1  Economy / Economics / Re: If being a graduate is the key to being wealthy, why are there poor graduates? on: February 27, 2024, 12:38:51 PM
Of course education is one thing. That's the basic requirements most jobs are looking. If you're a graduate, it'll increase your qualifications for their requirements. But obviously, it isn't just the only requirements when seeking for a job. Because comparing to non graduates, they have more opportunities. But there are hundreds of people looking for the same position as yours so that's the hard part. Even if you get the job, that doesn't guarantee you a successful life in the future. It'll still depends on your fate, the opportunities that will come to you, and how you deal with it.

There are academically achievers but lacks knowledge and skills when it comes to applying things in real life.  That's why for others, even if they are good at studying, those who are bad at studying can still surpass them with achievements in life...

3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Isn't trading almost like gambling? on: February 26, 2024, 12:12:27 PM
They do have similarities in some aspects especially the involvement of risking money. Trading is very risky that it could make you lose all your money in short span of time, the same possibility in gambling. Though both also requires luck, but it has differences. You can gamble by only relying with your luck but in trading, luck is one thing but it requires deep understanding and studying the market. You can't just start in trading without learning the basics of trading but on the other hand, you only need to know how to play the game in gambling.

Trading is more technical than gambling. A normal person can enjoy gambling but may see trading too complicated and may not enjoy trading at all.
4  Economy / Economics / Re: How can it be possible coping with one source of income on: February 23, 2024, 01:23:04 PM
Through out last year I find it hard to get things done with funds despite how my earning was and I find it hard to spend more on my bills around me , though I have been seeing some humans earning and paying bills with one source of income and I do ask myself how is it done

please your advice will be of help
If you have a high paying job, it's possible to live in a comfortable life with only one source of income. But if you're receiving an average salary then it'll be hard. Well, kinda still possible if you're living independently with no other expenses aside from yourself. But if you're the other who lives with their family and having to support them really makes it hard to budget the salary and to pay all the bills. It's like your salary is only enough for your living expenses, barely having extra funds for saving and emergency funds.

So the best solution is to find another source if you can or find a different job that would offer you more than what you're currently receiving. If you can't do any of those things, then you'll be stuck with having this financial problem of managing your finances every payday.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Couple won the jackpot but split soon after! on: February 21, 2024, 12:07:38 PM
I know 3 months isn't long enough to fully trust someone even if it's your partner, or know whether you two will be together till the end. But it's just funny how a person can easily change because of money. Out of nowhere, you want to leave the person just because u won a huge amount of money in your name. Legally, she has the right to the prize since it's her name but if the guy is saying the truth that would definitely be unfair, and the girl is pure selfish.
I would understand if she's alone when she bought the ticket and the guy has no engagement during the buying of the ticket. But since they were together when they bought it, it's unfair especially that since you got the jackpot prize, you'll leave the other person alone... If both parties will continue being greedy and selfish, it could lead to a more problem. Their names and picture are being publicized so it can endanger them. Also, it could bring grudge to each other especially it involves huge money, you wouldn't expect what a person can do for money.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever introduced an elder gambler to online betting? on: February 20, 2024, 01:09:22 PM
I don't really introduce nor promote gambling to other people, except if I know that this person is responsible enough. I know several elder gamblers around me but I am reluctant to introduce them to online gambling cause I have this feeling that once they're introduced to online gambling, it could lead to spending more time and money in gambling. I have these two elder people I know who might enjoy sports betting and online casinos but I didn't share it to them. However, just recently, I found out that they already discovered online betting.

On the other hand, I introduced online sports betting to one of my relatives. I know that he can be responsible with his money and has self-management. So it was never a problem to me sharing it to him. I choose to whom I will share online gambling platforms that I know cause I don't want to be the reason a person becomes addicted to it.

