Brass ungraded will sell for 1.05 to 1.1 BTC depending on the condition and series. Auction is best if you want to guarantee a sale.

Like yim said 1.05-1.1 is what you can expect for price.

Minerjones is great as an escrow for funds between buyer and seller.

You can run your own auction. I'd recommend having a starting bid of face value, and low increments due to the rising bitcoin to fiat prices. Don't forget an end time with time zone specified.

With shipping, depending on country, you'll probably want someone like ups, or fedex. I wouldn't recommend using anything like standard mail via usps, royal mail, etc. due to the risk of package loss.

All carriers have the same risk in losing a package.
It depends on the service level and location you are shipping to.

This is my biggest concern with shipping. USPS says that they’re registered Mail is insurance up to $50,000 usd

Postal insurance does not cover digital values.. items like gift cards and loaded crypto items
Even private insurances rarely cover things like this... the fine print usually has some kind of disclaimer that omits this class of goods

So what’s the best way to ship a loaded coin?

Thanks for the info. It’s not graded and I would say average condition.

Hey all,

I just created an account so I could sell an unredeemed 2012 1 BTC Casascius. Where do I go about doing that here and what is the best way to do it? Auction? Is there someone that runs the auctions or do I do it myself?

Any estimate in what something like that might sell for?

Also who do you guys use for shipping them?

Thanks in advance for all input.

Edit: was told that minerjones was a good contact for this so hoping he’ll chime in.

Hi , welcome to the forum
If you move this over to the collectibles section of the forum , you’ll get all the answers you need  Smiley

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=217.0

Just a quick FYI - it would help your sale if you had a few pics of the front and back of the coin with your username and date.
Have a quick look around collectibles and you can see how sales/auctions are generally done .
Depending on wether your coin is graded, quality and specifics - hopefully you’d be looking at getting 1.1-1.2BTC
Good luck with your sale
Edit - beat me to it OmegaStarScream

Thanks!
