1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][RKN] RedKoin - A Glorious Coin For The Glorious State [POLL] on: June 05, 2014, 10:19:45 PM
Mate, do you have any idea what Soviet Union and communism really was? I guess not, because if you had any, any at all, you would not make such things trying to earn money on them.

This seems to be more of an experiment, to see if (transparently and fairly distributed, ala faucet) Proof of Stake coins are sustainable with a premine <= 50%, in my opinion.

I don't see how the OP would make profit on something transparently and fairly distributed, you shouldn't be so quick to judge on intentions.

If the blockchain is available and faucet works well and the coin is evenly and fairly distributed, I don't see how the branding is an issue, it seems to have a lot of potential, especially with memes. Perhaps if someone photoshopped some propaganda, it would help the coin's appearance, as it's a little bare at the moment.

I'll be watching this thread closely as it has a lot of potential from what I've read so far. The dev seems active and involved and ready to answer and questions.
2  Economy / Economics / Re: IRS is going to tax Bitcoin on: March 27, 2014, 03:21:26 AM
If I make all my coin clients operate through tor could the IRS still catch me? I don't cash it out to USD, I make online purchases either in BTC or using gift cards from gyft.com...
I'm worried that the money grubbing IRS is going to come after me for my bitshekels.

Are you aware the US is trying to ban all internet gambling? Also, accept lottocoins so I have something to do with this dead currency... and hey, you might even drive the value of it back up.

I've had nothing but problems with cryptsy. Three hours and still no bitcoin or dogecoin...

I use an IRC escrow bot to do most of my trading. Smiley I started mining back when bitcoins were $36 each and luckily just ended up buying one and forgetting about it. I've been trading it back and forth between btc and alts since and haven't touched a miner.
