1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: October 23, 2020, 11:11:31 AM
Changing the hashrate does nothing to supply, it certainly does not inflate or deflate supply. The amount of supply generated each day / week / month does not change when there is lower or higher hashrate.
With regards to the market : the market punishes most Altcoins at this stage, not just Dash and it does not exclude PoW coins like Bitcoin Cash or Zcash either.

If the market really values competitive mining over less competitive mining, then it would have valued PoW coins like Bitcoin Cash and Zcash higher. Instead they have the exact same price performance as Dash.

You're right. Many altcoins are at the bottom right now. But it won't always be that way. Dash is a very promising and lively project. I believe in the success of this cryptocurrency!
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] ICON - Interchain Blockchain Network / Hyperconnect the World! on: October 23, 2020, 10:54:14 AM
Never loose faith, ICX is one good project from thousands out there which stood the test of time, maybe it won't reach the ATH since the market matures and the fomo from 2017-2018 won't be as hard as it was, but I think Icon have a lot of room to go to $1-2 again.

It is quite possible that it will be so. This project seems to me a really good investment option. And if you already have coins, then selling at current prices is definitely not worth it ... the altcoin season is ahead.

Additionally, we are actually right now having a 20% correction after a 30% spike, so wait for the best moment and buy when the situation with BTC and ETH improves.

It is quite possible that the altcoin market will continue to grow without correction. The fall was too strong.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON: Cryptonote privacy, efficiency, decentralization, and stability on: August 23, 2020, 07:33:41 AM
Monero will likely hit tail a few months before AEON, as it launched before AEON and they are on basically the same schedule, though hash rate changes and such can cause them to diverge a bit.

It is difficult to race with such powerful projects as Monero. There is recognition and a strong community there. But I believe that AEON team will succeed!
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [announce] Namecoin - a distributed naming system based on Bitcoin on: August 23, 2020, 07:15:07 AM
Looking at today's Coinmarketcap and amazed at all these new fashionable coins ... newcomers who come to this market now do not even know about such veterans as Namecoin... once this were very promising coin.

It's not particularly surprising that newcomers to cryptocurrency don't have much interest in Namecoin.  Namecoin is derived from the culture that permeated the Bitcoin community in 2010-2011, which was a culture that was here for the tech, not to make easy money.  Today's cryptocurrency culture doesn't look much like that (sadly), so Namecoin is of little interest to them.  On the other hand, there's plenty of interest in other areas, e.g. in the Tor community.  Even a bit of media coverage now and then.

Real cypherpunks don't worry about whatever market fads are en vogue now.  Cypherpunks write code.

It is very disappointing that no one needs coins that represent real technology ... people invest in DeFi without even thinking that in a month everyone will forget about these projects.

Meanwhile we reach the new bottom.
Keep watching.

In cryptocurrencies, the concept of a "new bottom" is very vague ... I've been convinced of this many times already.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON: Cryptonote privacy, efficiency, decentralization, and stability on: August 08, 2020, 12:07:09 PM
@bitpotter. Also in all of its market history, Aeon's price was 10% of Monero's price. Monero is presently trading on $89 and based in market history, this implies that Aeon might be very undervalued.

Many coins are undervalued now ... but that doesn't mean they have the potential to grow. Although I believe in the future of the AEON coin
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XLM] Stellar - Decentralized trading platform on: August 08, 2020, 11:04:50 AM
They write a lot about Stellar and there is practically no negative. I think that this coin has very good prospects and the price of 1 dollar does not seem so unrealistic to me. Everything is possible. Not today, but quite possibly in the future.

How can I get this BITCOIN 5000 coin if I don't have mining equipment? Will there be an airdrop or bounty?

How many forks are there in Bitcoin? I see only a few in Coinmarketcap and the rest are not popular? Is it worth investing in such coins? Is there a chance of repeating the success of the First Cryptocurrency?
