A more specific great advice is to take advantage of good backlinking sources. One of the most significant ranking factors for google is the amount and, more importantly, the quality of backlinks.
But, you have to check if the backlinks are "dofollow" links which is easily checked by right-clicking the link and "inspect". if there's no "nofollow" attribute in the HTML code your save to go.
Here's a little example about Bitcointalk.org and its dofollow-linking.
Right-click https://www.swisstechgadgets.ch and check if its a dofollow rather then a nofollow one by inspecting it. You see, I just got a backlink for my shop which will boost the "domain authority" of my URL for googles ranking purposes! hahaha
