1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Stake.com] Account Suspended | Proof of funds how to provide? on: January 18, 2023, 09:39:57 PM
Interesting fine handed down by the Gambling Commission this morning for something I see complained about a lot.
TonyBet requested ID docs when people withdrew winnings, having not done so when they made deposits. Fined £442,750...
https://www.theguardian.com/society/2023/jan/18/tonybet-fined-regulator-online-betting-id-checks-terms?CMP=share_btn_tw

About time as well.

"TonyBet also told winning punters their cash could be confiscated
if they did not provide anti-money laundering documentation within 30 days.
While the business demanded that winners went through such hurdles to collect,
the commission found it failed to conduct adequate risk assessments of the business
being used for money laundering and terrorist financing, or put controls in place to stop such activity.

Nick Goff, a professional sports bettor and former industry professional, said:
“It is long overdue that firms were punished for this practice.
It has been happening routinely at a lot of firms for a few years now
."

Stake have covered their asses should cases like this come before any regulatory body.

Or they may very well think they have:

The UK license for stake.uk.com isn't held by Stake.  It's registered to TGP Europe.
https://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/public-register/business/detail/domain-names/38898

This insulates Stake.com from any breaches of licensing, while protecting stake.uk.com from the Antics and abuses of Stake.com

Stake have been condoning and encouraging multi-accounting for years when they were building active player numbers...

Why is it now OK to block these accounts and confiscate funds ??

Ask the players with alt accounts to select one.  Merge the funds into that one account and close the rest..
Seems a bit of a fairer option to me..
I guess it depends on how you use those accounts. Generally speaking, most casinos have no tolerance for multi-accounting. However, those that don't mind, don't want to see you abuse bonuses and promotions. Abusers who get limited register new accounts to continue with the same playing habits after they got busted and limited. That, of course, is not ok. There aren't that many legitimate reasons to have multiple accounts on one casino.

As discussed in my last post, Stake actively encouraged multi-accounting up until 12-15 months ago

The extra bonus's and referral's rakeback etc were used by Stake to entice players to use Alt accounts

In the early twitch streams, Eddie often spoke of how many Alt accounts such and such had, congratulating them on being able to manage their accounts simultaneously.

Then Again, this is the same Eddie who always maintained:

There will never ever be any circumstance where Stake will request any KYC or proof of identity from any Stake player

and

Up until a few weeks ago;
Stake will never ever withhold anyone's funds..  If there are problems, your account may be placed into "withdraw only" mode.  But every player will always be able to withdraw their funds.

When Stake got into bed with TGP Europe, who are actually the holders of Stake.uk.com's UK License, things started to change for the worse..

I PMed Stunna asking him to take a look at this case on 14 December but he has still not been online on Bitcointalk for almost a month.

@genji87
Has there been any updates or anything new to report?

I tried to send you PM for more info, but it wasn't accepted.
Perhaps you could message me.
You aren't a member of their support team, are you? Judging by your post history and the fact you post all over the place, I would say no.

No sorry i'm not

The support team doesn't even like me... Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

If I could just make one observation:

Can OP or anyone please post a link or screen shot of the terms and conditions that applies to the said promotion? We should probably look into that first before we discuss further. The case would be resolved faster if the rule specifically says only platinum VIP members are eligible for the said rewards.

It's a monthly bonus distributed by the VIP Hosts..

If you have a VIP host you are eligible

if you don't have a VIP host your Not..

I have some updates regarding my case.

After almost a month of silence, Stake responded to my email and they stated that they "managed to confirm that you have provided fake KYC upon registration".

This is simply false. I responded to Stake, as you can see in the attached screenshot.
Since they have several selfies of mine, they can also confirm my identity looking at institutional sites where there are pictures of mine.
I also proposed a live call to show them that I am indeed me.

https://ibb.co/p0xyPDX

I have decades of documents proving that all I declared to Stake during KYC is accurate.

I would like to ask one or two trusted members of this community to join a live call with me to verify that I am telling the truth.

You should have sent them an image of a pack or Strepsils.  Apparently these have passed KYC on more than one occasion. Shocked Shocked Shocked Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Tongue Tongue Tongue

On a more serious note:
I tried to send you PM for more info, but it wasn't accepted.
Perhaps you could message me.

Cheers & good Luck

(Edited out)

You ignored Mahdirakib's Question here. Why are you talking about another platform in the Wolf bet thread while they don't force their players to do the KYC? As far I know, You are eligible to receive rain from wolf chat if you are active in the chat. You don't have to verify KYC there to get rain from the chat. Am I wrong? beat me.

They will ask for a KYC if you do violation of their T&C. If you didn't. Don't panic.

