from this site about Covid-19 Virus (Corona) which is currently serving almost all over the world

source: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

many effects that occur due to the spread of the virus that until now there has been no cure (report from WHO), not only deaths and economic changes have occurred due to the spread of this virus, but also many others;

1. Kab'ah empty
this is one of the extraordinary effects because we know that the Kab'ah is never empty by worshipers who want to worship (even during renovations).

2. Prices of spare parts (electronic devices & vehicles) are rising
China is famous for its counterfeit goods (KW) and cheapness, as a result of the spread of this virus many countries have shut down (export-import) to or from China.

3. the appearance of strange greetings "Leg Shaking"
many people and even state officials are afraid to touch hands (shaking hands) so they do "Leg Shaking" to still be able to maintain intimacy and avoid contracting the coronavirus.

there are many more effects that occur and I can not explain one by one here (because it must be too long)  Cheesy

if everyone is afraid to touch each other, are they not afraid of fiat money when they trade because the virus can spread through paper money (drooling or sweating)??

This is the time we really use Bitcoin and CryptoCurrency as a means of exchange because we are physically not in contact with other people so we avoid contracting the Covid-19 virus (Corona).

I hope the governments of countries around the world can think about this and even campaign it in their respective countries (doing transactions with digital money, cryptocurrency and not with paper money)

COVID-19 has been affecting the world since its discovery - big time. We have witnessed deaths, fear, loss, and decline; not only when it comes to our life but on the economical status of our countries. We know that one way of spreading this disease is through the contact of touch to the surfaces where the infected person touched or held. And we also know that paper money and coins are very dirty. It hold lots of germs and viruses that can cause us sickness and disease including this recent virus. Several countries have been adapting to "work at home" style to minimize the chances of catching the virus. Similarly, normal people can avoid the infection by being sanitized and healthy at all times.

Yes, Bitcoin can be one of the tools for safer and healthier transaction. Since it is digital, it doesn't require contact or touch and doesn't require you to travel. However, we know that there are certain mobile banking apps as well as transaction apps such as Gcash or Paymaya that allows us to do the same thing. The problem here is that, if few people in a certain country isn't aware of Bitcoin, how can they use its power to be safe from the virus?
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Is Bitcoin: Internet’s Native Money or Asset for Speculation? on: February 06, 2020, 03:05:04 PM
A story has two sides always. And for this topic, Bitcoin has people opposing and cheering for it. We may have been repeatedly hearing about Bitcoins advantages such as its easy storage value, low and predictable inflation rate, censorship resistance, low costs and speed in transaction, and security. However, there are also disadvantages that hinders Bitcoin's acceptance among people. This includes its speculative property, high volatility, deflationary nature, transaction irreversibility, and real problems when some things were ommitted.

