2  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ANN]Ozcoin to introduce fees on: August 08, 2012, 04:01:01 PM
In some ways this is bad, but I see it as good.

I have always donated 5% of my earnings back into the pool.

I don't have alot of hash-powah (1250mh/s) and can't mine much (4-6 hours a day) compared to other guys mining and it makes me sad to see a pool that runs from donations-only have to many people mining with little donation amounts of 0.1% or 0.5% (and many with zero!)

In some ways I feel like it's the right thing to do.

I'm supporting ya Graet!

Did I win?
June is next month?
4  Economy / Gambling / Re: [ANN] Bitcointalk Benefit Raffle - Win a Saphire Radeon HD 7970 - 1 BTC to Enter on: May 20, 2012, 03:44:51 AM
This is what I am willing to do. I am reluctant to change the terms of the raffle but on the other hand I am really busy with another project right now which is why I am not on the forum much lately so I will set a deadline.

I will give this a maximum of six more weeks.

If all the tickets do not sell by June 18th - I will use the first block solved after 12:01AM on June 19th to Pick a Winner from tickets 1-300, if it picks a ticket number that is not sold we will go to the second solved block after 12:01 on June 19th and continue on in that fashion until the raffle ticket number picker picks a number of a ticket that has been sold, as soon as a winner is picked I will ship the prize to the winner that same day.

If the Tickets sell out before June 18th we will pick the winner as described in the beginning

and Either way no matter how many tickets I sell I will still donate 60 BTC to the Forum.

I am sorry this was not as much of a success as I thought it would of been, I will continue to advertise the best I can and I welcome you to do the same and send me any suggestions you might have on how we can sell more tickets.

Thanks for participating, and thanks to those who have showed patience and composure.

What time zone?

Try ozcoin, it uses a DGM payment system.

They typically average 500mhash/s, the other day past 1.4Thash/s

Here's a payout comparison with PPS.

Just use a world editor? EG: MCEDIT?

If you were to bruteforce a single MD5 hash, it would take x time to go through all combinations up to 8 characters.
If you were to bruteforce two MD5 hashes, it would still take x time to go through all combinations up to 8 characters.

If two+ hashes/whatever? needs to be cracked, do them at once and it will take half as long.

I guess you can get where I am going with this. Pay more if you want it done instantly, or less if you want to wait for another of the same type

I was thinking a worker/server system, or perhaps a p2p system?

workers download a file that contains information about the job at hand, after multiple jobs of the same kind (eg, 10 md5 hashes) the work would begin.

Are you implying we base it on a block system like bitcoin?
11  Other / Off-topic / Re: other work for GPU's on: October 26, 2011, 11:46:05 PM
I have a few gpus also.

Sadly I'm not fluent enough in C or openCL D:

I know of gpu cracking programs but I don't know of anything distributed. (besides distributed.net)
12  Other / Off-topic / Re: other work for GPU's on: October 26, 2011, 07:25:04 AM
Ofcourse, we would need to know HOW it's encrypted before attempting to crack it, no use trying twofish when it's serpent Wink

Ofc, this shouldn't matter when cracking truecrypt volumes, unless we are using some extremely fast custom written software.
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: other work for GPU's on: October 25, 2011, 11:44:56 PM
Isn't it unrealistic to hope to crack SHA256?

No.

It all comes down to what's hashed. If it's a whole document, well good luck. If it's a word or two it shouldn't be too difficult if it's just a single hash.

When someone encrypts something its different to a hash though Wink

15  Other / Off-topic / Re: Real Evidence the Freemasons Troll the Bitcoin Forum from SomethingAweful on: September 14, 2011, 02:22:44 AM
I'm pretty sure the moon and the sun are the ultimate authority over the number 12 being significant, even a mason conspiracy can't really forge obvious science.

Derp Derp...DUH!

So the true conspiracy is that the masons invented the moon and the sun.
No the real conspiracy is that some guy convinced a bunch of basement dwellers that if they gave him 10$  they would be masons

19  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / HAF X - Does it have enough pci slots for me? on: July 25, 2011, 10:05:14 AM
I need a case and mobo that will take 3 gpus and a raid card.

Chosen the HAF X and a 6990 and 2 5850s.
I will also have 1 raid 4x (will run in any of the 16x slots) card.

Anyway.

I chose the Asus Sabertooth 990FX Motherboard.

Will I be able to fit all this in?

My fear is that I will not be able to fit it all in.

Motherboard

Case

Will I be able to fit them all in?

Been looking and was thinking I needed pcie 16x risers

Gpus use 2 pci slots at the back each and raid card uses one.

EDIT: Turns out after rearranging the cards I can make it all fit, in order, 6690, raid, 5850, 5850.

Locked Thread.
