1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed 2.81 BTC Coinbase give away. ...They got me. Don't let them get you on: January 09, 2020, 07:03:02 AM

This part of your post makes it harder for me to believe your story, though that's just my opinion. There are so many ways people use to seek for funds from others on the forum(though they never get one),and this is one of them.

If you're asking for a refund or some sort of help, you're not likely to get it here, and if you truly lost money to a fake Youtube giveaway scam, then it's your fault and you should learn from that error, we all are responsible for our own security.

I know its my fault.

For some people, the story I share on Youtube will help them avoid something like this in their future.
For me there's just a hard lesson.

How the hell do you lose 2.81BTC if it's such a big deal for you, as you claim?

Don't get me wrong, I feel for you, if your claims are true. But I don't understand what you want to achieve with the new BTC address in your post?
Are you looking for donations or what? I hope you are aware that begging is forbidden in this forum.

Look, I am really sorry to break it to you, but with this approach you look like just another scammer... You better show us some evidence or the scammers address where your bitcoins ended.

Evidence is in video.
Thx for the scrutiny and the kind words, lol.
3  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed 2.81 BTC ($27,000 Canadian) -Made a video explaining how it happened on: January 09, 2020, 03:31:07 AM
Yeah,
It happened.

I searched the BTC address and its clearly coming up as a scam address on google and I read about these 1Bas addresses in another thread somewhere that was flagging scams. (Too bad this was way after the fact)
I didn't think this through when I was doing it and rushed into it believing that it was coinbase.

There were no multiple scam videos except for the one that prompted me and then another ethereum on.
Both had 1500+ viewers where the video just started and was about 10-15mins in. They marketed their videos extremely well which is kind of scary for new users.

While I was going through the process, I noticed another litecoin promo video come up with Charlie Lee as I mentioned, so in my head i kept feeding into the idea that they want to promote crypto and get folks talking on Christmas Break.. The idea in my head was that they're spending a little, giving back, to get the market moving again. (It seriously made a lot sense to me for those reasons)

Had there been multiple scam videos running this never would of happened. Totally duped into sending it on my end and I really feel that youtube is sort of responsible for it.
I believe they had been removing scam videos because when I check now, there's tons of them.

This was the SCAM address for your knowledge: 1Bas47macjTth3P6sBqUtXVF2ER9zYZnVh

*If anything take my lesson, and dont be fooled. Think twice, and check your bases. ***Don't rush into something regardless of being short on time.
**There isnt anyone refunding you like a credit card company that would get involved here.

fake litecoin,

These are hacked accounts that are sold on dark markets, but some are sold on regular Russian sites.

There is a large hacking campaign going on.

You would think that YouTube would put out a statement that they are at least aware of the problem. YouTube could end this in a day if they wanted to but choose not to.

Totally agree.. had i received an email or something I would not have donated 2.81 btc to this disgusting scam.
The video popped up on my youtube videos.. this video was recommended to me by youtube. In a sense they promoted the scam.

Worst of all I did it on Christmas eve morning thinking it was a Promo Coinbase was doing to promote the market.

Anyway, Ill post a video here shortly.
Im not a scammer, I was fooled into something youtube promoted to my account and I fell victim to that thinking it was an official coinbase account and they were doing a christmas eve giveaway.
I'll outline it in the video... Yes i posted an address. I just lost 27k dude.

9  Economy / Scam Accusations / FAKE Coinbase Giveaway Scam on YouTube on: January 07, 2020, 07:25:22 AM
Created the youtube video since some of the guys wanted to hear the story from the horses mouth.
https://youtu.be/cNIcG4titWg

Short story: Lost 2.81 BTC on Christmas Eve morning to a 5000 BTC (fake) Coinbase giveaway on Youtube.
$27,000 Canadian. -A lot of money for a guy like me...

I watched it and then took part that morning thinking it was some sort of Christmas Eve give away to entice the community to spread word during christmas.. IT ALL MADE SENSE that morning.
I fell right into the trap for a few reasons I share in the video.

If anything, take this story and safeguard yourself. I mention this in a few ways in the video so its educational to some degree.

Thanks for reading/watching.
