1  Other / Meta / Re: banned... Bummer... Could somebody give a shout out to my businesspartners? on: March 25, 2020, 07:23:38 AM
Thanks Smiley

I, for one, will make sure i'll never post in any form of altcoin giveaway ever again, no matter in wich subforum or which form.

Since you are back to normal, again thanks to theymos, I will remove the neutral feedback I left on both your accounts. Lesson learned even if I wasn't banned and never posted in any giveaway.Good to know that no one is safe Smiley
Don't forget to lock the topic Smiley

Thanks, i'll lock the topic now, and retire this account.... Smiley

Nowhere in the rules says that you cannot report spam with your alt, even if he(you) only has to post in meta.
I really doubt that you end up more banned because you busted some spammers. There you have something to do now if that's not to boring too. Smiley

Well, the replies aren't really spam to begin with... They're misinterpretations of my words, and people building on those misinterpretations. I'm not going to point out the threads in question, i'd like to make a big reply-post once my ban is done (i actually drafted the reply and i have it in an ascii text, ready to paste as soon as my 7 days are over).

It's just sitting bad with me that these things are happening, my words get twisted, good intetentions get misinterpreted, and i'm sitting here... Reading, grinding my teeth, drafting a message i cannot post for several more days...

I'll probably use my time to test out epochtalk some more, i had https:// blog . mocacinno . com launched before my ban to test epochtalk, now i might have some time to play with it some more...

--snip--
Mprep makes a good and fair point when he says "Rules apply to everyone.". It's harsh, but it's fair.
--snip--

That's true, i already indicated this in my earlyer posts. The thing is: i've read his response, and in this response, he hints that it's his interpretation of the spirit of the rules that lead him to ban 41 people (or at least, that's my interpretation of his post  Roll Eyes). This makes me believe that what he did, he did with the best intentions, but it's still his interpretation of the spirit of the rules... Somebody else can have a different interpretation, and i see no harm in discussing this Wink. Personally, i don't see the net benefit of banning most of the 41 people that were banned. Personally, the odds of me repeating this error are close to 0, but it would also have been close to 0 if mprep pm'ed me saying that i made a mistake and told me to never repeat it instead of banning me for 7 days. It seems most of the people that were banned were longtime members, most in good standing, i believe most of them would have never repeated their misstep if they were just told never to do it again... I'm nagging, i have to stop...

But i digress, i didn't want to start a drama thread, but it seems that out of sheer boredom, i keep re-checking this thread and i feel compelled to answer. Feel free to ignore my posts untill i am unbanned (or however long you want), cause in normal circumstances i wouldn't even drop by in these situations, or just make one post to express my opinion and then leave the thread.

Being stuck at home with nowhere else to go, open Bitcointalk each time and see the same ban message.

Definitely sucks to be them.

You have no idear... I have maybe 3 or 4 hours "real" work each day during this crisis... The rest of the time i have to monitor partitions and check our teams mailbox (4 or 5 mails/day, but 5 collegues are also looking at the same mails and graphs... You're basically lucky if you are the first one to see a problem/open a mail). Loads of boredom...
I made the error of opening my "normal" account and saw people derailing threads and misquoting/misinterpreting some of my posts... Normally i would have replied them straight away, but now i have to undergo everything, nothing i can do...

I left you neutral feedback on your main account with a link to this thread as reference and on your Alt account. I'll remove them when the ban expires.

I never thought that you might end up on the ban list.. Sad You have my support if needed Smiley
I hope this helps Smiley

It helps Smiley I just don't want anybody that deals with me on a day to day basis to think i've ran away... So a message on my trustwall works Smiley

Yeah, i never tough i'd end up on the banlist aswell, it was just one stupid post in a thread in a subforum i don't visit that often... Apparently it was in "games and rounds", not "altcoins", but still, i should have known better. There's no excuse, i've been around long enough to know that a rule is a rule, and if you don't follow the rule (even if it's just by accident), you'll get banned.

Apparently there even was a big discussion whether or not people deserved to be banned by posting in this thread, but i'm not looking for a big drama thread... If i'm banned for 7 days for one stupid post... So be it... The only thing is that due to the lockdown, i'm actually sitting behind my desk being bored, posting on bitcointalk would have been a welcomed change... I promised myself i wouldn't be refreshing this very topic like a maniac, but still, here i am...

There have been other people in the same situation as you. Look at mprep's answer here.

Thanks for the link, i did not browse the rest of meta, since i'm not allowed to post outside this very thread anyways... Looks like i'm not the only person receiving a ban...

I've been here long enough to realise rules are rules, and they apply to everyone... That's why i wasn't pleading a moderator to lift my ban, but merely asking if somebody could give a shout out to people whenever i get a PM or a question directed towards my main account but i cannot answer due to the ban.

During my ban, i'll check my throwaway email mocagiveaway@gmx.com on a daily basis.. Anybody wanting something from me can contact me there for the time being...

Hi Guys, it's mocacinno
here's my profile:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=405464
This is the address on my profile: 1MocACiWLM8bYn8pCrYjy6uHq4U3CkxLaa (it's staked in several old posts aswell)

-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
I am user mocacinno, my alt account is mocacinno_ban

-----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----

I am banned for 7 days because i participated in the bitcasino.io TRX giveaway.
I plead guilty (with an explanation), I accept my punishment an will not post with any account outside this thread for 7 days (since i'm allowed to create an alt for the sole purpose to discuss my ban).

I tought about letting the week pass by silently, but i'm having a couple of deals running on this forum, and i receive a couple PM's from time to time, so i wanted to have a small thread so i could shout out to those people to let them know they were not scammed, i did not run, i'm just locked out for 7 days.

The explanation of my infraction is pretty simple: I'm forced to work from home due to Corona, but there is nobody starting new projects, nor are there people breaking or overloading my servers... Bottom line: it's slow at work, I'm pretty bored... So, to kill some time while looking at machines that were idling, I was browsing subforums i don't visit that often, like the altcoin subforums. It's not that i never post in the altcoin subforum, but just not THAT regularly, so i more or less know most of the rules of the subforum, but not that intimate nor how they are enforced.
I was participating in a couple of free raflles to kill the time, and while browsing the altcoin subforum, i noticed a 1000 TRX raffle. In the back of my mind, I was vaguely aware there was a "no on-forum altcoin giveaway" rule, but i tought a raffle did not fall under this category since it was a raffle, not a giveaway (once again; i'm not being that active in the altcoin subforum, i now realise a raffle is an other sort of giveaway, thus falls under said rule).
I participated in the raffle, not realising i did something wrong, stumbling in a subforum i don't frequent that often... The mod did see the raffle as a giveaway, and subsequently i was banned for 7 days.

I know, ignorance is NOT an excuse. I should have known the rules, i should have followed them,... Once again: i'm not looking to get unbanned, i'll take my punishment and won't commit this infraction ever again, the only reason for this post is to give a shout-out to people that want something from me during my ban.

As a favour to me, could somebody post in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5226618 linking to this thread, and PM Leviathan.007 with a link to this thread aswell? For now, i have the email address from my other business partners, so i'll notify them by email. I'll try not to keep re-visiting this thread and only post here when i get an email notification of a PM i really need to answer, i've logged out my main account (for the first time in many months), so people know i'm AFK.

EDIT: editted my post after joniboini did me a favour and posted in one of my active threads (upon my request)... I scratched out the request to avoid confusion, and fixed two typo's.   Thanks again joniboini Smiley
