1  Bitcoin / Pools / invalids when mining on: March 26, 2014, 05:16:33 AM
Hello all,
  I'm pretty new to mining and i have a question. When i'm mining it seems like i always have 2-3 times more invald attempts, percentage-wise, than any pool i am in. it doesn't seem like a debilitating amount but i really have no idea what a large percentage would be. e.g. - in any pool i've been in the pool avg is 1-2% invalid and mine is around 2-4%. Is this a high percentage difference and can i do anything to lower it?

Furthermore, as a relatively small miner, I really don't care. I started mining bitcoin with GPUs back in 2011. Some of those same GPUs are still mining scrypt coins. Later this year, they'll be mining quark, X11, scrypt-jane, vert, or keccak coins. And I'll still be making money.


I have just one rig and i'm new to the game(less than a week). what coin(s) do you think will be the best to spend these couple months trying to mine before switching to other asic resistant alts? or do you think a switch now is prudent?

I'm going all in on CGA. Asics won't be able to exploit it since a rising hashrate could seriously diminish and stop all returns. That's my theory at least. It already goes to almost all zero rewards whenever the nethash goes above a few hundred MH.

i'm brand new to the mining but i've been inundating myself with cryptos for a bit now. since this new knc will yet again smash the little people.
 what do you think are best anti asic cryptos to mine and why?
