1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: January 26, 2018, 02:36:46 AM
XRP cryptocurrency, has just enjoyed a ‘quarter for the ages’ which saw its value shoot up from the price of $0.20 at the beginning of December 2017 to a high of $2.19 just before New Year.
Ripple has also announced partnerships with IDT Corporation and MercuryFX, which both handle money payments on a global scale and will now use XRP to carry out transactions at high speeds.
XRP also became available across more than 50 exchanges globally which ‘was likely a driver of growth’.
At the time of writing, Ripple is worth about $1.32.. Smiley

Actually on some exchanges XRP got well above $3 in December/early Jan.

I think XRP era has already ended. You can see the price dropped in MarketCap. As i already know, the price just pumped by Big Whale for spesific purpose. Nothing special for XRP

Ripple is signing new companies to work with every week. Sure, the majority of them are not using XRP, but some of them are. Big names too, like moneygram.

[Suspicious link removed]j.com/articles/moneygram-signs-deal-to-work-with-currency-startup-ripple-1515679285

As it becomes more and more clear that using XRP will save these companies even more time and money than Ripple is already saving them, they will begin to use XRP as well. The transaction volume of XRP is going to through the roof in 2018.

I short, there are many special things happening for XRP at the moment.

Hello, why you dont likeripple so much, i mean its going to be decentralized? !

We don't like Ripple due to the fact it's trash and speculator coin. Nothing more. Some other coins are tied with a platforms which have a functions but Ripple is just a thing to pump 'n' dump and nothing more.

Thank you for this, I needed a good laugh today. I love it when people get on here and spread FUD about good coins with absolutely nothing to back it up. Enjoy watching the rest of us get rich!

I don't understand why people are saying "XRP can't go up because BTC is doing too well"

Do you not understand that XRP and BTC have almost nothing to do with one another?

Most altcoins' performance are in some way tied to the performance of BTC, but XRP does not fall into this category. It is a totally separate and independent blockchain. BTC's price rising or falling is completely irrelevant when looking at XRP.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: October 08, 2017, 03:32:19 PM

Price is not moving already. I have been buying bit by bit of these xrp every time it dips i wish to see the price goes 0.35USD already. Is anyone tried buying on gatehub?

I use gatehub a lot. It's okay once you get used to it. No matter what I trust it more with my money than poloniex.

I had to manually create the XRP/USD market to be able to trade there. It works well, very low transaction fees, but there is not a huge amount of trading volume so unless you match an existing order you may have to wait a few hours for your order to get filled.
7  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Avalon 721 and AvalonMiner Controller Setup problems on: September 17, 2017, 12:56:42 AM
Not sure if anyone will see this but I finally got my 721 up and running (thanks for all of the pictures and suggestions!), and I was wondering how to go into the settings and turn the fan speed down a little bit?

I only have 1 unit, it is in a well-ventilated area and after running for 24hrs its barely warm, just want to make it a little quieter.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ripple Cryptocurrency Woos China's Central Bank
check this out

I like the content of this article (I am very bullish on XRP), but it's hard to take anyone seriously when they make frequent grammatical mistakes. I'm sure many of you have felt the same way while reading threads on this forum...

http://tradingview.com is pretty sweet

I just started using this site, it's great except for the constant barrage of "Upgrade to Pro TODAY!" popups.

Thanks for the links guys, been looking for a good (Free!) interactive ETH/USD chart.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: September 03, 2017, 10:25:34 PM

Things like this are another reason that I am bullish on XRP in the long-term. Sure it's not decentralized, but the good side of that is that there are literally full-time employees with skin in the game doing everything they can to make Ripple a success. I'm sure they have a lot of things in store for the coming years :-D
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: September 03, 2017, 10:22:47 PM

I doubt if XRP will ever reach to $1.
it got massive supply..

Yes, it does have a massive supply (relatively). And yes, all the tokens are pre-mined.

BUT

What no one takes into account is that every transaction on the Ripple network requires a small transaction fee in XRP (much like Gas for Ethereum). But since there are no XRP miners, these fees don't go to miners. Instead, they are burned. Every single time theres a transaction on the Ripple Network, there is less XRP in circulation.

I'm doubting many people here lack a firm understanding of economics to I'll explain further. When the quantity of a commodity decreases, the price increases. The demand stays the same (or even increases), while the supply is steadily decreasing. This is what's called "deflation" (opposite of inflation, where a currency is worth less and less).

If dudes will remove down, 7k will be reached just in couple hours.

Its a good strategy to put XRP to 0.4c while BTC is 5k, it just requires XRP be 8k, 2.9k away as of time of writing.   Roll Eyes

Can you elaborate? Not entirely sure what you're saying here...

