Thanks to everyone for all the help. I'm a bit of a Linux newbie so wasn't really sure what I was doing!

Thanks to BitMaxz, that worked a treat!

Hi all,

Trying to install Bitcoin Core on a Raspberry PI and having some trouble.

I'm certain I did a sudo apt-get install bitcoind before and it worked fine, but I ended up reinstalling raspbian OS and now when I do sudo apt-get install bitcoind I get:

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package bitcoind is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package 'bitcoind' has no installation candidate

Any ideas?

Thanks

P.S I want to avoid downloading source and building it as it takes too long and threw some errors before.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: William Shatner doubts Craig Wright’s claims to inventing Bitcoin on: February 12, 2020, 09:43:21 AM
Wow, really scraping the barrel over the whole Craig Wright thing now, I'd say we've probably heard enough about this fraud already, let's not give him any more attention!
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Introduction of new BTC units to reflect present day prices to increase adoption on: January 14, 2020, 06:08:57 PM
It's a good idea, and actually "bitpip" is a very memorable name. Getting this idea to gain some traction is going to be a challenge though for sure.

As it stands, the numbering convention is very un-user friendly for anybody who is not technical. Having to include all the decimal places when denoting amounts looks ugly and scares people at way.

Perhaps one day when 1 satoshi is closer to equaling 1 cent ( if my maths is correct Bitcoin would need to hit $1 million dollars for this) we will have a level playing field, but I expect we're a long way away from this, and in the interim a proper memorable and friendly numbering system needs to be created and adopted.

Hi,

From which countries is your traffic coming from? Are you able to specify? Would you serve tier 1 (UK, US etc) to my website? https://www.bitcoinreward.net

Thanks

Thank god this whole ordeal will be over, Craig Wright has negatively affected Satoshis legacy with his bullshit!

I use it when I can for regular purchases, but the volatility is certainly a big issue that will hopefully one day stabilise.

I knew it! Bitcoin faucets again Roll Eyes. Here's my advice, don't ever fall in this kind of platforms because first, it is such a waste of your time. Yeah! You may feel motivated at first because of the fact that you're earning coins but lately you will realized that those small fractions of btc are not worthy to of your time. And second, a lot of these faucets are scams and phishing nowadays so your efforts might be wasted if you pick the wrong one.

If you really want to earn some good btc then start investing while the bearish days last. When you grew then you may consider to try trading or mining.

Disagree with this, not everybody has money to invest. Also since 2014 I've made around 0.9 bitcoin just from faucets and micro earning sites in my spare time. It helped that back in 2014 faucets would pay a few hundred sats per hour, it was easy to make 10k satoshi a day.
12  Economy / Micro Earnings / Bitcoinreward - Easy Earning With Offer Walls and 50% Commission System! on: January 07, 2020, 06:17:39 PM
Hi all,

Hope this allowed here.

I help to run Bitcoinreward. We've been alive since 2014 and we offer users a nice easy way to earn some Bitcoin. It's very simple really:

  • Enter your BTC address and optionally an email address
  • Pick offers from our 3 large offer walls. These range from very simple things such as visiting sites and watching videos, to completing surveys and trialing apps/ software.
  • Once you've passed the anti-fraud checks we pay out straight to your wallet, no withdrawal fees
  • You can also earn 50% commission on any users that you refer. Some of our highest paid affiliates are making a very nice income from commission alone

We've been around for over 5 years and paid hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of Bitcoin in that time.

Give us a try if you haven't already and if anybody has any feedback / questions I'd love to answer them Smiley

As someone who has been using freebitco.in for years I just want to give my 2 cents about the trolls in this thread.

It's pretty obvious that the guys whos spewing his hate for the site got caught trying to cheat the system. If he was innocent, I'm sure he would have had enough evidence to prove it, but instead he seems hell bent on ranting his incoherent nonsense.

I've been spinning on freebitco.in for years (its become quite an addiction), I rarely gamble on there. I have my own micro earnings site that has sent over 7,000 referals to freebitco.in over the past few years. Some of them turned out to be semi-high rollers and earned me a decent amount of Bitcoin in referral income. I've withdraw several times without any issues and I've kept a decent amount of Bitcoin in my account for years to gain the interest (which i get daily without fail).

The lesson is simple - use the site as its intended and you won't have any issues.

Incidently I am quite fascinated by freebitco.in. There is very little info on the guys behind it but it seems like a very professional operation. I get the impression the owners are early adopters of Bitcoin and got in during the early years (2010/2011) and have made an absolute fortune from both Bitcoin and their site.

Running a site of that size and in that industry (gambling) must be extremely difficult and full respect to the likes of the TheQuin for dealing with the huge amount of trolls/scum that try to steal from their site daily.
