From the very start of this coin it was very hard to mine solo, The wallets lost coins mined! you had to watch it to see it happen, 2000 coins would drop to 150 etc in the blink of the eye, if the wallet froze and you had to restart it the coins would disappear.
They did not want to know about it!
Even on this current version it can happen.
I stopped mining weeks ago, went from 1200 coins a day to 3000 coins! funny now its spewing out the coins when mining but they are worth nothing!
Why is this kind of blush still allowed !
we need a verification process to ensure the fraudster cant get away with mouthing off bullshit and using the I must hide my identify crap out.

Iam a big miner, still fucked up..
Yeap this and shift ! shift wallet looses coins every hour ! not worth mining same as this now. costing me $10usd a day at 250mh......... Would be an idea guys to get this fixed or loose the miners/interest in the coin. |

Question as i dont fully understand diff changes
Why is diff still high when the net hash has significantly dropped (50GH at some points to now 7.5gh)? I thought it would be lower than it currently is
Its just the way eth retargets.. sorta slow, we could probably look into speeding it up though. Yes please...... as miners change when the diff is too high.. |

Just lost 450 coins, 3/4 of my days mining
re started the wallet and watched it vanish....
Come on guys this is bad......... still not fixed....
So you unlock you wallet (your wallet will be locked within a certain amounts of minutes again), and give people access to it by opening up the RPC port to the public (explicitly setting the rpc server to listen on your external interface)? What do you think will happen? I have heard 2 people in the entire ethereum community, shift and exp talk about this. Will not go into a discussion about this, maybe my co-workers will, but i will not. Seriously, its like leaving your wallet on the street then be surprised if money is gone when you walk back a little later. You must actively perform all this steps for this even being remotely possible. This is not in any way a default behaviour of ethereum nor shift as code base. Regards Joey thats s bit of perception. The wallet is locked I am solo mining. It happens some times when you restart the wallet. Not sure why you wont clarify this or pm me if you wish, I have lost nearly 2000 coins now. I try to send them to the exchange to reduce the losses, I got caught out as I let it go for 24 hours thinking this bug was fixed. |

Might be stale blocks you are finding... narr, I tried it several times each day to see if its fixed, its mentioned further back in this topic its not working. So if anyone is Solo mining please advise.... cheers I mined fine, just the issue with the low peer connections (2 to 4), but I was still on the right chain. I'm mining SHF at the moment, like to switch it up between coins (ETH,SHF and EXP). Yes I have to stick with shift, 250mh = 600 coins per 24 hours for me. |

Anyone know the trick to mining from a computer to an EXP client running on another computer? I'm doing "ethminer -F http://192.168.1.x:9656 -G" and its giving me a "libcurl error 7: Could not connect to http://192..." for your client ( shift) what is in the bat file? --rpc etc etc etc |

You prolly was on wrong chain and mined alone.... check block number, also check numbers peers and port forward

Shift coin wallet does have issues ! if you have your server ( solo mining) connected directly to your modem you will loose coins !! big time! I had to move it behind another router and yes the shift team knows about it.
As for Expanse I only started mining it a couple hours ago etc, will check the tips above ( thanks guys), gets frustrating as power costs are killing me and when you loose your days mining .....

WARNING...... WALLETS loose coins...... just lost 800 coins ( a couple hours mining)  not happy.. same crap as with shiftcoin, the wallets loose the coins..... or back door access..... URGENT UPDATE........ required guys and yes I am using the V3 version..... cheers |

Start Etherminer........ point it at the gexp-windows............. ip and port.
I have 110m mining atm, gives errors Invalid header on a mined block so nothing added to the wallet etc.
if you want to check your balance ( after you have created a new account) use the following command line in the console.
web3.fromWei(exp.getBalance(exp.coinbase), "expanse")
Will wait for release as no benefit in mining atm.

whats with the shift wallet allowing coins to be stolen...... I have now lost hundreds of coins ! account is still locked.... firewall is on........ yet they vanish....... seen it happen. I even deleted the account and generated a new one ! yet still stolen........... again ?? |

GETH QUESTION--
I started Geth with the supplied Windows batch file. How long does it take to download the blockchain? How can I tell when the blockchain is completely in place?
I am assuming that the blockchain is still downloading, the console window has text streaming by.
If there is a web document with information, please point me in the right direction. I'd like to set-up and mine ETH, but the blockchain needs to be in place. I have been running Geth close to 18 hours now.
Any help is appreciated. --scryptr

Its just excuses after excuses I am afraid and not once do they say whats involved nor a projected time line!
The last excuse about solvent coins is a joke!, simple maths can deduce how long it will take and its not long at all!
I found they were misleading during the whole ordeal and the emails from them have no substance just like the excuses now.
Its so simple to have projected time lines and details of whats required, but of course if they do that it removes the excuses as the excuses keeps any deception alive especially when you throw in a little hope for people to cling to.
I work as a data analyst so to me what they state does not make any sense.
