1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SAFE][POW] Safecoin - Komodo Fork - zCash Privacy on: March 26, 2018, 02:40:09 PM
I've gotta say... These SAFE guys don't know what they're talking about.

I'm all for forking, go ahead fork KMD.

BUT... you better know what you're doing.

Have a competent developer who knows how to code, and maybe how to read code.

Anyone that is familiar with Komodo knows that there are 64 elected Notary Nodes, all of which get EASY DIFF MINING.

Now if you're going to fork Komodo, and not remove the pubkey's of the Elected KMD Notary Nodes, then guess what???

EASY DIFF MINING STILL EXISTS for KMD Notary Nodes.

No attack by KMD community or jl777.

All we have here are some smart people (elected kmd notaries with key's for the specified pub keys), and some dumb people (safe devs who left in pub keys in the code).

If the devs were competent enough to understand the coin they were forking, and to read the actual code, and know that the Elected Notaries have EASY DIFF MINING, then they could have either removed the KMD Notary Node pubkey's, or they could expect to have these individuals mine very easily.

Nothing here was an attack as Jl777 clearly pointed out.

If the SAFE community wants to learn anything at all.... its not to trust the SAFE DEVS with shit.

And don't trust any crypto coin doing a ROLLBACK!

Thanks, xrobesx.

Ok...

Sorry, I should've said   "rollback that has no real security reasons"

your rollback was because of stupidity

I got my first marijuanacoins by using the slack TipBot in Dab Solutions slack.

Does marijuanacoin have its own slack?

As far as I know Marijuanacoin doesn't have an official slack.  Anyone interested is more than welcome to use my slack, Dab Solutions.

http://slackinvite.dabsolutions.co offers both a slack invite and a link if you're already signed up.

Beyond slack, we have also setup a Marijuanacoin cateorgy on the DabForum at  https://forum.dabsolutions.co/category/9/marijuanacoin

Anyone is welcome to use this platform for Marijuanacoin.

Come join slack and get some MAR tips.

can anyone give me a good pool to mine MAR? Thanks Smiley

Dabmining.co has a pool for MAR. I am the operator of the pool.

I mentioned before that I have also added a MAR slack TipBot to my slack. You can send coins to people just by typing "tipper tip @..."

The TipBot also puts every tx on the blockchain. If anyone wants to join my slack, you can tryout the bot.

There is also a #marijuanacoin channel where people are welcome to join and discuss MAR.

To join slack go to,  slackinvite.dabsolutions.co

what will be price on ico?

There isn't an ICO, the coins are already distributed.

I have to agree with xxkaiwaxx,  I've been watching the MARket for a few weeks now and someone has surely been buying up coins.

If you support MAR, lets all do what we can to help it out.

All coins rely on their communities and not just what the devs can do.

I have added MAR to my mining pool at http://dabmining.co

I have also setup a Slack TipBot using MAR running in my slack, as well as a #marijuanacoin channel. Info can be found on the pool if interested.

An explorer is also in the works, as well as something else.

Hopefully the MAR dev will stay committed to coming back in Feb. But the community can still do some things now.

No need to laugh at me, I'm actually trying to do some stuff to help MAR.

I will get up an explorer that actually works. Stay tuned.

I've been watching this coin for a few weeks now. And just started testing it on my mining pool.

I noticed today that the site and explorer were back up.

Maybe he'll stick around.

I am wondering the same thing myself. I would really love some api access for iOS.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: February 09, 2017, 02:46:28 AM
As some have noticed, zcash now has a windows build, so it is theoretically possible to make a native komodod for windows.

https://forum.z.cash/t/zcash4win-beta-is-out/14155

I like to turn theory into reality, so on the same day the zcash4win beta is announced, I would like to announce that komodo has retained radix42, the same dev that did the zcash4win, to make a komodo4win. I dont know how long it will take him, but retaining radix42 is the best way to get a stable komodo4win sooner rather than later. The agreement includes one year of support and maintenance, so we can be assured to have solid support for the Windows users.

zcash4win has SwingUIWallet wallet in it so I hope we can offer it as an alternate wallet people can use with komodo4win. this will expand the wallets available for komodo and for people that want a simple GUI without all the features of easydex, they can use a simplified GUI.

