1  Economy / Marketplace / Re: 1 BTC reward to someone who can help me with my monitor issue on: July 18, 2012, 07:46:18 AM
I'd say you may have a bad cable, or your monitor is shot. Go with the less expensive route and try a different cable.

Have you tried using 4.0.1 instead? I'm sure you have but it's worth a shot to ask.

Are you running multiple cards on your rig? If so (and I'm not 100% on this), the "Synchronize cards in Multi-GPU config" setting may be to blame.

If I'm not mistaken, clocktweak is a command line based overclock utility available here.

It's not free. It costs 0.2 BTC.

On a side note: Any luck with system restore?

I see most if not all peer connections coming in through port 8333.

Seems like the most used to talking/listening.

Last thing I can think of: Backup your wallet externally and perform a System Restore to when you knew this wasn't a problem.

If you're not worried about losing your profiles, try this.

Download and install Revo Uninstaller (Free Version). Find TriXX and use the Advanced setting while uninstalling. After the uninstall completes, hit next in Revo and wait for it to complete scanning. Once it's done hit next, check everything, and hit delete.

Hit next (or done, I don't remember) and then reinstall TriXX. If that fails, try the same uninstall procedure and install 4.0.1 instead of 4.0.2

Here's what I see.

She relies on the magic software included on that CD to help "configure" her internet settings to automatically associate her computer's WiFi connection to her router.

What she doesn't realize (and is probably too computer-illiterate to realize) is that she just needs to click on the WiFi bars at the top, select her SSID and type in the fucking password. This is a problem that could have been solved in less than 10 minutes by calling a tech-savvy relative or mother fucking tech support.

As for the rest of it: Some college sites' student resources are anal about using IE, but Firefox is becoming far more accepted. And OpenOffice and Office are practically the same thing.

10  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Monitor Temps for multiple GPUs on: July 19, 2011, 02:41:53 AM
Blunt, but I'll take it.

Is TriXX capable of doing this, or is MSI AfterBurner the way to go? Also, is there a way to have AfterBurner clock the memory down to 300 MHz?
11  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Monitor Temps for multiple GPUs on: July 19, 2011, 02:12:55 AM
I'm waiting on 2 Sapphire Radeon 5830's from NewEgg. I'm currently mining with a single 5770 using TriXX for OC and temp control.

Would other OCing software such as MSI AfterBurner be able to OC and monitor temps of the 2 cards individually?

Radeon 5770 @ 935/300: 200 MH/s to 213 MH/s!

I really wish there were more people like you where I live. No one accepts Bitcoin here...

I will most assuredly keep you in mind if I'm in the area!

Seems it's upset with the Ufasoft executable

So long as you feel that the executable was downloaded from a trusted source, set up an exception.

Antivirus -> Scanner Settings -> Exclusions

Add the executable or the whole folder if you feel they're safe.

I suspect your antivirus is acting like this due to the Bitcoin Miner Trojans lurking around the internet. Which executable was it targeting? poclbm.exe?
16  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: What temps do you keep your GPUs at? on: July 14, 2011, 02:31:14 AM
My Sapphire 5770 (Clock: 935 MHz [Can't change voltage] Memory: 300 MHz) with 100% fan on a closed case runs at 70c.

I keep my case open 99% of the time and have a fan pointed right at the card, so it normally is at 59-61c.

Happily running at 211 MH/s, but I want another mining card. Sad

Trust me, I will not base my work solely on the opinions of others. I sincerely appreciate the input, and I'll forge my own path once I gain enough experience and try to draw from others.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Possible Mining Strategy on: June 30, 2011, 11:28:17 PM
Thank you for your insight. I'll consider purchasing the lower end card and seeing if I can at least get my money back for it.
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Possible Mining Strategy on: June 30, 2011, 11:00:22 PM
Thank you for providing that calculator! Taking all that into account, I'd be better off buying 2 5850s (Found them for $125 after shipping). I could pay off the cost of the cards in a little over a month! Albeit the net gain isn't as substantial...I could still make a profit!

Any idea what the growth rate may be after these few months?
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Possible Mining Strategy on: June 30, 2011, 10:10:55 PM
We would be running the rig(s) out of my workplace with their permission. So electricity and A/C are less of an issue (They'd be fully aware of the costs). Assuming the cards don't fail in the 2 1/2 months it takes to pay them off, then it's a profit for me.
