Once we officially launch Soukly.com, you could apply to sell event tickets.

Thank you again for those who recently replied and extended the warm welcomes. MicroGuy, as we move through this process we do plan to remain flexible and open to Alt coins. Must move through the gate first.

Keep an eye on my posts and offerings.

My $.02.

Wink

LD, you're going to go broke giving advice and two cents. Seeing all of your replies with the $.02 made me chuckle.

You have peaked my curiosity with your forum name. I'll be watching this thread to find out more upon your reveal. Welcome to the seemingly growing list of new people to Bitcointalk.

Hi there. I too am new to the forum. Your post caught my eye as I spent some time in SoCal myself. North County SD to be more specific. Oh how I miss the weather and that pier in Oceanside. Great place!

My name is Michael,

I have been following Bitcoin for a long while. I purchased 5 Bitcoin back when they were $5 each, to pay some hosting for a small project I was working on. Needless to say, I made the mistake of prepaying the hosting company for a few months of use. Wish I still had them but hindsight can be a bummer sometimes.

I suppose that transaction reinforces that I believe in the concept of Bitcoin (and other cryptocurrencies) as a method of easy tradability across boarders. While not perfect, I believe it's a step in the right direction. I also love the community behind this idea. Passions abound on both sides, in support of Bitcoin and hairy bears that are just hairy. Emotions and opinions sometimes seem as volatile as the value of Bitcoin itself. Cryptocurrency attraction for me evokes a feeling of danger and seduction, seemingly opening doors to developers that have not been seen since the digital land grab of the dot com days. Remember Netscape? I digress.

This brings me to the point of my choice of forum names here on BitcoinTalk. It represents a project that I am passionate about. Something that I believe will strengthen the idea behind cryptocurrencies and thus broaden options in their use. Since holding those 5 Bitcoins, I have put tremendous thought behind how I wanted to contribute to this community. Seeing Bitmit come and go, I have considered the idea behind a marketplace. In fact "Souk" is the name of a type of open air marketplace. Adding "ly" just made it sound good to me. Rather than following directly in the footsteps of Bitmit however, I decided to begin the construction of a marketplace that focused on a particular niche. Being a huge fan of live events, I settled on event ticket sales for Bitcoin.

I have seen this done in other places. Rather than simply being a re-seller of tickets from one source, we are building a multi-vendor marketplace that allows established ticket brokers the opportunity to sell their stock in our marketplace. We are geographically located near both Phoenix Arizona and Las Vegas Nevada. Beginning ticket offerings in these regions, we'd like to test the process, growing as the community sees fit. We hope that Soukly.com becomes that place where we use the coins we love, to experience those moments that make us feel alive. That's the idea anyway.

I thank you for the opportunity to spend my first post on this forum to introduce myself and my little project. I look forward to meeting many of you as we move through this process in becoming a valued member to this community. If you happen to be a ticket broker yourself, please let me know. We're looking for honest folks to begin this journey with us.

Thanks for reading my post,

Michael