Why is the price of this coin constantly going down. I've been monitoring it for weeks hoping to invest, but the dump scares the hell out of me.

I don't know what chart you're looking at, but I'm seeing it grow the past few days. From $0.21 at midnight on 8/29, to $0.24 right now.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: August 31, 2017, 02:13:47 PM
XRP is the only coin where people immediately point to news articles when on the topic of price speculation. So let's look at it as though it were any other coin. Let's look at the chart. Objective. Inarguable. Concrete.

https://www.cryptocompare.com/coins/xrp/charts/USD?e=CCCAGG&bc=VT&ci2=EMA50

I accessed this chart at 9:55 (ET) on 31 August 2017, so if you look at it hours or days later please spare me your hypercritical comments about what has not happened yet at the time I am writing this.

XRP's price historically responds to one thing, and one thing only: trading volume. This was true in May of 2017 when the price of XRP reached its all-time high of around $0.40, and it has been true this past week or two then the price saw significant gains followed by a correction. As the trading volume inevitably drops off after a spike, the price begins a pattern of reversal. What is important here is to look at two things:

1. After the most recent spike in volume and correlating spike in price, the trading volume dropped back to normal levels*. The price did decrease from its peak, and significantly, BUT it did not drop back down to the previous critical support level around $0.15. This means that the recent price spike actually did help the overall health of the coin, and has left XRP in a better position to make further gains down the road.

*Yes, the daily volume of XRP has increased slightly from where it was in the months prior to this recent spike - but this is due to the increased availability of XRP on international exchanges (e.g. South Korea), and there is no reason to assume that this is not going to be the new normal.

2. In the past 2 days, the volume has decreased to normal levels, yet the price of XRP has continued to rise, albeit slowly. In spite of people on here screaming about banks dropping out and XRP being a fake coin, the price is still rising, and I find that pretty difficult to argue with. (for the record, I am an American, but please realize that Bank of America is not the only player in this game....XRP can succeed incredibly without the partnership of even a single US bank).

Say what you will, but I will be maintaining my death grip on my XRP, and I fully expect this to be the beginning of great things for Ripple. And if I'm wrong, BFD. I have a larger than average XRP portfolio, but not so large that my very future depends on its success.

While the crypto market has its very unique qualities, one thing is the same with all trading: You have to take your emotions out of the game. Think and act, don't react. In my opinion, this is a long-term play. Everyone wants to get rich quick on crypto currencies, but the likelihood of that happening is about the same as hitting the Powerball. Buy and HOLD! If you want to dump your XRP I invite you to do so, so that I can buy it up. Warren Buffet said it best: "The market is a device for transferring wealth from the impatient to the patient."

Nay-sayers will say what they're going to say, but I feel pretty good about my position in XRP right now. Sold at $0.27, bought back in at $0.21, now just gonna sit back and wait for 2 years, sell, and put a down payment on a house  Grin
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: August 28, 2017, 02:42:44 AM
This thread certainly is entertaining. I just don't understand why people who are SO negative about XRP spend their time bashing it here on this forum. It's nice to see that I'm not the only one here who has a positive outlook on this coin. Can't wait to see what happens in the next year or two. I will be holding, and perhaps, buying more  Grin
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: August 27, 2017, 03:55:48 AM
This week's spike in XRP's value was due to a massive spike in volume, most of which occurred in South Korea.

https://themerkle.com/xrp-price-en-route-to-a-new-all-time-high-thanks-to-korean-traders/

So far, it appears that XRP is stabilizing above the previous flat level it was at $0.15, which is a good sign.

Regardless, I agree with people here who say that XRP is a long term hold. Very few coins have the potential real world application of Ripple, and even fewer have actually taken concrete steps to realize that potential.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: August 26, 2017, 03:43:40 AM
I've been holding XRP for months now. Bought in early May for ~$0.20, held it through the massive rise to $0.40, and have been riding the downward wave ever since. Sold a few days ago at $0.278, and just bought back in at $0.22

Was able to profit a couple thousand XRP on this recent spike.

For what it's worth, I believe that XRP is has a great future. One of the few coins with a tangible, inarguable real-world application. Even more rare in that the development team is already working with financial institutions in several countries to realize the coins potential. XRP needs to be relatively stable. Fluctuations like what we have seen in BTC recently would undermine the Ripple system's potential. That said, i think XRP is a solid investment if you have a couple thousand dollars, and most importantly, can be patient!!

XRP is a long-term[/u] play. If you can be patient, I think it would be a mistake to not buy a couple thousand dollar's worth of XRP at the current price and just sit on it for a couple years.