But I think before all of these points, it is necessary not only to consider the country and its economy, it is better to survey people and understand the different modes of living of people. Depending on what country and way of living, it should be considered for the global community the feeding of Bitcoin among users. It is very unlikely for people to trust something they don't know or doesn't experience. So I think a trial that is first hand must be given.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Future of Bitcoin on: January 23, 2020, 07:45:47 PM
Well for me Bitcoin has its own measure of its security apart from other form of cryptocurrency which is helpful for future economic use. But it can't really replace the real money each countries have. Not only because it would take such a big leap with all of its risks, but also, it is a form of identity of a country, and serves as their counterpart in completing developments inside their region.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying real estate with Bitcoin on: January 23, 2020, 07:41:47 PM
Well, I think real estate compared to the transactions you've mentioned is far bigger. I don't think any real estate company besides those in Japan, or may be not also, would take a risk.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a Safe Haven for Your Money? on: January 23, 2020, 07:37:51 PM
In a thing, there is what we cal pros and cons. It is indeed true that Bitcoin is a safe haven for your money. Because it is a cryptocurrency, it is easy to keep, record, and it will also boom in the future. However, there are certain circumstances that one should be wary. For instance, putting all your money in one place especially in Bitcoin is a big no. Technology is not only a tool to help people but to damage them.
6  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [NEWS UPDATE]Japan and Philippines Initiate and Discuss Crypto Laws on: January 16, 2020, 03:18:52 PM
7  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Kahalagahan ng Trading Psychology on: January 16, 2020, 03:01:51 PM
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts about Bitcoin adoption on: January 16, 2020, 02:49:51 PM
I was actually shocked to know that you can use Bitcoin in stores. And you also mentioned that the transaction takes a bit of a long time. However, it must be noted that not all people have the resources to have Bitcoin in their hands. In some countries just like mine, I think using Bitcoin to pay for groceries or small items is not yet possible. This is due to the lack of access of people to have Bitcoin within their grasp because most Filipinos belong to lower classes. So I think shopping centers, malls, or stores would lose profit if they would rely on Bitcoin used by only few people. Another thing is that, despite of the fame Bitcoin is earning among people, few believes its genuineness.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin scams and new Bitcoin users on: January 15, 2020, 04:25:18 PM
I think what Bitcoin need to prioritize here is having wise decisions. It might be true that Bitcoin can really help in earning money especially for those who are in need of it. However this mustn't be taken advantage because who knows where it might bring you. Lack of research and inquiry can really lead you to a bad spot instead of a smooth transaction to be. So one must do deep research especially with the type of scams to avoid it and to share experience and information with other users also.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin isn't just an investment, it is the future on: January 15, 2020, 03:51:32 PM
I really liked the statement. Not only does it creates a huge impact on people's mindset but shows the capability of Bitcoin. From what we see in the present, it has helped people in more ways that one can imagine. We may see it as a faster, easier, and more convenient way of earning money, but as we take a glimpse of what Bitcoin could offer more in the future, we can see that it has a big potential when it comes to economic stabilizing, improvement of health department, strengthening poor families, saving the earth, and many more big possibilities.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Promote Bitcoin..... It is for "us" on: January 15, 2020, 03:41:19 PM
Well, it is very obvious that Bitcoin has attained its popularity all over the world. Say, if 1 person discovered Bitcoin today, he/she can share it with 5 people and  that 5 people would do the same to another 5 and would cause a big spread already considering the population of the world. However, despite of it being the 'talk of the town' few people still have the guts to enter because they are still not knowledgeable. So, I think what they need is education, just an overview and important facts about Bitcoin. Other stuffs can come in later and ca be discovered just like what I did.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Google's Quantum Computer Destroy Bitcoin? on: December 14, 2019, 08:40:07 AM
This advancement called Sycamore quantum of Google performs calculations that even the most high tech supercomputers couldn't perform. A test showed that this quantum computer solved even the most complex calculation in just 200 seconds that a supercomputer would compute for 10,000 years. Now, this technology is feared among the Bitcoin community because an article showed that it will destroy it. However, this won't be possible yet. It isn't Google or quantum computer which will destroy or track Bitcoin. It is the hackers and criminals who could use this technology for tracking blockchain-based cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Moving on to Other Things on: December 14, 2019, 06:49:00 AM
In the book "Digital Gold: Bitcoin and the Inside Story of the Misfits and Millionaires Trying to Reinvent Money", its author (Nathaniel Popper) quotes a couple of emails sent by Satoshi to other members of the early Bitcoin community. This was apparently right before his disappearance from the forum. Here is the excerpt:

Quote
The author of the Bitcoin software hadn’t posted to the forums since December, but he had continued to e-mail with a select number of developers, including Gavin, Martti, and Mike Hearn, a Google programmer in Switzerland, who got drawn into the project after the WikiLeaks blockade. In late April Hearn politely asked how involved Satoshi intended to be moving forward.

“Are you planning on rejoining the community at some point (e.g. for code reviews), or is your plan to permanently step back from the limelight?” he asked.

I’ve moved on to other things,” Satoshi wrote back. “It’s in good hands with Gavin and everyone.”
[...]
Satoshi’s final e-mails went to Martti, whom Satoshi asked to take full ownership of the Bitcoin.org website.

I’ve moved on to other things and probably won’t be around in the future,” Satoshi wrote to Martti, in early May, before transferring the site to Martti and disappearing into the ether.
[emphasis mine]

I couldn't help noticing that Satoshi announced that "he had moved on to other things" on two different occasions.

What do you think these other things could be? From the context, it sounds these things are unrelated to Bitcoin. Maybe he was working on other projects where programming skills were needed.
This can also be interpreted as Satoshi being more or less satisfied with the development of Bitcoin and confident in its intended future.

I know that this is very speculative and impossible to know with certainty, but I would like to hear your opinion.

