1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sources of income? on: January 06, 2020, 12:38:07 PM
I am primary income from my job to convert into crypto. Many crypto jobs pay below what I earn at regular job, so it does not make sense for me to work for less money just because it is in crypto
2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you ever trade at work? on: January 06, 2020, 12:30:56 PM
I will never trade at work, only focus on my work while working. This allow me to de-attach from trading and I feel more fresh when I come back to it
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do traders spend crypto when they can? on: January 03, 2020, 01:49:42 PM
it can be difficult to spend crypto here, so i almost always convert to local currency for spending. sometime online when i order from ecommerce store, i will pay with crypto, but usually not
4  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin EVER have a bigger blocksize? Is there hope? on: January 03, 2020, 01:43:36 PM
cost to fully validate and store (for archiving) chain is constant growth. if chain become too big too quick, it will not be as decentralized as it should be, because cost to fully validate and store will be too expensive for average home user. look at what happens to ethereum, they must rely primarily to third parties for node. this is not a decentralized system in my view. bitcoin network thrive due to decentral aspect, capable by many who fully validate and run node
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Over? on: January 03, 2020, 01:36:53 PM
As long as Bitcoin remain uncensorable value exchange method, it will not die. Bitcoin is just to be getting started in my view, including lightning network which still face many new developments
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips for local transactions on: January 01, 2020, 04:03:05 PM
I used to meet at a local library for transactions and we would get small studying room (free). It is personal, private, but still public enough to avoid violent theft

9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: how to send BTC from a paper wallet old address P2PKH to bech32 address on: December 27, 2019, 03:26:15 PM
I recommend a hardware wallet like ledger or trezor for long term storage. Paper can be very risky, but as secondary backup, might be fine. If you must use paper just sweep the key every few months or years to test.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is difficult to accept in countries on: December 27, 2019, 03:17:07 PM
If you transact with bitcoins, holding the bitcoins instead of converting to local currency, it is just as easy as any other payment method
11  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ARBITRAGE - is it still PROFITABLE? on: December 27, 2019, 02:36:41 AM
prices are relatively stable across exchange but when there is price difference you can exploit. liquid technology network will be a good opportunity for user to buy bitcoin on exchange A, transfer to exchange B to sell at higher price. how ever, this must happen with an algorithm because manual process will take too long. additional, price difference must be large because even with liquid, you must wait 2 minutes for block time to confirm after transfer.

this is opportunity with futures to hedge out across exchange, so immediate short on exchange B (higher) while buying on exchange A (lower), assume you are then locking in the profit from difference between the prices
