1  Economy / Economics / Re: UK brexit and rejoin with Europe and economy on: May 29, 2024, 01:19:39 AM
Biggest Brexit exit argument was to stop immigration.
The stopped the legal immigration all right, leading to a shortage in every low income job there is.
It didn't stop the illegal immigration though.

Short sighted is what you can call politicians nowadays.
I don't think any country could stop illegal immigration completely but it's ironic that they were able to stop or minimize the legal migration while the illegal continues. They will probably have to grant those who entered illegally like what the US is does especially when a democrat is sitting as the President.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Lotto Winner Takes Time To Claim Their Rewards, What's The Point? on: May 25, 2024, 09:17:57 PM
[...]but will you go to the extent of doing a stake out in the lottery office and wait for three months to get the price, have you not think of the risks.
Nothing wrong with their approach. Three months is probably too long to observe but what he did is less risky compared to just going in there without knowing the surroundings.

[....]
just because you've won a lot of money in lottery doesn't mean that you're obligated to help out the people that are asking for some of the wins and to share to them your winnings,
You're not obliged but you never really know how people thinks when money is involved. They will hold grudges if you don't give something and who knows what they could be planning to get a piece or maybe the whole pie.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A GAME-FI PROJECT WITH HYPE CALLED SOUL LAND on: May 25, 2024, 09:06:24 PM
[...]SoulLand appears to be a promising project with a unique blend of social interaction and gamification.
Everything looks like a promising project - at least that's what every new project says. Nothing is unique gamification and social interaction since they copy each other. There will probably come a day that every game is the same but everything will come down to branding.

Quote
It looks like a potential gem, but thorough research and cautious consideration are crucial.
Good call but now is probably not the time to watch and wait if your goal is to earn from this project.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After the Ethereum ETF(s), which altcoin will be next? on: May 25, 2024, 08:59:44 PM
I wanted to pick XRP or BNB but both could still have problems from their past or current issues.
LTC is already an OG but it has fallen off in popularity and rankings in the last few years.
DOGE? Nah nobody will still take them that seriously even though they've gained popularity among mainstream users.

so maybe it will be SOL.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2023/2024 on: May 25, 2024, 08:53:37 PM
At least ETH and his team can still save their faces with that win over City. Fans are focused on celebrating and will forget about calling for his sacking momentarily hehe.

[...]
Regarding Ten Hag, that's true maybe this trophy can't save him and I think he will be kicked out soon he couldn't have given Man United a better place., there isn't even a single ticket to the Europa League competition yet.
I think he's given the team the UEFA Conference League which is a third-tier competition behind CL and Europa League. That's still not a better place for a club their history and size.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 25, 2024, 08:43:23 PM
I wasn't expecting this series to become 2-0, led by the Mavs. ANT has not been consistent for how many games already. Although he is scoring in double digits, it's far from impressive considering he had a lot of field goal attempts. Tonight, he only made 5 out of 17. Also, KAT. One of the Wolves' problems is consistency in offense, unlike in Dallas, where they have Doncic.
The Wolves continue to frustrate their fans in this series. It looks like the Wolves players underestimated their opponent and were very irresponsible in the second half. Just look at the fact that the Wolves led by 18 points with 3 minutes left in the first half but still managed to lose by 1 point. That's an epic fail.
It's not about underestimating since we all know 18 points isn't that many in the NBA and a lot of teams came back from that. This is more like the coach not knowing what he's doing in the last three to four possessions or that ANT simply choked. He threw two bad passes which allowed the Mavs to score more points and take the lead.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DOG- A memecoin on Bitcoin Blockchain on: May 24, 2024, 12:41:15 AM
- Its mission is to onboard millions of people to Bitcoin.
This is where I get skeptical. I think this is being dishonest and it's more like using the Bitcoin blockchain's popularity to sell their tokens. I know it's said that no team allocation but I doubt if the creator doesn't have a private stash somewhere. I bet it's one of the biggest holders.

[...]But I am confused about the claim that there was no presale nor team allocation and that all token are circulating supply. How is that possible? Did they airdrop all the tokens? Or what?
It's already stated in the OP that it's an organized airdrop.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling bad to the society? on: May 24, 2024, 12:07:15 AM
[...]
So what I'm trying to conclude is that gambling isn't something you should take as a hobby or as a means of earning just to make a living. So what are your thoughts?
I think there will always be people who say things that are politically correct but never follows it. I can resort to gambling as a means to earn something on the side or I could treat it as a hobby. My personal take on this is that you shouldn't tell people what to do with their money since you don't know how they handle it. People can gamble if they want to as long as they are responsible.