So if yung mga sellers nag evolve from physical to online selling, expect na susunod ang BIR. Kung saan may income, nakasunod ang BIR.
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Not easy times in the world but how the goverment will improve? on: February 20, 2024, 11:19:43 AM
Even the solution you gave doesn't seem right to me in solving an economy's problem. First of all, it's a large country which means they are powerful and has a lot of influence. So if their economy went down because of printing too much money, it will affect other countries as well like their allies and the developing countries who rely with its influence. Once that country experience great inflation, it could result to the thing you mentioned which is devaluing their currency. But it will definitely impact your economy as well and the others. Instead of giving a solution, it'll being more problem. Let's take an example, if that country have inflation, the prices will increase so if they are a heavy exporter country, those country who imports their products will also be affected due to the increase of the price.

Economic problem has been an ongoing issue of a lot of countries. It's hard to find a perfect solution to this. For me, in order for the economy to strive, the government should focus on developing or improving in something that their country can offer. For example, if your country has an abundance of agricultural lands, they can take advantage of it by producing crops that they can supply to people and other country.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling between the past and nowadays on: February 19, 2024, 01:11:49 PM
The pandemic.
When that happened, everything changed. Well, that's in my case but I bet it is for others too.
I am a poker player physically, I love playing with strangers who later on became my friends too. Still, when we sit at one table we become competitive again and there's no clue that we are friends. It became like a sport to me and it became my habit to go to that place weekly there are even times I cannot wait for my day off and will go there on weekdays just to satisfy my urge to play.
When the pandemic hit, the place closed down, and even now that it is open again I have not visited it again. I am kind of afraid that different people will be there and I might get shy to start playing again.
Then, I bumped into online gambling sites although I have known them before. i.e. Yolodice, Bitvest, 777, and more. That changed everything because I can satisfy my urge to gamble now by just opening my computer and it's a perk to me because I am also working at home. I don't even need to go outside to gamble and that's what happened for the last 3-4 years if my memory is correct.

I think the ease of access is the main reason why a gambler would just stay at home. You can even do it in your smartphone before going to bed which is a great feature.
I highly agree with this. I feel like pandemic really plays a big factor that made people shift from physical to online gambling that easily. Imagine, within the span of 2 years of pandemic and lockdown, a lot of online gambling platforms emerges as well. I remember back then here in my country, cockfighting are very common that some people will really organize their small game even if it's prohibited. And since it's a very in demand game, online cockfighting becomes a thing. To prevent themselves from getting caught by the police, they just decided to stay at home and bet online. Also, a lot of gamblers learn to gamble online. And since it's an easy access, given the fact that people are getting bored staying at home, a lot of people also becomes addicted to online gambling at that time.
10  Economy / Economics / Re: Some persons lacks financial sensibilities on: February 19, 2024, 12:49:47 PM
If it's your girlfriend, you should know her personality and what she likes and dislikes. You supposed to know her. Given that you have $50 budget for valentine's day, if you know your girlfriend is the type of person who likes receiving gift, you could've been thoughtful on what to give her. It's not about the amount, it's what will make her happy. With $50 you can give her something useful as well while adding effort, like a simple letter.

Yes, money is useful. But for valentine's day, it's kinda normal for women to expect something aside from money. Because thinking of something to give to your partner is also part of the effort which makes them feel loved. You can't say that a person lacks financial sensibility just because she expected a "gift" during valentine's and not money. It's a special day to celebrate love so like, at least show some effort... But there are people who appreciates money more rather than stuff with no uses. So you should really know what your partner likes. Consider the thought of the person you'll be giving a gift.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding the basics in Bitcoin before investing on: February 19, 2024, 12:35:19 PM
Before you invest in general, you need to assess yourself and classify what type of risk attitude you have when it comes to investing. In that way, you can evaluate what kind of investments you can manage or you can handle. If you're a risk seeker, crypto is a great space for you since it's highly volatile which makes it riskier than other investments. But even if you're not that of a risk taker but still wants to get into crypto, you can start by investing small amount so it won't affect you pretty much.

