Hello, I read bitcointalk once before registering.

I’m not sure if I have time to be active in the forum.I need to take care of my work and my family, but in the future may check the forum regularly at night. Wink
I see your form is neat, can you tell me how to complete such a good form?

I have seen Ratimov create such a list before.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 21 July is going to big for btc price? on: July 09, 2021, 06:08:02 AM
Then your problem is the price of btc.
Then I will analyze the price purely from the perspective of this news.
The price of btc is determined by the market’s buying and selling, so the moment the news is born, it will have an impact on market sentiment.
If it is good news, it may become bad news at the moment when the matter is reached. Instead
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Uniswap V3 is eating the decentralized exchange market on: July 09, 2021, 06:03:44 AM
This actually doesn't matter. I am also one of uni's users.
Although uni occupies a large market share, it basically has no effect on the degree of centralization of the entire transaction information.
In other words, if uni goes bankrupt, there will be sushi and mdex as replacements
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Do You Guys Think About So-Called "Shit-coin" ? on: July 09, 2021, 06:01:46 AM
Shitcoin has been popular for a long time, and the core of their propaganda is community autonomy. But I think this is actually another kind of greater fool theory

All the information that you seek is in the Meta section: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=24.0

We have plenty of sticky threads at the top of the section outing the guidelines of the forum, and we have a search function you can use if you can't find what you are looking for.

As for signature campaigns. If you want to participate in one that pays decently, then you've got a long road ahead of you. As with any job you'll need to build up your experience, and demonstrate to the signature campaign managers that you would be a good investment as a advertiser. This usually means that your account is established for a few years, and makes quality, and well thought out posts.

My guess would be; these days most users would expect to be eligible for a Bitcoin paying signature campaign around the 3 years mark since there's so much competition, and the fact that you would need to establish yourself on the forum before hand.
I did gain a lot of knowledge from mate, the most important thing is that I found a Bitcoin collection.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much did you earn from airdrop? on: July 07, 2021, 09:04:51 AM
Now I never participate in airdrops, because many times it is a waste of time. I prefer to spend time on research projects
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much did you earn from airdrop? on: July 07, 2021, 08:47:36 AM
I have won a lot in airdrops. But now there are fewer and fewer good airdrops.

Their only purpose is to increase the number of currency holding addresses.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 🔥My DeFi Pet Discussion thread🔥 on: July 07, 2021, 08:44:13 AM
I like these pets. It reminds me of the adventure games I played when I was young. I will learn more about the new project. But it looks like the project is currently being upgraded and cannot be operated

10  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it normal to not want to work at all? on: February 02, 2021, 06:58:10 AM
I feel like this ever since I finally got into the role I spent four years working towards. I just want to stay home and be left alone. Every day I push myself to go do my job and it’s demands. I often find myself daydreaming about not having to work or worry about making money. To just be able to not work would be amazing. I think I’m mostly just really worn out from four intense years of study and work and now my mind and body want a rest. I’m really looking forward to a two week staycation over Christmas. Hopefully that eases my constant day dreaming about not working.
Same here. What really scares me is the people I run across that can retire and choose not to. This one old guy who was just past retirement age told me that he had enough money in the bank and a pension which would have allowed him to retire a couple of years ago but he didn't know what he would do with his time. It was the most depressing thing I'd ever heard
What's so depressing about that old guy not wanting to retire? is it because;

a) all that working made him lose his personality and he longer knows what to do with all his spare time
OR

b) the fact that he's old and still working

idk why you feel sorry for that old guy he seems to be in a good position in life
11  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anyone else grow up poor but are better off now and it feels weird to buy things on: February 02, 2021, 03:12:14 AM
Yes. I consider it a skill. If you keep evaluating what you need vs what you don’t, you can save that money for the important things.
I wonder about this too.
I can recall a story in the papers some years ago where an elderly man passed away, and they found, literally millions of dollars stuffed in his mattress.. He was just a regular guy. A trucker as I recall, who simply didn't spend anything.

A lifetime of saving, even on a pretty medium wage can see this happen.

It does seem rather tragic to work your whole life and never enjoy the fruits of that labor.
It most psychological. Like many things there’s a huge emotional component involved. Personally, I once was so poor that I couldn’t buy shoes and now years later I make 250k+ a year. And let me tell you it is super BIZARRE. Even though it was decades ago my feelings about money were developed when I was so poor that shoes were a luxury item. I currently drive a 20 year old car and my pants are more than a decade old and have holes in them. I have tons of money in the bank but it feels so bizarre to spend it.

I can relate to that guy in the story. It’s mostly about emotions.
12  Other / Off-topic / Is it weird to wake up 2 hours before anybody else to have time alone? on: February 01, 2021, 07:27:04 AM
I've been married for 14 years... My wife thinks I'm weird cuz I always get up at 5h00 to read for two hours before the day starts... Actually I don't always read.. I just enjoy these two hours alone before she and the kids wake up.. that's the only time alone I can get in my day... And I really like it.. But I'm starting to think it might be weird or a bad sign... Like usually people love to spend time with their families.. Any married people out there with thoughts on this..?

Edit: THANK you for all the awards I really appreciate your feedback and support too !
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are subtle red flags at a job interview that say "working here would suck"? on: February 01, 2021, 06:22:45 AM
I was once part of a group onboarding for an IT job. They handed us all the one-page new hire "contract" and everyone except me signed immediately. When I read the paperwork, I discovered we were signing a mystery document. Clauses included "I agree to abide by the personal search and seizure security policy (attached)." Without other pages, there was no way to determine what I was agreeing to. I kept requesting more and more pages until the HR drone said "ok, I guess [me] is just determined to hold everyone up. We will handle you separately if you're struggling so much."

