I have been in communication with FlappyCoin developer. Sorry for silence, last two days have been discussing and changing the plan a little.

This does work out for us all. He seems very mature and is ready to work with us all, has been relinquishing control in small bouts.

This happening is huge. It changes the plan in 3 major ways.

* No Hard Fork. As long as everyone updates by Block X chosen.

* No confusion or rebranding.

* Official support and exchanges/pools are all on board if FlappyCoin dev is on board.

This also allows it to happen pretty much now, or tomorrow, or the 18th like planned, or further on.

Since we have chosen the 18th we think this is still the best day. Gives us time to really update the websites/domains anyhow.

Sorry for any miscommunication or loss of communication.

Last couple days were surprising but certainly not a bad thing. All things considered this is perhaps the best outcome of all.

Thank you,

Main thread: http://www.reddit.com/r/flappycoin/comments/234goz/plan_going_forward_we_have_flappycoin_dev_on_board/

Any details of the plan?

1. capping?
2. halving?
3. any improvement?

The information is out on sub-reddit but just a quick overview of what is occurring but not absolutely final. For a short overview.

KGW Exploit fix has been implemented first and foremost.

There will be a sharp decline in coins. For now there is an effective "Soft Cap" and a hard cap will be implemented soon.

At Block 90,000 the decline will occur from 0 to 1 million coins generated to 0 to 100,000 coins generated afterwards. This is in sharp contrast of the halving structure that normally occurs at Block 100,000 to 0 to 500,000 coins per block. The halving will then occur like normal at blocks 200,000 and onward.

This change should slow down the amount of coins being generated by ten fold, allowing the old coins to retain more value, flow between holders and markets and not just miners dumping the coins. This also generates a slight demand. We are not looking for a pump and dump, but many of the tweaks are being used to hopefully retain or go back to original value FlappyCoin had. Likewise no hard cap is in at this point but since the hard cap was planned at 50 billion coins, and the new halving structure really only produces up to 50 billion coins over a year and a half it is effectively capped for now, and an actual hard cap can be inserted later.

We are mainly focused on working wallets and getting everyone updated first and foremost and getting KGW fixed. This is done and builds should be out Thursday night, with a lot of communication tomorrow and Thursday as well. The entire changeover should occur on the 18th.

The TipBot creator has sent me the TipBot source for reddit so this should work and be easy to set up during or slightly after this update occurs.

Likewise the domain flapcoin.com leads to the FlappyAPI site that was originally to be used for the take over, but at this time it seems like we won't need any take over.

Any further questions i'll be doing an AMA on thursday and answering all questions and getting people together now.

Right now I am currently working on getting in actual contact(Just back and forth on forums, reddit PMs at the moment and have been made a moderator) for the domain release from FlappyCoin.

He is either still running the site, or just releasing domains. Either way works for us.

There is a lot going on, it's quite confusing and I apologise I haven't been able to post more. If anyone who has been helping can field questions in the mean time, or lead to the sub-reddit, or update people on the changes that would be wonderful.

Working together as a community this change over is seeming to become easier and easier. Though I know myself the organization is a little hectic.

For the future of FlappyCoin after the change over is not uncertain. We have a lot planned, but we want the community to help and decide. After the 18th successful launch further plans will be communicated on long-term plan for flappycoin.

Thank you so much for all your support.

A lot is going to occur this week.

Also there has been a lot of communication, but I do have to admit not as much on this forum as the sub-reddit.

That said we got Linux/Mac Compilations working and the only reason I have been slightly silent is organizing for 18th and for this week, as well as old dev possibly being back was giving him a time frame to respond and work out things with him.

Doesn't seem like he may be back though.

So seems like original plan outlined below.

http://www.reddit.com/r/flappycoin/comments/22oene/april_18th_mark_the_day_hard_fork_and_welcome/

This week is where everything get's busy.

Thank you,

FlapCoin Organizer.

Also I have been going through the post, I will start responding today to people who have been having issues and trying to work further with exchanges and pools.

We don't want to do rebranding. It's an easy fix, just a bunch of edits and redesigning the coin.

However if you are truly back, this may work for both of us. After rethinking and discussing with others if you truly want to discuss the future of the coin today or tomorrow it will work with us.

However some things need to be done:

* It is not fair to request/demand the release of all FlappyCoin domains and other stuff like that. However if willing to work at the least access is needed to make this as easy as possible.

* We can discuss changes to coin community wants and what we did so far.

