If you check the explorer there is no hint how the blocks are generated.

DEV hides ?! why ? Is there a secret machine which controls the chain ?

You need to stop being so paranoid lol

Plain pow blocks like I suggested before.. they can keep the chain moving...

Than - which algo ? I tried scrypt and no luck - the daemon didn't accept my blocks - I tried it yesterday evening.

Looks like X11-

Moneta

Moneta (XMT) is a new privacy-centric coin using the CryptoNote protocol (see below for more information). The open source reference implementation of CryptoNote was coded from scratch based on the CryptoNote reference implementation, and is not a fork of Bitcoin.

Moneta aims to be a untraceable digital medium of exchange. It intrinsically has a higher degree of privacy than BitMønt or any of its various forks.

You copy pasted from the ANN that was up for like 30 seconds?
You outed yourself, double check your account before you post next time.

Hey guys!
Pretty sure my node is sync'd and running.  Feel free to use "addnode=52.11.21.72" in your config files.

I've also started tipping stakers; so if you receive a random block of coins, cheers Smiley
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [TEK] TEKcoin 500% PoS/PoW hybrid SuperStake on: March 14, 2015, 03:32:59 AM
is it a Mac OS X version? or just the source?

He has built Windows, Mac, Linux. All work great.

Who is "he"? It's not me.

ARE YOU SERIOUSLY GOING TO SAY THAT??? WHY ARE YOU NOT GOING TO RELEASE IT NOW? IT WORKS GREAT AND YOU TOLD ME THAT YOU WOULD RELEASE IT ONCE I TESTED IT. I TESTED IT AND NOW YOU ARE NOT GOING TO RELEASE IT??? WTF MAN?HuhHuh??

What are you talking about?? I have no idea who you are and never had any conversation with you.
Again, the latest wallet version is 2.2.1.0, beware of the pre-built "new" wallets from unknown source.

well in this case i would say ban him till its sorted out , tek is still in recovery , thundertoe pls take action , biomech help

I saw this stuff yesterday. I was going to ask Noise what was going on, since I usually am part of the testing of any new wallet. Since he's already responded, I'll just second that notion!

Don't know nothin' about it, but I would very much suspect malware. HYPster, I REALLY SERIOUSLY recommend you turn OFF that wallet, fire up the correct one, and send ALL your coins to a new wallet ASAP, because it's likely someone has your private keys. Also anyone else that got sucked in. If you can, build from source in a VM and make a new wallet altogether, then send your coins in your preferred block groupings to the new wallet. then, once it's certain that you have them all, make a backup of your old wallet.dat just for the sake of safety, and NEVER use it again.

Read his prior posts.  He's making up trite lies in an attempt to stir up hype or an even worse phishing attempt.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RE-ANN][TRK] ★ Truckcoin ★ Pure PoS ϟ 200% ϟ Wallet v0.9.7.2 Mandatory Update! on: November 29, 2014, 05:20:34 AM
How do you explain that I was not able to sync on my home cable modem, THEN I switch to my mobile hot spot and INSTANTLY sync, switch back to cable modem, No sync. ALL other of my 7 wallets sync fine on my cable modem. Even truck syncs fine on my mobile hotspot, unless on my home IP. Is there ANY other explanation? You CAN get my IP everytime I post.

Ive been in crypto since Nov of 2013. I have downloaded HUNDEREDs of wallets. Yours is the FIRST and ONLY wallet that can block a specific IP. Thats a FACT!!!

Heres more fact. I did a ping to truckcoin.net and got 100% replies, YET through the wallet was BLOCKED.

Another thing, I guarantee you , you will NEVER find anyone advising anyone to "change their ip" to get their wallet syncing. Go ahead google it. You wont find one page. That was the strangest response Ive EVER read regarding wallet syncing issues, and wouldnt have even dreamed that would work. Ive dealt with HUNDERDS of wallet syncing issues, and NOT ONCE has that been the fix until today, and then 37 minutes later with the SAME IP it starts working after I threaten to slam your coin into oblivion, YES SAME ip address magically starts working 37 minutes after my nasty post.

Vegas

Just so you know- you sound angry, irrational, and childish.  You're framing your syncing issues as a personal attack from someone with no real motive to do so.  Maybe take a deep breath.

The fix for this was already posted Wink  If you get this issue, download and install the 32-bit OpenSSL redistributable from here: https://slproweb.com/products/Win32OpenSSL.html.