Studying the basics about Bitcoin is definitely needed. Like what is Bitcoin, its history, how it works, pros and cons, what to do and what to avoid and such... But aside from these technicalities, beginners should also know that investing in Bitcoin isn't something a get-rich-quick scheme. Even if you heard from others that they earn this amount of money from Bitcoin, it doesn't mean that everyone will also earn the same way that easy. If you're a beginner in this space, don't be fooled by those too-good-to-be-true stuff that others will say. It that way, you won't be left crying.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we should prioritize investment over saving on: February 18, 2024, 12:59:27 PM
Why we should patronize investment over savings is that investmet provides more profit than savings. Let's take for example you save money in bank for 3 years, instead of making profit your money would be gradually deducted bit by bit for maintenance,  transfer or SMS fee. But in investment like Bitcoin, volatility in Bitcoin will make it to increase, except the volatility is a negative volatile instead of positive volatility.
Savings are necessary, there can be emergencies and times when you might need funds and you can't use funds that you have invested in such situations. Will you sell your Bitcoins even if they are at a loss if you face an emergency because you don't have funds for the emergency? You can't because that means you are wasting your money and instead of getting profit from your investment, you are getting loss and no one would want that.

So it's essential to have savings, you don't need to keep it in an account where you will be charged fees and stuff, create a savings account and keep your savings in it so that you can use them whenever you need to. If you can afford, have both, savings and investment funds, so that you don't need to use your savings for investment purposes.
I agree with this. Investment will definitely bring us more money since we can earn profit from it compared to saving where we just keep our money in banks and won't bring us profit. But both investing and saving are important. Since like what you've said, when there's an emergency it would be difficult for us to use our investment especially if it's doing well. Also on the contrary, if your investment didn't do well, we wouldn't be able to get something for emergency purposes. So aside from focusing on investments, we should also have our savings on the side cause we don't know what will happen tomorrow. Investment will help us earn money and saving will make it easy for us to find money whenever we need it.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you stick to some Casinos or do you try out new ones? on: February 18, 2024, 11:14:13 AM
Your friend knows his self and his self control when it comes to gambling so maybe that's also the reason why he'd rather stay on the online casino that he knows than trying out the new ones. It's also understandable that it could get you to spend more on gambling.

As for me, I'm open to trying out other websites that I haven't explored yet especially if I've been hearing good reviews from other gamblers. But if it's a new online casino, I feel like I'd be reluctant to try it out... But since I'm currently trying to limit my spendings in gambling, I am not into exploring other casinos right now. But if I do have extra money I can spend on gambling, it would also be fun to explore other website. Understanding their UI and stuff won't be a problem since that's part of exploring.
14  Economy / Economics / Re: Save money today so money would save you tomorrow. on: February 18, 2024, 07:59:33 AM
So please it’s not too late to stop spending on things that doesn’t really matter, so basically the money you saved today could literally save you tomorrow.
But will you keep saving when there's a better way for you to secure tomorrow which is by investing? Investing offers a better option to me than saving because in saving your money may be losing value due to inflation but when it comes to investing the money is building value against tomorrow. Do not save without investing. If you want to have things easier for you tomorrow then it is better to make sacrifices today to make good investments that will be profitable for tomorrow.

If you start investment at an early age you will be able to retire early when you're old.
Investing will surely bring your profit unlike with saving, you're just keeping your money without gaining something. But the thing is, saving is also important. You may have investments and could be making profit but what if your investments didn't do well and then an emergency happen. Where will you get money from? You can invest to to earn profit from it, but you can also save at the same time. Start saving even a portion from your profits so when there's an emergency, you wouldn't have to sell your investments or use them since you have other money that you saved for such unexpected events.

With your investments, it can help you to add more money to your savings. But it doesn't mean that if you have investments, you're already secured and won't be needing to save money for the future. Investment involves risks so you can't fully rely to it for your emergency fund. It's still better to have savings even when you already have investments.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are newbies afraid to comment on threads of highly ranked members? on: February 17, 2024, 03:08:41 PM
It's normal to feel that, especially as a newbie. Cause I also felt the same way back then, and sometimes I still feel it up to this day. But it depends on the topic or the thread cause there are topics that I am not really that knowledgeable so I kinda doubt myself with what I'm about to share, if it makes sense or what I am saying is correct.

