Hm, with current Diff of 180+ and  price so low it is not worth  of mining this coin (10 $Cent per day ) Sad
I will still hold my Sys worth of 0.15 BTC in case the price will explode.

Yeah, that's what a bunch of Bitcoin miners said back in 2010....

Syscoin withdrawals have been enabled again now. It seems like the new wallet code is more stable and can run without constant restarts, and the other major issues have been fixed. You'll have to enter your payout address for it again to ensure you're sending to the new/correct blockchain.

Is the port going to be re-enabled for it as far as mining?

I see a few paid FUD's showed up already..  Roll Eyes

Quick suggestion... on the old thread on post #1 at the very top before anything put a notice and link to the new thread, that way any new folks don't have to read through all that to find the new one.

Is anyone mining SYS using Minera?  I have been having a real hard time finding a pool that is compatible with the mining software (and doesn't screw you on the hashrate).

I'm using it with 12 of the cupcake gridseeds on Syscoin.me.. the only problem I had was the vardiff, I put them on the 256 port and it's been working great for almost a week now.

You do realize they are waiting til there is a stable wallet for mining.. I've been on ipominer.com for quite some time, if they say there is still issues.. you can bet there is still issues , I believe its with the daemon. someone should maybe pop in #ipominer and have a chat with the pool Op there. The potential hashrate is huge if you get them on board.

I starting mining with IPOMiner as I've used them before but then they disabled everything and locked the funds.. while there was some issues, it was for a very short time...and then no updates from them,  and no release of the SYS that was already mined...  since they disabled their port and literally a few minutes after the announced  fork I've been mining on Syscoin.me (almost a week now) with not a single issue and received every coin from them without issue..so mining is working.. also great support from them, very active with the community via IRC.. while it would be great for SYS if IPOMiner could update and it would bring a large amount of hashpower if they put it in the rotation and direct port, at this point I am sticking with Syscoin.me for my mining.

Can we remove inactive pools from the list?  IPOminer has not been active since the first few hours, never updated, still has the port disabled and is not even releasing sys mined during those times.

Any updates?  I had to pull my miners for the Syscoin launch, but it looks like a few others are still around..

Home now but will try tomorrow morning, left wallet open to receive (hopefully) syscoin from sysmine.me

FYI you don't need to keep the wallet open to receive anything, it will sync back up next time you run it.

Anybody having issues with their wallets not working and unable to import their coins, and thinks their computers are working perfectly fine, you can send your private keys to me and I'll test it out for you and even send it to an exchange..  Grin  I mean that's totally legit right, nothing to worry about if there is no working wallets and SYS does not work...  Cheesy

Oh and I'll even do it with my 64bit system...

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - LAUNCHED! on: August 17, 2014, 05:03:56 AM
Ok, I'm good for now.. I was able to download and install the wallet, get it to sync, and import my keys (more than one as I'd purchased multiple times) with no problems..yeah Moolah!! also was able to fully encrypt my wallet. (do this ASAP and backup you wallet.dat!!!!)   As a test I was also able to transfer some to an exchange after encrypting and it all worked.  Can't vouch for the promised features yet as I've not tried them.

As far as mining, IPOMiner (which I had an existing account from before) had some issues at first it looked like, but then added the direct port and I've been working fine since then. +1 Since they have been around for so long, and only took a bit for them to be up and fully running.

With the basics done I'm happy for tonight, can't wait to see where this all goes in the next few months.

Maybe have an "early adopter" window where the fees are set lower for a limited amount of time at the start to encourage use and development at the beginning?

Got my P2Pool node back up and running the other day... Turned out my VPS provider changed DCs and thus all their IP addresses. Would have been nice to have an "URGENT" email rather than just a standard "routine maintenance" one, but ho hum.

Also mostly got the kinks in the CPU algo worked out, just fiddling about a bit to make sure it's nice and secure. Considering another change to it as there's no rush this very moment. Realistically it can be one of the last things added to the new coin - implemented shortly before the new genesis blocks are mined.

AWESOME ideas for future musical concepts though I must say - very much in line with how I see things progressing once we sink our teeth in properly!

As far as the miner goes, is it going to be built into the wallet (mine direct from it while the wallet is open), a new stand alone cpu miner, or a plug in for an existing miner program?

Here's an interesting experiment

1000000000 FUNK = 20110 DOGE (according to https://www.cryptonator.com/)

20110 DOGE = 4.27 USD

So, 1 Billion Funk is worth 4.27.

$4.27?  That it! I'm firing up all my other miners, and buying an KNC Titan.. to the moon!   Grin

I'm actually surprised it had any volume over there, no matter how small it was.

Looks like n00bsys0p's P2P pool went down, so the only one up and working right now is 0x0a's... Undecided

I'll ping n00bnoxious.

Cool looks like it's back up as of a bit ago, along with the blockchain explorer...  Grin

Just going to toss this out there, don't know if it's possible without tons of work but..

Lately I'm seeing loss of interest in coins that don't do anything but be coins, or just have a new hash format or avoid scrypt, and/or don't have any purpose beyond tipping.  The newest trends are towards alt coins that can actually do something or provide some sort of service.. the newest of these being ones like SysCoin and Ethereum - applying the blockchain technology to decentralize other services.

Now I have not checked out all the altcoins out there, so don't know if any have started this - but how about a decentralized "itunes"?  A decentralized store front were musicians can sell their works directly to the consumers, bypassing record labels, publishers, Apple, etc.  Coins paid/tipped go direct to the artist, with no fees to anybody else.  Tack on a tipping and reputation system and you get even better... all based off the block chain to keep it decentralized and cut out all the middle men so the artist get max returns.

Downside is that would require a lot of programing and some infrastructure to pull off (mainly building the storefront (The AKA ITunes) side).  Some of these newer coins are coming out with full fledged development teams behind them, the largest being Ethereum.  And this type of system could actually probable be built using these coins/systems. But one dedicated just to music and artists would be awesome.  It's going to be one of those first to market with the most hype behind it things though for it to take off.

Of course somebody could just setup a storefront using Moolah and sell works and then accept any number of coins automatically.. but I'd like to see the whole built in tipping, feedback, etc and interactive community side built in.

Or maybe I'm just thinking too much.  Grin

Honestly guys, something's going to need to change here. Regardless of how fairly priced you may think the IPO is, and regardless how fairly priced the IPO may actually be, investors clearly don't feel the same way. How can a coin like this succeed without happy, supportive investors rallying behind it and building hype? Currently all the FUD is drowning out the positive talk about Syscoin and its innovative features, and that's a shame to see. If something isn't done to quell investors' fears then I'm afraid the negative stigma will continue through the coin's launch, resulting both in less raised during the IPO phase and zero momentum at launch.

huh.. I'm an happy supportive investor and I"m fine with it... and I don't know what fears you are talking about..?  Grin  If you don't like it, don't invest..
