Before you dump that machine, take an image of that operating system, in this way it is safer to get the exact clone copy of that old machine.
Search in a google to find a good disk imaging software, such as Symantec Ghost Solution Suite, etc... then later you can test those dat files on bitcoin core software at any point of time once you get any recovery solution from anyone.

I am just surprised at the fact how come a senior member becomes a doomster of Bitcoin! After viewing you post history, I found you have involved a lot in the bitcoin stock investing. Probably you made some loss so you are despaired of it. In crypto world there are a lot of scams, fraudulence etc. It is fully understood that some ppl encounter it and leave.
Is there any hard core written law that a Senior member cannot wrote like that, Perhaps he could have gain a lot in previous years now he is going down loss with the experience of Bitcoin, that is his own personal view and conclusion, needless to mention here about the grades such as junior, senior or legend. |

I think, there must be some measures to be taken to avoid spammers during any single transactions, by permitting BTC transactions only through the authorized and well authenticated exchange and it should be registered in Blockchain processes and marked all over the network. Any exchanges which are not registered should be deny to enter into the blocks.

I do not think that any one is willing to leave Bitcoin and go, as you said Bitcoin has its own fits and starts, it will re-emerge again to it's own defined value, however do we have to think Bitcoin only as a transaction and exchange purpose, why we forget often to look at Bitcoin as a revolutionary digital currency technology which has high quality features besides the exchange rates.

Chinese never ever turn their central currency to the Bitcoin, but they will re-invent some other crypto currency similar to Bitcoin, this is what they have been doing for years and years means copycat. I do not think that Chinese will face any sort of risk at this current situation.