* Discuss terms for a "Takeover" simply enough you'll introduce a new "team" or partnership. However you want to spin it yourself while retaining overall control of what you already have done yourself. For example I am sure you are a great dev, why not focus on the website, compiling, working with developers to better the community as a whole.

* An apology is embarrassing and while we want one, we'll forgo that formality. But what we NEED to work together. This is crucial.

I post this as a last ditch effort to make this as smooth as possible on both of us before the hard forking occurs on the 18th.

Please contact us, and we can work out a plan, work together and get everything up and running.

If you'd like to even update the source earlier, we can discuss changed made.

We forked the source code below on GitHub, implemented KGW Exploit Fix, changed coin dynamics payout to a Soft Cap at this time producing a max of around 50 billion coins over 3 years and dramatically changed coin pay out.

We also have TipBot and possible FlappyAPI ready now. We we're going to hold those things back for after the hard fork or during the hard fork... But after reconsidering and talking if you truly are back and wanting to help please contact us sooner than later.

Thank you,
FlapCoin Organizer

Hey, no forking. We are still here in the project.

You made two posts on this forum since March 10... two posts in one whole month... and the coin is only two months old... you call that still here in the project?
This is exactly what I hoped to avoid, a dead developer coming back a couple days before the fork to stir up stuff.

1. We took voting, community voted for changes current dev won't do.

2. We took voting to replace current dev, community agreed.

3. We have almost everything ready and old ghost dev comes back.

4. Important: I'm not lead dev nor do I want to be. I can easily be a lead dev/organizer but that is a lot of work. Like... Even as an experienced developer it's a lot of work. I will do it. I will be dedicated, but I am not stubborn or unwilling to give back to community or fully give over to new or old developers.

Unfortunately though old dev coming back causes people to have hope. Honestly... I've run 10 OT server and 4 Minecraft servers, 3 websites, and 4 crpytos myself. I'm not trying to say i'm better because i'm not. I just realize this dev isn't back, and if he is... What hope to we have? Still better to go with more experienced.

Which 4 Cryptos have you run? Do you happen to be the noob that made pizza, beer, lady and www Coin? Those were all SCAMS!

This is the response I get?

To be honest if your wondering...

Short moderator/github source contributor to DogeCoin or... Actually you know what... What's the point? Again I am not taking over and I am extremely willing to just.

Actually stop.

Imagine my position for a second. I don't want control, I don't want to lead, I don't want to develop. I can do all those three things, but doing them is a lot of work. I was hopefully just starting the organizing for a takeover, but due to circumstances looks like i'll need to do a lot of the major work.(Most is done by the way)

Again though:

We have community support at least through the subreddit: Name is FlapCoin.

We have community developer support(6 to 8 developers ready to jump ship)

Community wants hard cap/lower payout. We already did that. Old developer is focused on integrated a "game" into the blockchain. I'm not joking, he asked what the community wanted. We said hard cap/lower payout/fix the coin. His solution? Add a game. Like... I... Just can't even process that logic.

Community wants developers willing to work with others. Current dev always refers to himself as "we" leading us to believe it's more then one person. But during a time of sickness all developers are gone for 3+ weeks? That means it was just a single person. Do we even believe he was sick or simply not knowing how to handle this massive crash?

We have exchange support and waiting for pool support.

Community wanted answers. Having a DEV go ghost during a major crash with no answers or no insght whether he'll be back... Just... Well I can't support him myself. I will forever know exactly what this dev is. Because I am HIM. I have run projects where I didn't trust others, didn't deliver, didn't listen. They all failed. Over time you mature and learn to listen to your community, give them what they want, and pass on the reigns to better devs. I learned, but he hasn't yet. Since cryptocurrency isn't a joke like something like running a minecraft server it's not right for us to be subject to bad developers. So we fix it.

What hope do we have with old inexperienced developer who is not used to trusting or working with people and goes on "sick leave"(The entire team mind you) during a crash. That's not okay. If your a single dev you fight whatever you have and at the VERY LEAST update people/let new devs take over if your sickness continues. To pretend to be a "team" and community finds out your a single person... and then all the above happens.... Going ghost for 4-5 weeks really... We just can't trust old dev.

Hey, no forking. We are still here in the project. I suggest you guys stick to the main fork. Will add the KGW patch fix to the coin's source code.
Any update will be pushed to this repository: https://github.com/flappycoin-project/flappycoin

You have 24 to 48 hours to apologise and resign as lead developer or fork continues.

We are fully willing to work with you, and after a specified time frame lead developer can be given back to you.

