hmmmmm, I'm not getting close those numbers with my current setup. The best I can manage is with my original setting of about 84Khs per card and a WU of:

GPU 0 = WU: 72.6
GPU 1 = WU: 84.6
GPU 2 = WU: 75.6
GPU 3 = WU: 72.6

I tried increasing TC to 191712 and adding --lookup-gap 3, however; that dropped my hash rate to the 60's and my WU to the 50's. My invalid % also went up on my mining pool.

Wirly, would you be willing to share your .conf or .bat file so I can give it a shot on my system?

I have the hd7950 Boost edition stock oc is 925/1250
also my system memory is 8gb dram @ 1600mhz
Here my .bat settings:
--scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600 -w 256 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 16128 --no-submit-stale --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-reorder -I 12 --gpu-vddc 1.12 --auto-gpu --gpu-powertune 20 --gpu-engine 925-1100
--gpu-memclock 1250 --gpu-fan 65 --temp-overheat 80 --temp-cutoff 90 --queue 0 --scan-time 1 --expiry 10

this gave me hashrate 104 kh/s,

then changed win virtual memory set to "manual" at "22000mb" (64gb ssd drive) for programs- Not let windows decide and this increased hashrate by 10% to 114kh/s and a WU of 93 to 110 on 11 cards. This surprised me

Edit: now I am getting the occasional random hw error, not sure if this is related to pool difficulty or anything else but wu is still good so I will let it go for a bit and see what happens. Don't want to lower the "cha-ching" rate if don't have to!

Hey, thanks for posting your .bat . I have 4x Sapphire Dual-X (SKU 11196-19-20G) stock clock 850Mhz/925Mhz boost clock. Other than that, my setup looks identical to yours.   I tried this .bat and got my hash rate up to 90, WU rate also increased, which is awesome but...bad news bears - one card went *dead* after a few hours of mining.

I think this has to do with my cards not getting enough power. I see your vddc setting is 1.12(0?), I have mine flashed to 1.113 and I don't think cgminer was able to bump up the voltage through the .bat I'll try flashing to 1.125v and 1.131v and see what happens.

What does --gpu-reorder accomplish?

--gpu-reorder attempts to number the gpu according to the pci-e slots on the mob, just for reference purpose. Be careful overvolting this card, it is the one thing that will fry the vrm, watch out for throttling, a sure sign of running to much power. It would be safer to just find  settings that work. just put engine clock lower until it is stable and accept what hashrate it gives you.

Thanks for explaining --gpu-reorder, previously I figured out the card order by disabling 3 of the GPU's and turning fans on the fourth to 90%. Repeated this until I had the order.

I'm not planning on overvolting the cards, these cards came with a stock voltage of 1.269v, currently I have them flashed down to 1.113v. Bumping the voltage to 1.125 or 1.131 would still be undervolted vs stock settings.

Hi Everyone,

I need some help from anyone who's mining with 7950's. I have 4 Sapphire 7950s and I can't get more than 84khs from each one atm. I've searched this post for better settings, but none of them work. I'm using the settings from page 1.

Is this normal or am I missing something?

Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks
how much memory on mob?

1)Try 925-1100 engine and 1250 mem, also increasing the amount of virtual memory used by windows if you have extra disk space
2) or try increasing thread concurrency to 19712 but you will need to add --lookup-gap 3 with those cards, will proly give you less hashrate but increase in wu with more system ram being used

Hey,

Thanks for the response.

I have 8GB on the mobo and after reading some of the posts I upped my virtual memory to 22000MB. I'm currently running at 1050/1250. I'll try the 925-1100 range and see if that helps before increasing tc to 19712. With scrypt-jane should I be focusing on WU rather than the hash rate?

always WU , thats what pays the bill's

I could overlock my cards for an 10% khs increase .. but only get 1% WU increase ... with  an extra 30% more electricity being used

amazes me just how much more power hungry the cards get for an 10% / 100 mhz increase ...

tho faster ram is more beneficial with scrypt-chacha / N factors

so as far as WU goes, what's the average/expected rate for a 7950?
if you are using the settings I suggested hashrate about 114kh/s and wu from 98 to 105 sounds about right, might depend on your system and memory speed

I found that 1500 mem was overkill, I got the same results with 1250 mem and less power consumption. Also hashing increased by setting engine at 1100 as opposed to just using the suggested 1044. 925 engine is stock oc for your card so cgminer will use that as a low default anyway but I just use the 925-1100 setting and keep autofan higher at 60-85 to make sure the vrm stays cool. I find at 60% fan cgminer does not need adjust clocks much to maintain target temps. I have yet to see them increase in speed and cards are at 60c or so. The wu is important as any less than 90% of hashing means your are producing garbage but wu can improve significantly with some settings even though hashrate drops a bit. WU seems to be more accurate for each gpu after running the rig for an hour or so don't just check it for comparison after a few minutes of mining.

I've come to the same conclusion with 1500 mem being overkill. I'll check my WU% when I get home and report back. I've got the cards undervolted to 1.113v and they're sitting around 51-54C average. I'm also using afterburner for fans/oc.

Are you using a .bat or a .conf for your cgminer settings?
