1337 is moving up also at the alternative market. from 0.003 dogecoin to 0.01 dogecoin which is about 0.2 satoshi, the way to a steady 1 satoshi is still long.
This is great to see, I agree that we are still a long way off to reaching 1 sats again but hopefully it can some time soon. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the new coin will do to 1337 as no one knows if the price will rise or fall and like I said I think I'll swap 50% of my 1337 coins for the new coin and just hold the other 50% to see what happens to the price. i think i will continue to keep all my 1337 and not swapping them. however once w00t will be listed in exchange site we will be able to see the real value of the new coin and than i`ll buy w00t with my faucet earnings, because if we swap our 1337 coins to w00t without it being listed at least on one exchange site its 100% gambling. faucets dont pay much these days, so i hope the swap will be as late as possible because i want to buy as much as i can at low price. Yeah you may be right by doing this and I may also rethink my strategy as I forgot about if w00t is not listed on an exchange right away and it will be like gambling as we don't know if it will be listed or not. I agree with the faucets mate as the earnings are now low due to the price of BTC going up but if you are lucky you can get some Alts from faucets and then use them to buy the new w00t. all altcoins are a gamble, I'm getting a good chunk of w00t with my 1337 it doesn't cost much and theres not a great deal else to do with em. When w00t hits an exchange its likely to be at a higher value than 1337, and it will get on an exchange look how many absolute arse project coins get listed with no possible future and a newbie account launching it. Velvet has proven his dedication and ability time and time again so why wouldn't it? Everyone has made some valid points on when the new w00t coin will be released and I may stick to my first strategy which was swap 50% 1337 coins and keep the rest or do a 30% swap and keep 70%. I think I'll just see what happens and I agree that Velvet has proven him self time and time again and trust in his decisions. Did the SWAP happened already?  No. :-) |

My clock is synced, still no luck. Tried the synctime=0 config flag, still no luck.. I'm hoping somebody with a fully synced chain will upload the complete blockchain somewhere.. :-)
there should be "received block 328fab55032da98664d4" which is #609242, may we see the log from that line on ? That's almost 100k lines of logfile.. :-O I've uploaded the first 5k lines after "received block 328fab55032da98664d4" instead, I hope that's enough ( http://pastebin.com/ZgUwKqnR). I'll try to download the blockchain snapshot from kiklo and sync from there.. I'll post in here to let you guys know it goes. :-) EDIT: It worked perfect, I'm currently at the same blockheight as the presstab block explorer and my node has 20 connections. |

Yes my wallet is 1.6.0.2-g and I've disabled staking. I tried allowing more than one connection, currently I have 16 connections, but I'm still stuck on the same block. :-/ I'll let it run overnight to see if it syncs, otherwise I'll try to get the wallet to sync on a windows computer tomorrow.
i remember now looking at your log that i saw similar crap but not with 1337, 2 other coins, and it was weird 1-block timeshift in database ops, for every request of block N wallet actually received block N+1 or N-1 to process, so no matter the nodes and such, any block couldn't pass the check. sync precisely your pc clock (to time server), if doesn't help try this in your conf: synctime=0 i doubt it'll help but no harm in trying My clock is synced, still no luck. I have configured my client to only connect to Velvet78's node, still no luck.
of course no luck if you are already on the wrong fork, step back to your earlier chain backup (or kiklo's snapshot) and resync That's exactly what I did, I got an additional 20k blocks or so from Velvel78's node, so I'm guessing I'm not on a fork.. ./1337d getbestblockhash

Thanks a lot, that fixed it. :-) yw. still weird that you got stuck. im sure lots of you are waiting for an update and while i dont have exact dates of release set, the next halving of 1337 will be on the 25th of november and w00t will most likely be released around the same time. busy times so my apologies for not posting updates more frequent. I got stuck again the other day had to sync on windows and transfer it across but its going fine again now. Looking forward to the new release and news on the swap? ratio 100:1 APR 133.7% as community voted? I'm a bit worried about the high APR if that's the case, would you consider only having it that high for a short period followed by a reduction to 13.37% ? @Community, what do you think about this suggestion? I think it's a great idea, I have some reservations about the high APR too.. :-/ |

Did the coin fork around block 337906? I can't sync the blockchain beyond that block..  An up to date snapshot of the blockchain data would be very nice to have. :-) |

sorry guys i needed a lil break. thanks for the suggestions. as someone mentioned before, people stake coins because they expect a return. imho 1-2% /year simply isnt enough incentive for users to keep coins in their wallet and stake them and most coins will end up on the exchanges. even with a high apr of 334.25% there are lots of coins blocking any rise in price atm... killing the coin in the process.
Hi dev.. As I see it, a smaller percentage return is a good incentive to keep coins in the wallet.. If I can invest $100 in a coin and get $10 in return in a year, I'll probably keep my coins in my wallet.. If I can get $234.25 in return, I will try to unload those extra coins, either through an exchange or through stake2play - either way, a higher APR will result in more selling pressure, which will keep price down. I think an APR of 10% is a good middle ground, if you invest $100 you can buy a couple of games a year, so maybe 13.37% to keep in line with the coins name.. :-) also, stake2play project is based on the idea that people can buy things with their stakes. so lets say someone invests $100 in the new version... how long would it take till he could afford a $5 game if the apr is 1.337% per year?

Yes, a 1000:1 swap is somewhat radical, but it could help both the old and the new coin to prosper I think.. |

I can't vote, but I say do the swap and here is why:
It could help solve a couple of issues; the extreme inflation and the high coin supply..
Right now, because of the inflation rate and the coin supply, we need to spend quite a bit of BTC every day to keep the price at 1 sat.. If price rises 1 satoshi (to 2 satoshi), we need the double amount of BTC, and it seems unlikely that anybody wants to supply that kind of buy support for a coin whose price is not likely to rally / pump..
If we want the price to rise, we need to reduce coin supply drastically by swapping the current 1337 coins to a new coin with an exchange rate of say, 1000:1, this in itself should make the coin more valuable, per coin..
But we also need to reduce the inflation rate, otherwise, the supply will grow to a point where keeping price stable is unsustainable once again.
If we could get the new coin priced around 100 satoshi or more, it would allow market makers to effeciently make the market move and if they can do that, they provide liquidity for the market, which would allow us to unload our staked coins for instance or to speculate in the market.

It forked again Our current sync: "blocks":483867 blockhash for 483867: 68eeb808b5f47f0d385c1192fc1cd972fb03d74b567bf2b6d08e9b769cf11d5a but http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/1337/block.php?height=483867This is 5th time when we place blockchain files and wallet goes in fork after that. Just to notice - it turned to be impossible to sync wallet daemon on linux debian x64 nor from scratch nor using blockchain files. Wallet disabled. We will wait for 2 weeks and then we remove wallet from exchange if developer will not bring solution. Not at all impossible, I'm running the wallet daemon on 64-bit debian without any issues.. Have you tried disabling staking? It might just work.. |
