Sorry for being skepitcal but these forums tend to make you that way  Tongue

Believe me I understand.. I tried to buy something without escrow and got scammed just the other day. I'll never buy or sell without escrow again, I suggest you all do the same. Especially not if it's a too good to be true deal (this one isnt lol).

He never bothered to reply to my message..new account also.

"he"? New account? it's not new. I have a life other than coming onto this board responding to messages dude..

Lowering price to 2.0 BTC.
9  Economy / Computer hardware / WTS Antminer S1 8x (1.16 th / 1.103 watt kh on: June 30, 2014, 06:49:23 AM
Selling 8x Antminer S1 setup. Complete with 8x Antminer S1 units.

The miners are currently pencil modded and set at 2.8-3ohms. They use ~160watts per miner @275mhz (140gh) using 3x Raidmax 850watt Power Supplies (very efficient). The entire setup uses about 1280watts @ 1.16th at current. The system is not very loud, fans run at low speed, and does not generate a whole lot of heat compared to non-under volted units. A standard 110v 15amp outlet will do fine with this. Nothing special is needed. But you have the capability at running:

1280watts @ 1.16th @ 275mhz (current setup)
1100watts @ 1.04th @ 250mhz

Or remove the pencil mod:

2880watts @ 1.44th @ 350mhz
3600watts @ 1.6th @ 400mhz (would require additional power supply)

Includes:

(Cool Antminer S1
(3) Raidmax 850watt Power supplies

Raidmax 850watt power supply
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152043

The only thing you'll need is a network cables, and a switch with at least 8 available port. I'll even help with the setup if you are local or over the phone if you need. This setup is making at lest 1 BTC a month, next month it will be around .9 but still good. Easy ROI on this.

Total Price: 2.3 BTC

This price is just 0.2875 per miner, and includes (3) 850 watt power supplies (each costs ~$110 USD). This is 10% more hashing power than an Antminer S2 for much less. Must use popular (legit) escrow. Also willing to do paypal, etc. Or if you are located in or near Houston TX I can meet you in person.

10  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [S] 2 antminer S1's for sale - un-used on: June 25, 2014, 05:41:28 AM
You get anything from him? I sent him .175 BTC and haven't heard from him since, was supposed to ship the miners a week ago and provide me tracking numbers. But nothing.. Pretty sure I got scammer. Didn't use an escrow.
11  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] - Used Antminer S1 (0.2 BTC) on: June 19, 2014, 09:10:59 AM
Still looking. Difficulty just increased again.

At current an Antminer S1 will only produce:

180ghps (360watts)
Next 11 days: 0.073964 BTC (44.37 USD)
12-23 days: 0.061611 BTC (36.96 USD)

That's not a whole lot more than you will make if you don't have cheap power. You can liquidate that miner now for .2. Which is more than you will make in the next 30 days (not including power). Sell your miner before it is too late. After the next 5 days I will no longer offer this deal.
12  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] - Used Antminer S1 (0.2 BTC) on: June 16, 2014, 06:35:15 AM
Im located in Texas by the way. Thanks everyone!
13  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] - Used Antminer S1 (0.2 BTC) on: June 16, 2014, 02:10:58 AM
Have high electricity cost made your Miners no longer cost effective to run?

I'll buy used Antminer S1 units. Will pay .2 BTC. Must be in working condition. Doesn't matter if the unit has been overclocked or not.

Will also buy non-working units for a negotiated price. PM for details.

14  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Define "ROI"... "Profit"... on: June 15, 2014, 12:37:25 AM
I think there is too much of a focus on "ROI". Do you mine as an investment? Do you expect to instantly go from BTC to USD? Mining generates a certain amount of BTC. How that translates to fiat at the moment is a constantly moving target (just look at a 6 month BTC price chart). So why the big focus on "ROI" are you investing or are you looking to gain instant revenue?

Last time I checked investing included speculating on future earnings....
15  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: If i have a miner that is mining with 1TH, how many BTC can I earn in a day? on: June 14, 2014, 09:40:53 PM
Thank You soo much. =)

That means about $24 a day ?