Seeing the ranks surely affects some of the lower ranks. Sometimes it's kinda intimidating to interact with higher ranks cause obviously, they've been here in the forum for a long time and already have a lot of knowledge. But the positive side of interacting with their threads or topic, you'll gain knowledge based on their experiences here. It's like, being surrounded by users with enough knowledge will make you learn things you don't know in the crypto space. Also, if you really want to share what's on your mind, feel free to share it since that's what the forum is for. You can be corrected, you can ask and learn new stuff, and you can share your ideas to others as well.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do people truly risk their money on bets for profit? on: February 17, 2024, 01:31:04 PM
Well, that's the point of gambling. That's even in the definition of gambling
Quote
play games of chance for money; bet.

So it's kinda bizarre to gamble if you don't really aim to win a profit from it. Cause if it's not the profit that you want and you just want to entertain yourself, there's a lot of other entertainment out there without the need of risking or betting your money. Yeah, I get the point that you also gamble for entertainment but aside from that, there's also a hope of winning for the money.

Some people are okay with losing their money because it's just their extra money and they can afford to lose it. But it doesn't mean that they also have no intention of winning, right? It's like as a gambler, you gamble for the two main reasons:
1. Profit
2. Entertainment
It just depends on some gamblers what matters to them the most. But definitely these two are always the factor.
17  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto investment vs real estate investment : Which one more dependable? on: February 17, 2024, 11:16:42 AM
Crypto investment vs real estate investment : Which one more dependable in the future
Though have been in the crypto space for quite some time now, I knew little about crypto. A friend of mine just introduced me to real estate investment.
Which one should I go for with a capital less than $2500?
Investments have risks but crypto is riskier than real estate, and real estate can really last a long time if it's being maintained well. Also, if you have like a land, you can build a house or something that you can use for leasing which is a good passive income. You can earn monthly income with this and at the same time, the property or the land will appreciate over time esp if it's in a great location. HOWEVER, with a capital of less than $2.5k, you can only purchase a small area of land with limited location since the prices of land are increasing. You definitely need more than that capital if you want a decent portion of land and area.

But if it's really the only budget you can allot, then go for crypto. There's no problem with crypto and Bitcoin as long as you're knowledgeable and you know what you're dealing with. Unlike with real estate, you kinda need to monitor more often how's the market doing. So if you have limited budget but have time (tho it won't really consume you much time of your day), crypto can be your best option. If you really want to invest in crypto, you need to study and what to do and what to avoid since it's a lot riskier and very volatile.
18  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Gambling winning streak on: February 16, 2024, 02:33:54 PM

19  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy pressure on: February 16, 2024, 12:45:54 PM
A lot of countries are experiencing inflation. And we've all been experiencing it ever since. Compare the prices of stuff before to today's price, you will always see a huge difference. Everything's becoming more expensive each day. Just a few years will pass, the prices of goods would probably be doubled. I feel like even the government can't really do anything about it. Perhaps the best they can do is to try to maintain or slower the increase of commodities and goods.

It has been a long issue of inflation, and instead of waiting for the government to solve this issue, individuals are forced to find other ways to earn income instead of just relying to a single source of income so they can afford to live a comfortable life.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if? (2) on: February 15, 2024, 01:14:29 PM
The question would be, how long does the solar storm would last? Weeks or a month? After solar storm, will everything go back normally as soon as it ends? Or will it completely blackout all the internet around the world?

But let's imagine a scenario wherein it blackouts the internet. Most probably, everything will be affected. The economy will also be affected. It could lead to a similar situation during pandemic where people will have to stay at their homes. A lot of things in this era run with the help of the internet. Especially at work, it'll be hard to function without an internet. So imagine every work, and various field won't be able to function completely because of it. And if the economy is affected, Bitcoin can also be affected. And since in the crypto space internet is very vital, it will bring such a huge impact to the market and it will vary by how long does the solar storm will last. The longer, the bigger the effect.