A new team is set up, you will be required to give access to domains.

A formal apology letter is required to the community, and explaining why you are giving up development, your faults, what you did wrong, and how you will fix it with the new team.

We're not trying to be hostile, to be perfectly honest given the circumstances the new team and community has really given way to many chances. This last chance allows you to leave with dignity and after FlappyCoin is saved come back as leader/original developer and retain control.

This seems acceptable to us.

If you'd like I can set up a conference call bridge, skype group call, or other means depending on how you'd like to address issues with new developers.

Sorry you had your chance unless your capping coin before tomorrow/changing to new payout structure it's happening.

You went away for 3 weeks during a major crash cause you were sick. Don't trust anyone to do work, do poor work, and are concerned with things we don't care about as a community.

You always say "we" like there's more then you. Did you all get sick for 3 weeks? That's weird. We know what you are. Sorry dude I went through the same thing. You are a teenager/starter developer who took on to much work and is reluctant to help, listen, or let people help you.

If you wish to make transition easier you can give domains/release ALL FLAPPYCOIN MATERIAL to new devs. Otherwise fork is still continuing as planned.

Sorry.

This will continue and we have growing support.

* dominodev(Website development)

* jessicadenisse

* Jibrish08

* newdotcoin

This thread will ultimately serve as an area to get all information needed on the change over and what is occuring.

IMPORTANT: TAKE COINS OFF EXCHANGES AND INTO WALLETS BEFORE THIS DATE.

Edit - Any missed pools or exchanges post below. I am attempting to get all that information together and trying to contact all of them as we speak. Feel free to point them to here for more information they will require to.

Edit2 - I ask people to start direction individuals to FlapCoin subreddit instead.

Edit 3 - Added pools, TIPBOT confirmed for initial release.

We can leave this old subreddit die and any new threads simply direct them here. People will see the mass of threads already pointing/discussing changes anyhow. I will continue to update in here as well, but since we will be rebranding as FlapCoin we might as well start migrating in advanced to make transition easier.

IMPORTANT FOR FLAPPYCOIN HOLDERS.

Moving to FlapCoin is going to be a tiny bit of a headache, but luckily 3 steps can ensure you lose nothing and the move will be as painless as possible.

The reason this needs to be said is while moving to FlapCoin could be flawless and we have support from Exchanges to Pools there is a possibility some exchanges may update to late, not update at all, or some pools may not switch.

Due to this i'm looking to get information out in advanced for two reasons:

1. During the switch you may lose coins if you don't follow instructions.

2. We want to prevent the insentive of exchanges/pools to not switch.

Some exchanges seeing large wallets and still see volume being traded will continue to support old wallet is our fear.

That said 3 simple steps can help.

1. Take coins OFF EXCHANGES. This is so important it's not even funny. If they do not update their wallet, any coins you left on their exchange are lost. Gone. No they can't be restored or moved after the fact. This can be done anytime before the switch, but best to do it a couple days before to prevent exchanges from holding funds to long.

2. Hold coins in your wallet on your computer. Do not use an online wallet and wait for further instructions. During the fork we will update when it's okay to move coins again.

3. Move coins back to respective places. If exchanges did not update, don't attempt to move coins to them or you may lose coins. If they updated and devs say everything okay continue using the coins like normal.

You may have 2 sets of coins, but with this transistion FlappyCoin may just become a ghost, so with that said... You'll most likely end up with 2 sets of coins on 2 wallets. Stop using flappycoin, only use flapcoin. Old wallet/network will die, exchanges are then forced to switch in the worst case scenario.

Thank you for any support and we will update further tonight.

What was said is the name might need to be changed.

Devs being ghost means we have no access to domains or anything Flappycoin related.

Source is there, so we COULD recompile and release. But those old websites are going to cause issues. Who's going to update their wallet from a subreddit and everyone who downloads wallet from website would be getting screwed over.

Which leads us to a couple choices:

Do it anyway, explain everywhere flappycoin.info isn't the right website and don't download there putting pressure on people to educate others.

Or

Simply change name to FlapCoin/new website etc. Coins still stay on both forks and it would be a "new coin" but you would continue to keep your old coins from flappycoin.

Forked flappycoin source.

https://github.com/FlapCoin/flappycoin

Minor edits made.

We need to decide. New coin forking in blockchain OR do we work with pools/exchanges to try and update/release new wallet immediately.

We have flapcoin domains, we can just explain flappycoin.info is no longer updated/inform/new posts/bury old posts etc etc.