A day is not a long enough duration to make any determination. I'm at 1.1th and I make .02 per block on bitminter. Some days i've gotten up to 6 blocks (0.12 BTC), and some days just 1 (0.02 BTC). So keep in mind that the .04 is just an average.
16  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [GUIDE] Undervolt antminer s1 [1.19W/GH at the wall] on: May 26, 2014, 07:52:57 PM
I just set my 3 miners all to 3.4-3.5 ohms.. 300mhz, the load went from 1028watts, down to 690watts. Same exact hash rate. I was running 300mhz prior due to heat issues. So now I am saving 338watts with zero penalty!!! And they are sooooo quiet now!

The difference in heat output is huge. I'm also buying molex adapters to power all 3 miners from a single 850watt power supply. I'll probably get down to about 650watts to power 3 miners all hashing at 155.

All watts are measured at the wall.

Looking at cost:

$2250
S2 1100watts / 1000g/h

~$290 (depending on power supply, etc.)
S1 230watts / 155g/h

7x S1 1085g/h
1610watts
$2,030

You could probably get that 2,030 down to 1800 or so if you were very cost effective on the power supplies and buying the miners. But the S2's value is pretty good. Especially since you are talking about about 500 additional watts from the S1.

I think the S2 is slowly starting to become a better value.
17  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining difficulty slowing down over the next 3 months? on: May 21, 2014, 05:14:42 AM
One thing to factor in is at the moment a lot of the hashrate is coming from small miners like myself (running just 3 Ants). As the difficulty increases the power usage will become cost prohibitive and many will stop (i'd expect) that would be fore anyone running under 1th or so. I'd imagine this accounts for a fair amount of the overall rate. I can't imagine this not balancing itself like any market does. The hashrate CANT increase forever unless the BTC does as well...

i have 2 ponds

Make the ponds bigger, till they drain out you have power - maybe if it rained alot  Tongue   Some energy companies pump water up hill during daylight or times of overcapacity on the network.   Then when everyone turns on the kettle after watching a popular tv program, they pull the plug on the pool and get the extra boost.   Not free but capacity costs and Enron took advantage of this

Yup.. Just another way of storing energy. This is probably more efficient than most. Everyone please stop saying batteries too because they are SUPER expensive and not all that efficient. Batteries are good when space is a concern.

Can you cite some examples/data of energy companies pumping water uphill? That sounds awesome I wonder if it can be done in smaller scale.
19  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 22, 2014, 04:08:48 AM
S1 is a dead product already.
Sorry , but with 2.1w/Ghs is a lost case.
I wonder who buys it today.

I would not go with S2 either.

I would buy an A1 clone for much, much , much less.

 Cool

I'd buy more for the right price. The w/Ghs vs $/Ghs varies from person to person due to specific environmental factors (temp, kwh price, etc.). Here in TX I pay .09/KWh so 2.1w/Ghs isn't that scary. Especially since you can undervolt to something more reasonable. But if I were in California (i'm from Cali but don't live there now), it would be a TOTALLY different story (up to .32/Kwh in Cali).

So if you have any S1 miners you wanna sell because your power is too expensive Pm me! Because mine aint.
20  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: HOW TO MINE FOR FREE OR ATLEAST ON THE CHEAP (LEGALLY) on: April 07, 2014, 03:47:08 PM
Has anyone tried something like this out?  You wouldn't need a inverter...just the PC PSU.
http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-make-any-home-appliance-into-a-solar-electr/?ALLSTEPS

Using a cheap charge controller and a 12v relay could allow from switching from a pc power supply to solar.

Would you really want to feed your miner(s) worth thousands of dollars that nasty power?
That Nasty power would be 12V DC from a battery.. Your Miners will love it  Tongue

Peaks and valleys in the current.

A battery doesn't provide the consistent current you'd want unless it was a very large battery(s), you'd need something to control the voltage to ensure it didn't go up and down. I would just be wary of feeding my miners power like that. Plus the energy lost going to a battery would make the whole thing inefficient. Would be better to just grid tie the inverter.

Grid tie inverters are 'illegal' if they aren't registered with the power company. When they turn 'off' the power or the power is off in the area if you have 10kw powering the line that nobody knows about you can end up killing someone. So you need to have disconnects they can access so they can disconnect your service from the grid. Most modern inverters will automatically disconnect when the grid power goes off.