The file "Win32 OpenSSL v1.0.1j Light" worked for me.

http://www.silverlaw.com/securities-lawyers/2014/10/silver-law-group-files-lawsuits-against-cryptocurrency-exchanges-bitcoin-savings-trust-and-cryptsy/

Silver Law Group has filed two lawsuits, one against Texas-based Bitcoin Savings & Trust (operated by Trendon Shavers) and another against Florida-based Cryptsy (operated by Paul Vernon).  According to the Complaints, investors have been victimized by deceptive and misleading tactics, such as claims of profits of 7% weekly interest or of a safe and reliable platform to trade cryptocurrencies free from excessive fees and commissions.  While Mr. Shavers raised more than 700,000 Bitcoin in principal investments from investors, those Bitcoins have disappeared.  Likewise, investors with Cryptsy, which CoinDesk has touted as “the largest crypto-to-crypto exchange,” have seen their accounts emptied and Bitcoin simply disappear.  On behalf of its clients, Silver Law Group has pursued nearly $12 million in restitution from these online operators.

All this looks so bad. Is there any good exchange at all?  If there will be exchanges scamming people one way or another every month, crypto will not move anywhere at all.

Thing is, cryptsy never scammed anyone.

That's plainly false.  I have seen (and experienced) a few cases where cryptsy:
Misses a wallet update -> sends out altcoins on the wrong fork -> never reimburses the users.  Read through some old PHS and IFC threads if you're interested- although I can tell you're pretty much a shill for cryptsy and you won't care to look into their faults.

I've had PHS stuck in their glitchy system for over six months, with support ignoring me or shuffling me between "support tiers".  It's the worst experience I've had with anything financial online- and I play money games!  I chalk these up to a loss, aka scammed by cryspty.  I imagine they've done this to hundreds of individuals; "lose" a bit of their coins and keep it forever trapped with shitty support.

I only hope their incompetence catches up with them Shocked)

You call me a shill, I call you a fudrucker, and the cycle of crypto accusations continues! If you think you have a case why dont you contact a lawyer?

First off, a fudrucker?  Feels like you're trying to devalue what I've said with an inaccurate label! This is personal observation and experience through a reasonable scope.  My accusation had validity due to your hugely generalized, naive and trusting assumption ("never scammed anyone").  How could you even begin to make that assumption, are you aware of all deposits, withdrawals, and tickets that go through cryptsy?

Second- it's under 50 bucks, not worth my time to chase outside of occasionally reminding the support of their incompetence.  Luckily I learned this lesson before investing a few thousand into various crypto though!

Here's the old PHS thread on a page with a few people talking about their coins in limbo btw: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=292720.1300

Isnt that what you did when you said I was a shill? I was only returning the favor and garnering another bump of the thread. Smiley

I believe you btw about the PHS I remember there being a problem with their chain. Im just saying dont call me names and id take you more serious.

You took their side in a way that seemed ignorant and naive (this is how I perceive shills).  Sorry about that, I spose I meant to say it was a...

"shilly thing to say"

for the record i'd still play tetherball with you

edit:
Let me reiterate, I dont think they have ever woke up and said "today im going to scam people for some altcoins". Unlike the other blatantly intentional scams that are so coveted by the crypto community.
I agree, but they aren't keen on fixing situations that produce the same outcome of missing funds Smiley

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zimstake (ZS) - NOW PURE POS - No IPO / PreMine - SHA-256 New Wallet on: June 24, 2014, 03:37:35 AM
Hello my Friends I am panicking a bit here. I took off all my coins on Bittrex to send to my wallet to stake but for some reason now the wallet isn't syncing. It keeps getting stuck at 84k something blocks. I close it and reopen it to try to stake it goes down to 80k then suddenly back to 84k something. Please someone help me because I have nearly 4k ZIM now stuck in cyberspace and don't want to lose all those coins. Cry

If the coins have been sent to your wallet, there really isn't much to worry about.  There are some graphical glitches on some wallets, check your debug info -> information -> block count- to see if you're downloading the blockchain.  If it's rising, you should be good.  Make sure you have some memory/bandwidth (if your on a laptop or something) to download it with too.

Otherwise, try removing everything from (windows) C\users\<user>\appdata\roaming\Zimstake EXCEPT for wallet.dat and Zimstake.conf.  Check to make sure your conf file is updated too!  Then re-download the blockchain.  If it gets stuck, wait a minute and restart the client. Should be okay after that.

Good luck!

words

It's cryptsy, they seem to fumble awkwardly with coin updates.  Check out the PHS thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=292720.1300).  There's a possibility that lost coins will remain in limbo too :/

As of 6/20 can I withdraw my CAP from cryptsy?  I've got some there but it seems like "withdrawing" is riskier than keeping it in my account.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PHS][PoS] PhilosopherStone | PoS | NoPremine | Carbon-Negative | 1.6.4 on: June 16, 2014, 07:44:30 AM
Crypsty keeps telling me "hold on, we are working on this" - For one month!!!!!

Same thing.
I guess PHS was the wrong coin to invest in. I lost more than 6-7 POS blocks (because my coins are in nirvana somewhere, or cryptsy is staking them). I "lost" 0,6 BTC buying PHS that i don't have in my wallet and i don't see any help from dev regarding CRAPTSY issue (i am not the only one with hundred tickets). I hope i'll see my missing coins, someday, but i will not invest any cent more in PHS.