[....]but I think it will be easier for the Celtics to win this time because I'm sure Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla will make some adjustments.
Easier huh? Are you willing to bet on them with -handicap?

I think this is going to be another close game with less than 10-point gap but I don't know who will come out as the winner. I'm still betting on the Pacers +10.5 since they are the underdogs just like in game 1. It just makes more sense to pick that with odds @1.7
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 23, 2024, 02:25:52 AM
Three quarters in and it's turning out to be a brick throwing contest between Luka and ANT hehe. Good thing for the Mavs is that Kyrie is on point while McDaniels covering for both KAT and ANT. One thing that the Mavs have to look out for going into the fourth quarter is how they are turning the ball twice as many as the Wolves.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 23, 2024, 01:06:32 AM
First quarter is over so how do you think this game will play out? I'm a bit surprised that Kyrie is already taking over the scoring this early. I already placed a bet on Wolves -4.5 and I'm thinking of adding another one since Irving could be scoring over 30 points in regular time.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: May 23, 2024, 12:42:12 AM
I knew Atalanta had a fighting chance but I never expected how the previously unbeaten Leverkusen to not even score a goal. It's just embarrassing for the Bundesliga champions to be losing that way. Congratulations to Atalanta and Lookman for an impressive performance. I won't be surprised if bigger teams from Europe start fighting over him in the offseason.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: May 23, 2024, 12:28:39 AM
ralle's Wolves -4.5 pick makes more sense so I'm following that. I think that team will play aggressive defense and swarm Kyrie and Luka so both or either of them will be limited to 20 points or less. That will probably be enough to win the game and cover the spread.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Lotto Winner Takes Time To Claim Their Rewards, What's The Point? on: May 23, 2024, 12:16:48 AM
Maybe you'll understand why once you won the jackpot. The winners who take their time to claim their winnings are probably thinking of setting up security first or completing a plan to move out to another place where nobody knows them. All of these things may take a few weeks or a month.
15  Other / Off-topic / Re: Floyd Mayweather detained in Dubai due to gambling debts? on: May 23, 2024, 12:02:34 AM
I would have given the source the benefit of the doubt on Floyd losing some bets but being held by the Saudi Government? That's what I find all cap. I was thinking Floyd's money transfer was just taking time to clear that's why he wasn't allowed by the owner of the private casino to leave.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future Investment with Dogelon Mars (ELON) on: May 22, 2024, 02:10:16 PM
This token is worthy enough to gamble. The chart shows it looks so good for DCA.
I agree that it's a gamble but why DCA? Goodluck with that. It's something that I would buy for a couple of hundreds and then forget. It's like one of those tokens that will pump for a few hours before it drops spectacularly and never to be heard again.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How has big wins and jackpot stories affected your gambling habit? on: May 20, 2024, 09:52:06 PM
[...]Have you ever increased the amount you normally used in betting just because someone you know won big by betting with a greater amount?
I would be lying if I say it never did but I already came to a point where I can control how much I should bet on a game or a match. Of course I still wish to hit the jackpot every spin but I'm not desperate to increase each bet.

I often hear stories like this in lotteries. They buy more tickets when they know the jackpot was won.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Deontay Wilder Vs Zhilei Zhang JUNE 1 Heavyweight on: May 20, 2024, 09:43:00 PM
Two members already siding with Zhang so I'm also tempted but betting on this will probably be a last minute decision for me. I want to see how he looks like a day or two before the fight. It's still nice to know Wilder is treating this seriously even though it's not as big as his other fights. It also shows that he's really motivated to win.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is boxing the worst sport to bet on? on: May 20, 2024, 09:34:54 PM
There are certainly fights where decisions were questionable and there were also cases where referees action looked shady as f*ck. The last one was the recently concluded Usyk vs Tyson bout where the ref stepped in on what could have been a KO or TKO win for Usyk. Many observer would see his action as saving Tyson's ass so he could recover.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are confident with your picks, do you win most of the time? on: May 19, 2024, 10:59:08 PM
I feel more comfortable losing by following my analysis than by going against it but I still do that sometimes to break the pattern or the losing streak. The problem is I didn't keep a record so I cannot really compare. If going by memory alone then I guess it's 1 or 2 out of 3 and then I go back to my usual style.