This is really excellent news!! From what I've seen with Zcash, radix42 will be an asset to our community. Welcome.

hi, i have set up, a machine for gpu mining, following this guide,
https://github.com/xRobeSx/kmd-nomp

when i try to connect claymore zcash miner to the virtualmachine, where kmd-nomp is running,
the miner fails to connect.

kmd-nomp is still donwloading the blockchain.

Should i wait till the end of the blockchain download, before, miners can connect?

yes the blockchain must be 100% downloaded before you can mine.

We recommend you use either 'Full Mode' or 'Basilisk Mode'.

Apparently there is some bug on windows when using full mode, but according to yassin the Basilisk mode works nicely.

Was wondering what the differences between these two modes are. Is Basilisk an equivalent to a light mode? Or is there a light mode? I assume I would discover that when installing but just wanted to get the info before that. Thx.

Basilisk is lite mode. You do not download the blockchain, but simply connect to notary nodes.

Take note, anyone running Komodod and KMD-nomp, can setup their own mining pool.

The guide has it setup to run locally for the miners, and the payment processing is off because there are bugs. But someone could fix it  Smiley

https://github.com/xRobeSx/kmd-nomp

Payment processing is off, ok, but if you find a block the coins have to go somewhere, and that is a a main address you set up in the NOMP pool or an address generated by the wallet created by komodod? Either way if you're solo mining, payouts feature doesn't matter as long as blocks rewards go to an address you control, correct?

1% of KMD not sure how much that amounts to. How many blocks is that in 24h on average and roughly how many coins for the same period?

Thanks.

in the setup guide you find a spot to insert addresses. you would generate the addresses in Komodod and then place them in the config file. only the first one is need though with payment processing disabled. so then all of your mining would go to that address, you control it with komodod.

the payment processing allows it automatically send to the private address, then send to a transparent address, and then send to workers.

Is it really to mine KMD by CPU?

Yes, mining by cpu is possible as well!

Simply install komodod and then start it with

./komodod -gen -genproclimit=(# of threads) -pubkey=""

Much easier, but far less chance of finding blocks with the amount of GPU miners already.

For anyone who missed it, the gpu mining guide is here:

https://github.com/xRobeSx/kmd-gpu-mining

I gave metaphilibert credit in my original post, but I wanted to mention fhavik for his help as well.

If anyone is interested in mining KMD with GPU, I have setup a guide!

https://github.com/xRobeSx/kmd-gpu-mining

There are 3 necessary components:

1. Komodod

2. KMD-Nomp

3. Zcash GPU miner of your choosing

Once you have setup Komodod and KMD-Nomp, you can run your GPU miner just as you would with Zcash, but pointing it to your 127.0.0.1:7777 setup by KMD-Nomp instead.

This means you must be using a Linux miner, as Komodod and KMD-Nomp run on linux. If you wanted to install KMD-Nomp and Komodod on a linux machine on your network, you could use a windows GPU miner on another machine and point it to 192.168.1.xxx(linux machine with KMD-nope ip).

KMD-Nomp is mining pool software that interfaces with Komodod. In this case we will be pointing our miners to it locally, but with this software anyone can setup their own Komodo Mining Pool.

If anyone has any questions or needs help with setup, I am available. Feel free to PM me here, or for faster response join the SuperNET slack and message me.

Shout out to Metaphilibert and fhavik for their help with all of this. It was a team effort.

Important note for KMD voters

Pay attention to the Notary Node candidates subsidy percentage!

Notary Nodes are paid monthly. The rate is 500$ per month. This includes the mined KMD, so $500 minus (KMD mined x Marketprice) = BTC payment.

Notary Node operators can lower their subsidy to be paid less, as most servers with the required specs don't cost 500$ per month.

By doing so, Komodo will save BTC! This BTC can be used for marketing/promotion, future development, etc. for the Komodo Platform.

thanks, xrobesx
