I was running the 8-4-2011 pre-release before this and the new 8-11-2011 release yields identical hash rates on my 6950.

You do realize this method theoretically gives you what you're supposed to get for the 16/24 hours right?

The method isn't meant to "punish" pool-hoppers but rather not provide any benefit to do so.

They're not the same SP's.  Efficiency for mining for the 6xxx series is a bit lower IIRC.

Even with the 3% bonus and such, a 900MHz (over 800MHz) 6670 won't push much past 110mhash/s

Same here, it's the stability that concerns me the most.  Hopefully this new server will be happy for the days to come.

I have a 6670 (800MHz version) running at 900MHz and I'm getting ~105mhash/s using poclbm.

One thing this has highlighted is how a lot of people here have no idea how Bitcoin actually works.  It's not always an instantaneous transaction such that even if the btc were sent, it might not arrive in a timely manner when transaction fees are not paid.

You're on S3 right?  We've had a string of lucky blocks (shorter than 5 hours) but it actually doesn't matter with the new SMPPS system which pays out by shares.

You should have a bit more faith after the US server paid out.

The send time will be Thursday but you'll probably see it around Friday.

With eligius all you have to do is input a receiving address as your username and away you go.  I don't have to worry about a password or someone hacking my account diverting the BTC.  It literally is impossible since I don't have an actual account.

Of course, the entire eligius system could be hacked and broken into, but that's a different sort of problem =)

Well, the first thing that attracted me to Eligius is the lack of registration required.  I don't want to have yet another password (since it would be foolish to re-use passwords).

After this, I considered that it had some computing power without being too large.

Finally, the new SMPPS seems to be working quite nicely.

This new system gives me a warm fuzzy feeling w.r.t. invalid blocks.  They effectively don't matter as the slope continues to grow happily until a block is found =)

Haha, we seem to have started off with a series of short blocks.  It might be a while before running into the case scenario where SMPPS actually activates.  Oh well, nigh-feeless PPS is good =)

In that case, it's not too bad to rely on the readout from poclbm if you freeze all other variables.  You can surely spare a few minutes for the crunching to stabilize =)

I prefer to use poclbm for this since it seems to be stable, steady and has low rates of stales/corrupts (it doesn't matter if your rate is higher if you end up with stale or corrupted shares).  Make sure to not have anything else running that could affect the GPU usage (even newer browsers use some GPU for instance) while you're testing and set -f to 1 (or 0) to give the GPU priority.

Average it over a day.  This way it won't be so jumpy.

At this point in time, only the ATI/AMD cards in the 5xxx and 6xxx lines are anywhere near efficient enough to make it worthwhile.

I've been told the 6870, 5770, 5850 and 5870 are particular efficient.

It should look like a regular transaction since luke said he was sending them out manually (ouch).

In any case, hopefully everything stabilizes on the new server and payout system.

Supposed to start Thursday.  The US pool has been paid out and Luke is waiting to see if there were any problems before doing the EU pool.

Keep in mind that he's not paying the transaction fees (for obvious reasons) and so it'll take until at least one block is found by Server 3 before you'll see the transaction.

tl;dr be patient and don't complain until at least Friday evening.