After I walked out and drove home, I called the hiring manager to apologize for not taking the job. He informed me that HR reported I had walked out after refusing to be drug tested
10.5k
I was asked to sign a contract that gave the employer full access to my medical records (it was supposedly for drug testing, but worded badly) I signed every other page, and got the job.

Would’ve been very interesting if they felt like drug testing me, and they weren’t able to...
14  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your job and what does your day in the life look like? on: February 01, 2021, 02:17:05 AM
I work in a group home for the developmentally disabled. My day can have several different ways it can go, but its usually just hanging out in a nice house helping out some peeps who have trouble with every day tasks.

Some days I'm a nurse, others a personal chef, a handy man, chauffeur. You name it.
Same and I love it. I work 24 hrs shifts which involve sleeping in the house. I usually get woken up at 5am by a guy singing hallelujah at the top of his lungs. By 7 hes excitedly telling me that the sun is coming out like it's the first time hes ever seen it (hes in his 70s). Someone might throw a mug at me but every bit of challenging behaviour is worth it for the times I make them smile or laugh or push themselves to do something new. The downside is about half my day is taken up with paperwork or talking on the phone to various professionals trying to get them better support.
15  Other / Off-topic / Re: I feel myself getting dumber each day in quarantine. on: January 31, 2021, 03:36:48 AM
I joined the app Hello Talk. It’s a way to chat with people and learn a new language. I really like it for three main reasons:

I want to learn French, so I’m staying sharp by learning a new skill

I’m lonely AF and it’s fun to talk to people

It’s a way to practice social skills with new people (you can send voice notes and things like that)

You should try it! Vous devriez l'essayer!

Also (unrelated to HelloTalk but helpful for staying sharp) - I try to walk every day and either call someone or listen to a podcast.

Here is what I have been doing and how it's going:

- Chess - I always knew how to play, but challenged myself to really learn the game and get "good". I have a friend who I used to think was unbeatable. I've beat him twice now!

- Woodworking - not traditionally an intellectual pursuit, but you develop skills and craft something cool. I started making a board game in December and I'm about halfway done.

- Learn the ukulele - I am a cheap ass so I've been looking at and pricing out ukuleles for months now. I finally bought one and will do my first lesson tonight.

- Listen to podcasts - History, politics, current events, daily news. I've learned so many cool things this past year. Also, you can listen and learn while you are doing chores around the house.

- Exercise - I lift weights and go out mountain biking frequently. For me, this is the easiest way to get out of a moody brain fog.

- Reading - I've read 2 books so far this year in 2021. Last year I read 3/4 of a book.

I was a certified optician and ran a lens lab for Pearle Vision in the early 2000's.

Our most expensive frames, excluding the weird Armani shit we carried, cost us $20-$30 per frame. They sold for $200-$400 depending. Our cheapest frames cost us $2-3 each, and none sold for less $50.

The lenses, that's a lot of markup. I started in a brand new store, and we had a brand new lab full of Essilor hardware. Latest and greatest at the time. Standard lenses, nothing special just the standard CR32 plastic in a typical prescription? They cost $2 or so and we charged $40 each. So a "basic" pair of glasses cost us $8 in materials and was sold for $130.

The worst markup was on the high end lenses. At Pearle (at that time) the top end were the MTPROA lenses. Micro-thin polycarbonate aspheric lenses with anti-scratch and anti-reflective coating.

Basically, if you have a strong prescription (+- ~3 or so) aspheric can make a much thinner and lighter lens that can give you the same vision a thicker traditional lens does. Add in anti-scratch ($) anti-reflective ($) and the cost of the lenses alone were around $400 for the customer. Pearle Vision's cost for the lense blanks? $23.

The entire cost of the Essilor equipment in the lens lab at my location was only ~$250000, and we regularly sold $800+ glasses.

And, the part that I really hate, Mainecare (Maine medicare) at the time wouldn't provide coverage for anti-scratch coating (it was technically an "upgrade"). We couldn't buy lense blanks that didn't have it. My instructions were to strip the anti-scratch coating when making lenses for Mainecare clients. I ran the lab. Guess what I never did.
18  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's the stupidest excuse you heard that turned out to be true? on: January 31, 2021, 01:51:16 AM
I used to work for a huge technology and engineering firm that was installing security systems for a new stadium. The deadlines for everything were written into the contract such that there were considerable penalties for not delivering portions of the scope on time. We were notified that we were in default of the contract for not installing the parapet cameras on the high perimeter of the stadium.

Our excuse was pretty solid: They had not finished building the stadium. There was no "top" of the stadium yet to mount anything on. It was fucking air.

We had to defend that for a few weeks before they backed off.
19  Other / Off-topic / Re: what do you do to keep fit ? on: January 30, 2021, 03:18:11 AM
I will insist on jogging for one to two hours every day, although I don’t know if this works, but it will refresh me
20  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you make friends when you're 30+? on: January 30, 2021, 02:48:52 AM
I'm not 30+ yet (28), but I've had good luck with just dating. We're all pretty lonely and if you go into the first date with the attitude to find a friend rather than a life-long companion, you'll usually have some pretty good luck.