Sorry,

I believe I did answer @Mahdirakib's post.  I also included his/her in the users I quoted  ..

I asked the question here to satisfy myself that the same KYC wouldn't happen here.

If there is anything else I didn't answer to your satisfaction, ask me !

I'm paranoid about the privacy of my data due to having had my identity stolen from a poker siTe belonging to a very well-known and well established Bookmaker ?

This happpened in 2018 and took months to get sorted out, I was even arrested at one stage because Bank was accusing me of wrongdoing..  Ironically my arrest made the bank sit up and investigate (but thats another story)

Considering an account with WOLF.BET but cannot bring myself to expose my personal details.  Wondering if KYC were to become an issue at a later date ?
Identity verification isn't mandatory at wolf.bet. And all of their services are available for the users without the requirement of KYC verification. No casino will force you to verify your identity as long as you aren't breaking their terms. Wolf.bet doesn't have huge number of active users (like the other site). As a result the number of abusers aren't much there. Perhaps, they aren't going to create similar rules in the near future.
It can become mandatory. This is rare situation of course but if they believe that you have done something that is against their rules, they could totally ask you to fill an KYC that would require you to give them your information in order to let you withdraw. I am not sure if I have ever seen them do that before, but that's what was talked about and that is only for when there is a shady thing going on by the gambler.

So, it is not like "wolf.bet will never ask you to do KYC", but more like it is unlikely and we haven't heard of it happen before and that is why we assumed that it won't happen but just because it hasn't happened, doesn't mean they do not have that right to ask you to do KYC.
We dont know until they do make it mandatory but if this one do only happens on a particular user then we could really assume that there's something wrong with a particular user but if they would impose it

for all users then we know that they are really that have big change towards crypto users which do really sucks because we dont really like it on the first place but as regulations becomes tight then having these

changes could really be happening in the future but lets hope that it would be not too rampant on upcoming future but you should anticipate for it to happen.

Thanks guys for all your responses in so short space of time:

I do understand that the site has a right to enforce KYC if a player is suspected of wrongdoing, and I totally agree.

But for an unregulated casino, where players deposit unregulated currencies to attempt blanket KYC's which they don't supply a reason for, they don't supply a data protection link & don't explain what the data is to be used for (is it to be sold on, given to other organisations etc), rings alarm bells for me.

What people don't realise is, the security of your data is the only thing online that protects you from identity theft, mounting purchases in your name & fraudulent bank accounts to name just a few.

If nothing else, you need to know the reason your data is being collected & how secure it is going to be kept.

These disclosures are being refused in the case discussed above

I'm happy enough with the information i've received to progress.

Thank you all so much

Cheers
9  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Stake.com adjusting my win bet to 1.0x on: March 24, 2022, 12:41:24 AM
Can you please wait for the response of our support team before you make multiple scam threads. This bet was placed today and the odds say they were adjusted for some reason, wait for the team to give you a response on why this happened then make your threads.

Edit: https://twitter.com/GambitEsports/status/1502278382762999820?s=20&t=kEha4ifdFT90XuH44DQbCg
Our odds provider adjusted all the bets because the fixture did not exist, give us 24h to make this correct and then accuse us of scamming.
They have already provided a reason, and I have included it in this post.

In your screenshot they said that they will double-check for you and update you.
I am waiting.
But until I get a final answer from stake, I would like to keep these discussions open.

You will get paid out, the team is just trying to find a streamlined way to do the resettlement for everyone and has contacted our odds provider. Please send me a direct message if you have any issues.

I may be wrong & this is just my personal opinion, so no live bullets please.

I think the problem was with the betslip language used by Stake or their odds providers ??

If the wording had said "voided" instead of "adjusted" it would have been easier to explain that due to name change the bet had to be cancelled.

just shows.. watch what words you use !!

Can WOLF.BET give any assurances regarding KYC ?

Many users of cryptocurrency (including myself) have always believed in the anonynimity that Crypto brings.

You may or may not be aware that another bitcoin casino has started a KYC process. This process is aggressive and excludes people from extra bonus's
rain, tips etc if they don't want/wish to supply personal details.

Considering an account with WOLF.BET but cannot bring myself to expose my personal details.  Wondering if KYC were to become an issue at a later date ?

Binance been caught with their hands in the cookie Jar  (apparently) :

I'm not usually Right But I might be wrong this time

The SEC has opened a probe into the
relationship between “the U.S. arm of Binance,
the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, and two trading firms
with ties to Binance’s founder.”
Those firms “act as market makers that trade cryptocurrencies”
on the Binance exchange, and regulators have concerns
over the nature of Binance’s disclosures to its customers about its links to those firms

I have a link to the story, but not sure if allowed to post or not?