As suggested I changed payout to adjust at block 90,000 instead of 80,000.

We're considering recompiling under name of FlapCoin with a change of payout at block 80,000. Best case is if ANYONE can contact the dev or knows how, I did the 2 minutes of work updating the code for fixing payouts.

FlappyCoin at 8 satoshis on Poloniex.  Why?  Any news lately?

It's not.

It's trading for 8 litetoshies which is about 1/3rd a satoshie.
Yep that would be REALLY optimistic price. It's worth nothing at all.
I guess polenex and allcoins markets are just imaginary?

I mean are you here for anything constructive or to just point out... Incorrect things?
I'm here to point out that this coin is almost dead and it's not worth any time or money...so basicaly yes.

FlappyCoin at 8 satoshis on Poloniex.  Why?  Any news lately?

It's not.

It's trading for 8 litetoshies which is about 1/3rd a satoshie.

Also do i understand right that in effect you give us double amount of flappy then?
No, a fork in the block chain means two chains will exist. If 51% or more switch which would be likely/best case scenario then old chain dies out. Coins can't be switched between chains so it doesn't give you double the flap. What it does is if you run old wallet software you'd have useless coins on a blockchain being unable to trade the coins.

Because most if not all will remain on this chain (original flap)
No they won't, they go the most profitable chain which would be a cap/halving chain with active developers.

but i could be running a second (hostile) client and dump the confusing hostile clone (flapz) on exchange and get extra bitcoin from fools? (after changing privatekeys for original flap of course) Is that right?
No.

sorry i am noobish and confused. Can someone who is not hostile tell me what is going on?
Hostile takeover is the name, it's not really what it means. It's more of a "Now babies this got serious so sorry teenager/young irresponsible developers you don't wanna run your project we gotta take it from you!" type of deal.

also the original facebook-page has last activity like 2 weeks ago. So not too long. Maybe devs are just busy?
no need to be hostile against something you maybe don't understand. It didn't even halve once.
It's one person, not a group and he doesn't want help, refuses help, doesn't communicate, and takes long breaks of weeks on end.

Developing a project yourself is a 24/7 job for two people. See how I just said you need two people? Cause you can't do it alone. Young developers really get in this habit of wanting it all to be theirs. He'll learn his lesson like I had to and other devs with other projects when younger. You gotta trust others and work with others or fail/lose the project entirely.

So it's time for him to learn a lesson. Hell I am even considering recompiling software and putting code in it to destroy the first 10 billion flappycoins that were mined/change hard cap/change payout structure.

Just so in future if he tried to recover the premined coins/first few weeks the dev gets NOTHING. Cause at this point fuck him.

Which is possible.

FORKING THE WALLET AND BLOCKCHAIN.

http://www.reddit.com/r/flappycoin/comments/22c8y6/lets_release_the_new_wallet/

We waited long enough, devs didn't listen when we asked over and over and told them how to fix the code.

The current developer we have given months to fix stuff, and weeks to do the hard cap and halving. He's obsessed with doing it all himself and obsessed with getting games working for flappycoin. He's... A nutter at this point and has shown many times he's unwilling to do the work himself.

So let's fork the wallet software. You'll keep your coins, we'll get it out of the hands of bad developers, and we can release it with a hard-cap and changing pay out structure.

Looking at source only really seems like a hand full of edits/modifications only hard part is getting people to switch.

If the dev wants to step up to the plate and do it himself now that would be great, but at this point do we even trust anything he puts out?

First he asks what we want. We say "Hard capp, halve the reward, and stop being obsessed about games and exchanges"

We tell him...

His response? LET'S PUT AN EXCHANGE IN THE WALLET AND DEVELOP FLAPPY IN WALLET.

Let's face it, just because the name is flappycoin doesn't mean it needs to be entirely fucking based on flappybird game and trying to force it down peoples throats is kinda bad.

Hell doing a quick survey only 1 in 5 people like the game and rest find it annoying to see/play so why add it to a wallet for everyone? It's currency, games/exchanges are AFTERTHOUGHTS WHEN WE STABILIZE.

Anyway posting this in hopes we can get some traction to get this done, or maybe a few people that would be willing to help versed in coding aspects.
Months? Dude this coin isn't even 2 months old.
Okay weeks then and if you want to be technical since it's inception 2 months ago on April 13th depending on time zone.

No really what did that have to do with what was said? Don't you love when you say something, like something not even thinking and that's what people focus on? Anyway...