So cancel your request.

I did withdrawal of my PHS few days ago and it went through smoothly

http://prntscr.com/3t7cj8

You can't just cancel the request.  It "went through" in their system, but it was really on a fork - ergo some people never got their coins.  I've asked for the funds either in my account or my wallet, and still nothing.  Also, I keep getting referred to cryptsy's "tier 2 technical staff" which - no surprise - never responds.  Here's the cryptsy support circle:

I respond after a week or two after the message with an explanation, "err der no coins" and no one responds until I send the whole "this txid doesn't show up on block explorer, coins not in wallet" message.  After a couple days support responds with something like, "oh my.let me refer you to tier 2 tech support.THanks for using cryptsy".  Sometimes the same person from a few weeks ago too.

They either don't know how to fix it or they don't care to fix it.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PHS][PoS] PhilosopherStone | PoS | NoPremine | Carbon-Negative | 1.6.4 on: June 13, 2014, 11:31:43 AM
I withdrew four days ago without issues.

That wasn't the case for the first half of May, and coins "withdrawn" from cryptsy at that time are still MIA for a few people.  Staff from crypsty- "mullick"- even posted in this thread, acknowledged the issue, and apparently only fixed the devs withdrawal (so that Palmdetroit would think it was getting taken care of).  I'm both wary to grab any more PHS right now, and limiting cryptsy usage as a result.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PHS][PoS] PhilosopherStone | PoS | NoPremine | 10month fair distro | 1.6.2 on: June 10, 2014, 12:29:27 PM
.............

Any advice on if BitJohn, mullick, and all of cryptsy support stops responding about this issue?  Did cryptsy effectively just lose my coins forever and I'm just SoL?  That's how it feels.

I wonder the same thing.... Sad

Mullick is aware of the issue, more so than anyone else, and resolved my problem. He would be the best chance to resolve this issue.  If all else has failed, PM him with the details of the missing tx (txid from cryptsy) and another info to speed it up, and hopefully he will resolve the issue. My understanding is this can only be resolved by someone manually removing the bad tx so you can withdrawal again.

I don't think they are lost, don't give up.

Welp, that pretty much cements it then.  I PM'd him all of that at least a week ago - still nothing.  It has really been a remarkable experience :/

Its a joke site, 12-17-25 votes ? Are you fucking real ?

FUCK, first time MYR hits 500 i am dumping. 60BTC stuck in stupid alts, over 15 in MYR alone. never again. next 2 months i am going alts-free
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOTO] Motocoin | Proof-of-Play | First exclusively human-minable coin on: June 04, 2014, 11:03:25 PM

It should be noted that it was a knee-jerk reactionary decision of a human which tanked the price.  The human was behaving rationally, based on the (bad/incorrect) information that he had at the moment.  Any good trading bot wouldn't have acted until it could confirm what it was seeing as "real" and then would've systematically sold quietly and subtly so as not to affect market sensitivities.  Instead this human freaked out and dumped a load of coins, and then the trading bots did their (now entirely rational) thing and dumped their coins, and then a bunch of other humans freaked out and dumped their coins, and now we have 0.000004BTC/MOTO....

I wasn't talking about trading bots?  I was talking about the bots that play motocoin that allow the limited number of moto-miners who use them to gain an advantage over human miners.

Quote
The rest of us botters were happily trading our coins without tanking the market... don't blame a whole group of people for one person's (entirely understandable) honest mistake.
The point isn't just that the market tanked, it's that bot users (minority) will own a majority of the currency without nearly the same effort as it would take without bots.

Quote
WHOA NOW, our seigniorage is not infinite or we'd all have become world leaders today with our infy moto-monies.  This simply isn't how things work.  We *do* have costs... the energy costs (dollar for dollar) might be drastically lower than, for example, mining BTC, but I am still burning some (slowly increasing, heh) electricity... I still have to maintain computers, pay for internet, keep them housed somewhere, etc.
Right, the same cost as a human miner on a regular pc - until you start multiplying your instances.  I should have clarified that the main cost of Motocoin (to me) seems like it's time/thought, something bots can provide indefinitely if powered.

Quote
Not to mention my own direct opportunity cost
lol, that's exactly what botters take from human miners.

Quote
Let's not be disillusioned, we are not making "loads of free money" here.  (BTW from what I can tell I am actually making far less than the other botters because I throttle my blocks, and they don't seem to be doing so.)  We cannot scale indefinitely for free.  In fact, with each block that passes our expectation diminishes - which is entirely how a cryptocoin is "supposed to work" so this is actually good news!  Cheesy
I'm pretty sure I'm not disillusioned- thanks for that though.  I also never claimed "loads off free money" were being made - just that botters will sell at profit.  Profit (again, to me) means above breaking even.  The cost to bot Motocoins is lower then the cost for a human to mine.
