Running the client for the first time or the wallet for the first time? I've used the client b4, but never had a transaction

I copied and pasted the wallet file from one computers client to the same folder in another computers client because the first computer was having issues with bitcoin. A reputable bitcoin distributor claims to have sent me money to the first client yesterday, but i couldnt see it because the client wouldnt run on that computer. So i copied the file over to this computer and the computer is showing 0 transactions. Help.

Now that I've found it, do I just copy and paste it to the other computer's corresponding folder?

I know this is a dumb question, but I dont have time to search around for the answer. I just received some money to a bitcoin client that wont work right and I need to transfer the wallet file to my other computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This is what i get when i try to open bitcoin:

Exception: 11DbException
Dbc::get: Bad adress
C:/Program Files (x86)/Bitcoin/bitcoin.exe in AppInit()

I havent done anything different lately, and im supposed to be receiving coins soon so i really need this fixed. Thanks!
