1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Developing a cryptoexchange, thinking about an ICO. on: April 24, 2018, 08:07:44 AM
Does the side project exchange have any features planned which are any different than most other exchanges?

good point .
can you explain your project how it will be different from already existing exchanges like binance , bitfinex , kucoin or DEX like idex , cobinhood ?

also binance working on own DEX so more competition .
so if you are coming with same idea without any new thought then many exchanges ICOs were not that successful .
also new exchanges are struggling to get traders .

As I had already answered @TweetBirds, it will not be much different than many exchanges in the top 10, like the ones you mentioned.
However it will be superior in almost every way to most exchanges outside that group.

I will say again, competition in the crypto exchange landscape, is not the same as competition in other businesses.
Most exchanges have accounts in other exchanges, most serious traders have bots on +10 exchanges.

This is very evident by many exchanges that are complete garbage in both UI, security, and reliability and still have +20 millions daily trade volume.
Some of these resemble a second year student school project.
We can do better, we have good people on our team and the technical and regulatory things under control.
We are mostly looking for good partners to the business side of things.

I would be grateful if you can give me some names of trading platforms ICOs that failed.

Ah, and Binance is working on a DEX, sure.
If you think it will launch in less than a couple of years and will do everything they say it will do,
You are in for a disappointment.

china not support ico
and all exchanger from china leave from china and replace office
so if youre target in china market is not good

This doesn't answer my questions.
My questions were:
1. Can the Chinese government DO anything to an exchange outside China?
2. Can the government effectively prevent marketing of a foreign ICO in the crypto scene there?

We already know there's an ICO ban in China, but I have no doubts thousands of Chinese have crypto and are actively trading and investing crypto despite the fact it is forbidden.
The whole point of crypto is being censorship resistant.

Apart from being significantly more user-friendly, responsive, robust, reliable, and secure than the vast majority of exchanges outside the top 10 by volume, not really.
We are not trying nor claiming to reinvent the wheel. The exchange scene cannot really be saturated.
As long as you add liquidity to the markets and keep users funds safe, traders will generate enough volume.

We ARE working on a very unique game changer feature in the field of crypto in terms of user fund safety, but it's in a very early stage we're not sure
when and how it will come to be, and since we are not the kind of people to make empty promises, we are not including it in our whitepaper.

Try the Baltics, or Belarus.
Some German banks are crypto-friendly.
Also the Latvian bank LHV.

Please PM me with more info, maybe we can cooperate in some way.

Hello,

we are 3 friends who are working as developers for one of the biggest fiat <-> bitcoin exchanges in Europe.
As a side project in our spare time we are developing a crypto <-> crypto exchange (not dealing with fiat at all).

We have an MVP, but we don't have the time or resources to continue development, not to mention launch the product,
so we are thinking about an ICO (token for reduced fees, i.e., Binance style).

I would like to ask where can we find marketing firms that promote ICOs, only ones with PROVEN results that helped fund >5 million USD ICOs.
We would like to find a suitable firm for each of the following markets/audiences:
- Korean
- Chinese*
- Japanese
- International (English)
- Russian

*We know there's an ICO ban in China, does it mean that even foreign companies cannot advertise ICOs there?
If we allow Chinese citizen to invest in the ICO, will we be subject to any real sanctions from the Chinese government,
if none of us ever intends to set foot in China?

Any advice is appreciated.

P.S.
To everyone who wonders, yes, we discussed this with a couple of private investors and VCs, but they all want too big a piece of the pie and we don't want to be diluted out of our own work.

@Developer:

Will it be possible to pair my true SegWit btc wallet for the next distributions?
Any new info on distribution? (website still says mid November).

Thanks.

Interesting, I would like to hear more!
I will write you a PM later today.

@HeRetik:

Thank you very much the helpful information.
As an EU citizen I can relatively easily relocate to either Austria or Germany.
It's not a problem if it saves me 150K euros in taxes.

Can you PM me or write here the contact details of said accountants and tax advisors?

Thanks again!
9  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin to euro (~500 000e) where will I pay no tax/ as low tax as possible? on: November 02, 2017, 09:40:24 AM
For sure, but an accountant from where?
That's the question.
Most accountants are only aware of their local regulations.

I suppose I could try to find an office that specializes in pan-European regulations,
but I will have to find one that also deals with crypto.

I'm not sure such exist, or how to find one.
10  Bitcoin / Legal / Bitcoin to euro (~500 000e) where will I pay no tax/ as low tax as possible? on: November 02, 2017, 09:20:26 AM
I'm in the crypto game since 2012, I have quite a lot of bitcoin I've been hodling since then.
Unfortunately, I have an urgent need to liquidate about 500 000 euros worth.

Where in the European Union can I do it with no tax, or as little tax as possible?

I searched the net, this forum, I know this list:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country_or_territory#Europe

All I found was speculation, I haven't found a single person who did it and can testify from experience.

And I heard about Germany and Denmark, but I don't speak these language very well, and I think most of the information is buried in local
discussion groups.

Can anyone attest from personal experience about a large scale conversion (100K and above) to a European bank account,
and tell about tax policies that were enacted? From 2017 if possible, since things change, many of the threads I found were from 2014.

No speculation please, no opinions, real world experience only!
I want to do everything legally, but as cheaply as possible.

If you don't want to expose yourself also PMs are welcome.
Thanks a lot!

Can not connect to X11 or X13 (again!!!!)

[2014-07-12 12:29:11] Stratum connection failed: couldn't connect to host
[2014-07-12 12:29:11] ...retry after 30 seconds

# ping nicehash.com
PING nicehash.com (162.159.248.154) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from nicehash.com (162.159.248.154): icmp_req=1 ttl=54 time=40.1 ms

I used to like nicehash but these dead periods are getting silly.
Is it just me or it is time to look for a more reliable service?

I have a nvidia rig which works with a homemade script to switch between X11 and X13 (nvidia loves those two!) but that isn't causing me to get blocked or banned is it?
I check the profit every 5 mins and switch accordingly.

Thanks

If you find anything better pls let me know.
sick and tired of these disconnects, their service is down like 20% of the time.
really want to find something else until they fix it, but I don't know of anything better.

Last couple of hours no mining at all...
14  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - innovative professional cryptocurrency cloud mining service on: July 11, 2014, 12:58:07 PM
Since the implementation of worker names, I can see that my workers connection to NiceHash rarely goes over 1 minute...
Should start working with a white list if you ask me.

The only reason people are still renting their rigs to Nicehash is more or less because GPU miners have no real alternatives.
And when your customer base is your hostage, then solving their problems maybe doesn't look so urgent.
Still charging 2% fee (that we know of), and every server crash is an attack.
Feeling extremely bitter about this.

No stable mining yet.
ok for some minutes, maybe 1 hour, then disconnects.

To all who cannot connect, open CMD and type in: nslookup stratum.nicehash.com

Let us know what kind of result you get.

Port 3337 (X13):
"No server were found".

Cannot mine X13 or X15 since yesterday, losing my money and my nerves...
nicehashdev, when are you going to solve this?

Hey Terk,

I stopped mining Scrypt as it is no longer profitable with GPU, I still have few millibits in my account at Clever which are unexchanged for about 3 weeks.
Is it possible to withdraw them somehow?

User is 14tktFjKVYmMMAEBL4n6mbh4nxvMc1KCrs

Thanks in advance.
