Any way we could get djm's latest contributions (xcn, etc) up on the release page at http://cudamining.co.uk?

With this thread growing so fast, I think the importance of cudamining.co.uk only will increase as a place where miners easily can find the latest releases (but also relevant donation addresses for devs).

If it's to much work for the devs and bigjme, perhaps a trusted third party in the community could help out to keep it updated.

If you're running windows you can download the latest nvMiner which has all djm34's goodness in it.

Hey Christian,

Do you have anything in the pipeline?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: August 25, 2014, 07:44:04 PM
Hello all
I have a GeForce9600GT
I started mining dark coin , when i run the bat file i can se the gpu hashing but i do never get any shares
Tried a lot of miner versions and all.
Can someone help me solve my problem ??

Att

GIovane

That is a compute 1.0 card and is NEVER going to work with the current miners.  We require compute 3.0 or later at present.
That card also only has 512MB RAM and you really want a card with 2MB RAM (can get by with slowdown with 1MB).

Even if it did work the cost of electricity would far out weigh the profit you could make on it.

Carlo

PS sorry for the bad news

I sent you a private message with an experimental build you can try.

Files sent to me the same.

2 gigabytes model: normal operation.

1 gigabyte model: higher (error)

No they were different.

Did you add the command line switch and try the different options?

If you didn't do as instructed it will work exactly and the formal release which we already know doesn't work for you.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: August 25, 2014, 01:36:42 PM
are you sure you are really using it ?
you need to replace the exe in the standard version with this one.
if the v5 low mem worked for you, then this one should work too

Was replaced by an EXE file.
Normal operation, the program djm34.
 750Ti + 5 way normal operation.
750Ti + 6 way reboot severe (30-60 minutes between reboots, repeat)

I sent you a private message with an experimental build you can try.

Can you tell me which coins you are having a problem with?

I'm working on a revised version of nvMiner D8 that will allow algo tuning for memory use.

Sort of similar to what djm34 was doing by creating different exes.  This version will allow command line tuning which could also be of use on Kepler, etc

On what coin?

wow, there is a 1GB 750ti model?

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: August 25, 2014, 02:31:21 AM
Question 1:
Not included in nvMiner.
nvMiner for now only includes all known ccminer algos that all of the different devs have released.
But it doesn't include the algos in CudaMiner with the exception of keccak

Question 2:
The number is the "average" hash rate submitted.  It is more useful on some algos as the hash rate fluctuates a lot.
Inside the parens is a number dash number or just a number.
When there is a dash you will see the number to the right decrease for each submitted share.
Typically you won't see the "average" hash rate stabilize until this number gets close to zero. But it depends on the algo you are running.

Hope that helps,
Carlo

EDIT: DougB62 responded before me and I think his explanation is better.

nvMiner 1.2-D8 has been released.

Includes Deep, GoalCoin and M7/CryptoNite

Includes small speedups for some other algos.

...there is one dev who is consistently cranking out new code for us without holding back...
Of course I'm talking about djm34.

...So please join me in mining 48 hours for a great dev we owe a lot of profitability too.  Please forward any profits to the above addresses...

So who is with me???

I just went ahead and averaged my mining over the last two weeks and sent 48 hours worth. I've only ever used cbuchner's code, but realize how important it is to say thanks.

Nice!

I support Cayars initiative but the fact is that people don't like to donate (they are not generous or they don't earn enough to be able to donate)

Our good Samaritan definitely deserve the ongoing development fee!( 3%~5% is the least we can do for him, after all he did for our small green community)

I know people don't like to donate which is why I'm bringing this forefront.

Let's not concentrate on the negative but the positive of those who will join in for 48 hours.

Are you in hamer-xx?
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: August 23, 2014, 06:46:04 PM
Guys,

For those of you who haven't noticed, mining profitability has tanked the last month/few weeks.  Yet there is one dev who is consistently cranking out new code for us without holding back.  He either published code or binaries for us to use. If it wasn't for him there would be no coins worth mining right now.

Of course I'm talking about djm34.

He is closing in on Chris(s) for the most algos included in ccminer/nvminer which is no small feet considering the head start of the other devs!  He has also given us code speedups to several of the algos he didn't write.  The most profitable algos you/we have been running for the last couple of months are those djm34 has provided us!

Where am I going with this?