There could be many possible reason/s for his decision to step back and all we can do is assume. He might have feared of the unstable or unsure state/future of Bitcoin. He could also be trying to conceal his identity so that once BTC community expand and grew, he could avoid people who are trying to use it for bad acts or he might have feared for his own life. He might be ill, however this is at a low percentage assurance. Or that, he is trying to take care of something huge that he need an ample amount of time.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: please help me about bitcoin atm! SCAM or No on: December 13, 2019, 03:54:47 PM
hi guys
one of my friends want to send me 30000$ bitcoin from america california with easybit bitcoin atm
but he  says you should send 700$ to atm bitcoin wallet to confirm transaction!
is there anything like this in usa ?
also he says i send money to atm and it is pending for your 700$ verification from your distance wallet
he says just in usa atm machins needs this verification
is he lier or not ?

At first, people will think this is truly a type of scam on Bitcoin. However, few people know that BTC transaction or transfer have fees with it. How? This is due to the increasing data on BTC transfer. Earlier, few transcations are happening on Bitcoin. However, due to more people using it, transaction fees have gone off the chart. This is because of the space Bitcoin block occupies and there is no room for transaction with low fees. Another thing, is that transaction usually takes 21-30 days depending on the block you will pay with the transaction fee. The more you pay, the less days your transaction will take.

However, there are also certain counter measurements to lessen your transaction fee. You can use address wallets that can reduce 50-70% of the total transaction fee, fee recommendation websites, or sites that allow you to decide your own transaction fee instead of a forced recommended fee structure.

But your instincts to ask for help here is also good because you get to know important facts aboout BTC transactions. Hope this helps.

15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: France to launch their own cryptocurrency on: December 09, 2019, 09:49:44 AM
well, it seems like France will also launch their own cryptocurrency next year. it's funny that just year ago they despise cryptocurrency(article about it) and now they are launching their own cryptocurrency
and even teaching high school students about cryptocurrency(article about it) and preparing them for it. how things have changed in just a year Cheesy Cheesy

This news is indeed both a shock and excitement, especially to Cryptocurrency users. I think French's government really underwent through a thorough study and investigation on Cryptocurrency's advantages and disadvantages. It is a good thing they are very brave to experiment if Cryptocurrency will be effective. Though it is decentralized, and the first article mentioned that France will ban Bitcoin because it can be used to shift taxes and for money laundering activities.

And because of this adoption, French students are taught just as mentioned in the third article. I think this is very helpful since young generation are more critical thinkers and who knows, maybe one of them could lead to Cryptocurrency's success if ever, in the near future.

Overall, I hope that this would be the start of an open-minded community. However, the cons is that it might spark money related acts punishable by law. And that discipline might be hard to instill among people.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are the world’s governments not using cryptocurrencies? on: December 08, 2019, 07:02:09 AM
Cryptocurrency is very famous for it is anonymous and decentralized with its secure blockchain. However, the government facilitate its people. They handle flat currencies because they are easy to manipulate and that they could monitor if people are already on the act of money laundering. Since cryptocurrency is a single entity on its part, it might be a universal currency due to countries' or governments' different type of currency. However, considering the state of each government with different levels of profit or earnings, cryptocurrency might cause feud among different and neighboring countries.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What makes you trust bitcoin related services? on: December 08, 2019, 02:54:14 AM
Though I have no experience in any Bitcoin related services yet, I think the reason why people put trust in a service generally is its popularity among its users. I first check feedback, reactions, and experiences of other people related to the service that's why it is a plus point for me. Another is that if it is recognized by reputable people or company in that field, another plus point. But most importantly, you must do your own in-depth research and investigation so that in the end, you won't be scammed or you will gain a good advantage with it.
18  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Resources Para Matuto sa English Language on: December 07, 2019, 01:30:52 PM

19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi should be in Time's influnetial person of the decade list on: December 07, 2019, 02:05:44 AM
Due to Satoshi's great foundation and assistance, it could be possible that he could be part of Time's most infuential person - having many users of Bitcoin itself. However, as we all know, his identity is a secret even among the few people who've been in this system for long. Despite the influence and popularity of Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency, readers of the said magazine might not be convinced about his contribution and question his genuineness. I think what the people need is a solid person, not an indeterminate person nor an organization.

Maybe, in the future he could be part of Time's most influential person, but that would destroy the confidentiality of his identity and Bitcoin itself.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have there been any money laundering schemes that used cryptocurrency? on: December 05, 2019, 01:58:04 PM
With the advent of technology, and the fast and vast spreading of information, it is very much likely for people, organization, business tycoons, and money laundering operators to utilize bitcoin as a storage for their money. As their cash is converted to cryptocurrencies, they have the chance to shift funds to numerous people, or to other entities. This, however happens most likely in other countries.
Since there is no single administrator or moderator for this, money launderers could utilize this opportunity to mazimize their assets more without being checked by the government.
