Yes it would be interesting to know how those figures are calculated but it won't change the fact that there is no sure-fire way to predict the profitability of a profit-switching pool like clevermining or Wafflepool.  If I could, I would be a rich man!

Sites like poolpicker.eu based their data on past days performance.   With Wafflepool and Clevemining you can see the partial data for today but really the hourly numbers go up and down so much that it is hard to predict where you will end up.  i.e. Clevermining is doing 0.0006 BTC/MH today for the first 14 hours so you decide to switch to them - but they end up only doing 0.0005 for the rest of the day so that is what you would get paid. Nicehash is really the only one but even with them if puts in or pull a large orders, or if a bunch of miners jump onto the pool, your current payout could change very quickly.

It is pretty much a guessing game - although nicehash has been the most consistent for me and it generally the safest bet.

As of today (6th - Im in Sydney Australia), i had been using wafflepool, and consistantly getting:

Falcons - 0.0179
War machines - 0.0361

However, immediately after I got paid, the payouts changed to:

Falcons - 0.0119
War machines - 0.024

The numbers in the ZenPortal are based on the previous day profitability - not sure if it is realtime or how often they are updated but your numbers seem consistent with the previous two days from wafflepool's stats:
http://wafflepool.com/stats

Date   BTC   Hashrate   BTC / 1MH   vs LTC
Aug 05, 2014   6.99234399   15.57 GH/s   0.00044911   88%
Aug 04, 2014   7.39275728   10.96 GH/s   0.00067448   132%

Yesterday (based on Aug 4th numbers)
Falcon = 0.00067448 * 27 = 0.0182
War Machine = 0.00067448 * 543 = 0.0364

Today (based on Aug 5th numbers)
Falcon = 0.00044911 * 27 = 0.0121
War Machine = 0.00044911 * 54 = 0.0242

Those number in the Zen Portal are only of use to determine past performance and really not that useful for determining the current performance of the pool or to estimate the payout.   I believe realtime profitability stats for the pools in on their "to-do" list but right now the numbers are kinda useless because if the pool has a great day yesterday, it doesn't mean it will have a good day today.  Even the hourly numbers that Wafflepool and Clevermining provide are not that useful for determining how profitable it will be for the rest of the day if you are not already mining with them. I prefer nicehash because you kinda determine how profitable it will be based on the orders they have

A little update now, version 7.1: https://www.dropbox.com/s/029gt5jk4tt8a2y/xpmclient_v7_1.tar.gz

~13,45CPD on stock Sapphire Tri-X Radeon R9 290X.

having issues with v7.1 - seems to just hang on the connecting to pool part.  Tried it on a couple machines and it does the same on all of them. All running windows 8.1 and have 6 x R9 280X.  Anyone else experiencing the same issues?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Primecoin GPU miner: 8.3 CPD on a 280x / pool version on: July 08, 2014, 02:11:58 AM
Version 4.0 is available.

CPD now is 9.1 on a 280x (clock: 1040/1500).
Also, we reduced our dev.fee to 2%.

The new version supports switching to a secondary pool if something is wrong with the main one.
Currently we support 2 pools: hash.camp and ypool.net
BTW, hash.camp is a 0% pool ATM.

Command lines for the two-pool config:
hash.camp as a main pool and ypool.net as a backup:
primegpu-pool.exe -o2 ypool.net -u2 YPOOL_USERNAME -p x -o xpm.hash.camp -u XPM_ADDRESS

ypool.net as a main pool and hash.camp as a backup:
primegpu-pool.exe -o ypool.net -u YPOOL_USERNAME -p x -o2 xpm.hash.camp -u2 XPM_ADDRESS

Links:
Dev.fee version: http://primegpu.com/files/primegpu-pool.zip
Paid version: http://primegpu.com/files/primegpu-pool-paid.zip

Good job - getting good speeds with my 6-card 280x setup - around 54-55 cpd.

One question though - the paid version also is showing a 2% dev fee on ypool - is that suppose to be the case?

Thanks

is the pool down?

Can you please provide a link to this windows miner that is ready to use?  All I see is the link on the front that is to the github source.  Sorry, I must be blind.

Edit: also, I think the issue may also be with the sense that I want to modify the source to try out solo server: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=602292.msg6733542#msg6733542

from the first post - these are for the solo server:

The solo-mining server binaries can be downloaded at:
For Windows: https://mega.co.nz/#!hRAmGRAQ!cbYlm-meXprzImw-vQ5COnBQiWtgPFXJeJtTs-041AI
For Linux: https://mega.co.nz/#!NZAHWC6b!FyeF6aKZ32KPs_Ns0NwZsEGaOWkNAlwfSz76hO-Dg_k
Note: The windows version crashes on shutdown, have not been able to fix this.

Similar experience here.
13.12 works fine for 79XX / 280X but not with my r9 290s.  Gives an error and closes unless I use 14.x with them

did you tried using 13,12 modded drivers?

yes 13.12 = 13.12 modded

i uses 13.12 modded as the standard driver on all my 6 GPU rigs but with this particular miner for my R9 290s, it only works with 14.x drivers so for now i run it with 5 GPU.  13.12 modded works fine with my 6 GPU 79XX / 280X rigs though

What cpuusage you use? 9 or 11?

With two cards on the G3220 i use 5, with 5-6 cards it is all the way down to 2

Can't use 9 or 11 unless you have a power GPU like a Core i7
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore XPM GPU Miner discussion on: April 11, 2014, 02:17:13 PM
you don't think 10% is a bit toomuch? plus i like the electricity savings

10% it's high but there's nothing more profitable than xpm in no brain mining mode at the moment...

i don't mind donating to Claymore, you think if all my gpus will be on nofee0 ill be making more profits?

Yes, as Claymore said you should be making 15% more (25% more - 10% dev fee)

I found the biggest improvement in v2.0 was the CPU usage so I won't be surprised if some of those optimizations that are disabled with the no fee option is related to the CPU usage.   If you have a multi-card rig where the CPU is the bottleneck, donating is kinda of a no-brainer, unless you don't mid making 15% less.

I got been running this miner on several rigs for the last couple days:

Pentium G3220
2 x HD7950

Primecoin GPU miner ver. 1.03
-----------------------------
Mining time: 25.89 hours
Est. Average Chains Per Day (CPD): 1.79
Est. Spot    Chains Per Day (CPD): 1.82

Pass: 28717
GPU #0   time: 316
GPU #1   time: 313

10-ch   found: 4         expected: 1.933
blocks  found: 2         expected: 0.824

Pentium G3220
5 x R9 280X

Primecoin GPU miner ver. 1.03
-----------------------------
Mining time: 8.94 hours
Est. Average Chains Per Day (CPD): 5.18
Est. Spot    Chains Per Day (CPD): 5.27

Pass: 11658
GPU #0   time: 266
GPU #1   time: 243
GPU #2   time: 243
GPU #3   time: 244
GPU #4   time: 241

10-ch   found: 4         expected: 1.927
blocks  found: 4         expected: 0.821

Considering that that most of the rigs have be held back by the weak CPU, i been pretty happy with the results so far. The 5 card one above has just been really lucky but even on the less luckier rigs they are averaging about  2-3 blocks per rig.

Half my rigs are running this Prime GPU miner and half are using Claymore's yPool one. Honestly, I been happy with both after around 3 days, this one is outperforming yPool but a factor of 2:1.  Can't wait to see what it can do after the next round of optimization.

But ya, solo mining can test your patience especially when you go thru long periods of without finding any blocks.