Please do what you can to acknowledge your appreciation for his dedication and work.

Off the top of my head (taken from nvminer and IRC chat) his donation addresses:
      BTC: 1NENYmxwZGHsKFmyjTc5WferTn5VTFb7Ze
      DCN (deepcoin): D7wGWDDrruAVY43xb99M4DkL4GHAnQ3gwp
      TAC: TuqNvPoQxghHfzwnPpAxSTiYoN6FM8LM5p
      BBL: XxqspiA4zCyC4QUJCaEgQzs89DbpgRNQbe
      XCN: CTV1pxHZKRWgdJ9UqcaHG4apnX5deAqZDF
      JPC: JWdVcJZdmdTdFEM1acumNQjrnrx3J7mdec

While djm34 would never directly ask, I will.  What I'd like to encourage all of you to do is mine 2 days with your rigs (big or small) for him to show your appreciation of his work for the ccminer community and the crypto community in general.  For those that don't know, besides his involvement with ccminer he is also majorly involved in the TAC coin/community, Check out the TAC forums for more info.

If you can't spare 2 days of mining then I'd ask you at least mine for one day (24 hours).  After all, if it weren't for djm34 you probably wouldn't have any coins worth mining right now with your nvidia hardware.

In all honestly this is nothing more then a "token" appreciation as he could do what others like Claymore have done and publish binary only releases with built in personal mining.  Or he could have sold miners to private individuals like some other devs or he could have just held back and mined many coins himself like many other devs!  But djm34 has been more then generous with our community!!!

I don't know how else to say it, but djm34 has been the most profit oriented developer we have known. IE his algos or speedups are what you are have been running to make money with your nvidia hardware.

So please join me in mining 48 hours for a great dev we owe a lot of profitability too.  Please forward any profits to the above addresses.

Or if you are mining a different coin, shoot me a PM and I'll provide you with an address you can send coins to. We can either convert to BTC for him or send him the coins.

Note:  All addresses above are djm34's personal addresses so everything goes directly to him.

Carlo

So who is with me???

Let's see some pledges to mine for djm34!!!

Yep and it went from 1% to 2% pool fee also.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: August 15, 2014, 08:51:25 PM
in your batch file after the ccminer.exe or nvminer.exe line add the following:

pause

that will stop the screen until you hit a key so you can read what the error is.

Haha, no. I just change them every once in a while, because I don't like having the same ones all the time.

Can somebody tell me what is going on there http://xcryptonite.org Huh XCN, but website is different, BCN mentioned there... I am confused.

What do you mean "whats going on" as far as Wallet in concerned it doesnt work on windows, it crashed and closes.

yeah windows wallet is not stable and unable to start

Very interesting Hero Member cant fix wallet issues....Wallet has issues since day 1.
Only noobs use Windows tho.  http://youtu.be/yVpbFMhOAwE

Only noobs use Windows? Is that sarcasm?

Satoshi invented and deployed Bitcoin on Windows, the greatest monetary invention of the century, a grand discovery, the blockchain, was birthed on a Windows machine.

:p

OUCH!  pretty compelling argument, isn't it?
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: August 14, 2014, 05:28:23 PM
what is
Code:
const int throughput = 256*256*8;
in the ccminer code
and why it is what it is ?
I mean 256x256x8 ?

thanks.

Same thing as writing = 524288;

256*256*8 just makes it easier from a dev standpoint to understand where the number came from.

throughput is usually the 2nd parameter passed to most functions that use it (threads).

Probably best best is to read stderr output.

Do you have another MB handy? Or another computer handy?
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: August 09, 2014, 06:17:31 PM
@coinits  You should try to hook up a differnt psu. Simple thing to do and you don't need a big one, just enough to run 2 cards to verify if its the psu or not. 450-500w should do it.

What kind of risers are you using?

I'll try the PSU. I have a Corsair 750 that works fine. There are no risers. I have a GA-X79-UD3 from Gigabyte which has 4 slots.

Are your cards ones that are mb power only?
If so that might be the issue. Too much power on the mb

Nope they powered by the PSU. This rig was spec'd out on here and this worked perfect for over 1 month.

Have you tried pulling them all out except for leaving in two and trying just these two GPUs?

If this works add a 3rd, etc.

But would be curious to know what happens with only 2 cards physically present in the computer.
