Been a while for this wallet fix... coin dead?
Sorry to say, more than likely yes
No leadership or devs willing to do that work needed in a timely manner.

As some of you know, the LUX wallet currently has problems saving new data, and that has been a major problem for users. Wallets are not able to be re-opened after closing without manually deleting the old blockchain data and starting from scratch or syncing a backup/bootstrap. We are unable to update the bootstrap (due to this same problem), so the sync time takes longer to get your wallet synced up after a successful launch. On top of the major inconvenience to users, this also creates issues with chain stability. We have asked our devs to look at the problem from several different alternatives, from fixing the issue we are currently having to upgrading the codebase. The devs have been examining the problem and all options. We will keep you informed of what they are able to come up with. We apologize for the issues and appreciate your understanding.

We are happy to announce Luxcore has appointed a new Communications Director! Graslo has been a long time member of this community and previously served as Luxcore's Community Ambassador. Graslo will be tasked with providing more regular updates to the community, among other things. We are preparing an update for you on the status of LUX and where we see this project fitting in the broader crypto market. Expect that update this week. Thank you for your patience!

We have just released a new update (v5.5.1) for the LUX wallet! This is a non-mandatory upgrade, so there is no fork or deadline to update. This wallet update includes improvements to the sync speed. As you may know, the last wallet update which introduced the RX2 algo also increased the sync time. This update includes optimizations to improve that significantly. While this is not a mandatory update, we do recommend you download the new wallet for optimal experience. Work continues on the codebase upgrade, so expect an update on that soon. Also ahead will be the launch of the new Luxcore website and new version of our white paper. Thank you for your patience and support! To download the new update, visit: https://github.com/LUX-Core/lux/releases/tag/v5.5.1Thank you!

Unfortunately, Coinbene has decided to de-list LUX (and some other projects) due to recent lack of trading volume. High trading volume is how exchanges make their money (after list fees of course).
We have reached out to Coinbene to discuss options and appeal their decision. Coinbene wasn't pushing LUX's price or trading volume to CoinMarketCap, so even though it was the largest liquid exchange for LUX, it wasn't doing LUX many favors gaining new investors. While we hope Coinbene reverses their decision, for now we would encourage the community to use TradeOgre or Bilaxy for trading LUX. TradeOgre has been a very reliable exchange with a low withdrawal fee and lots of positive feedback from the community.
Additionally, we plan to launch WLUX soon on Uniswap and other decentralized ETH exchanges, and down the road Luxgate will offer even more decentralized ways to trade LUX.
For now, Coinbene has told users to withdraw coins before 18:00 (GMT+8) on July 28, 2021. If you hold any LUX on Coinbene, we recommend you withdraw those to a wallet you control or move them to another exchange.
Thank you for your understanding!

Last month we told you about our plans to perform a codebase upgrade to get LUX's code up-to-date with some improvements and efficiencies as well as optimize some of the wallet code that benefits advanced users and the Luxcore web wallet. Progress for this upgrade is well underway so we thought it would be a good opportunity to give our community an update on where we are and whats ahead! Luxcore is excited to announce a new way to trade LUX! We are building a LUX ERC-20 Token Bridge to allow users to trade LUX on decentralized ERC-20 exchanges like uniswap, matcha, and others. This new token will bring accessibility and liquidity while we work to develop our core products and get more attention for this project. Obviously we are all anxious for Luxgate and we are hoping to get a public beta release at some point in the near future! But we also know many in our community and potential investors have wished LUX was listed on exchanges like uniswap. We hope this token will be a benefit to existing LUX investors and open the coin up to a much wider pool of potential investors who may not have utilized existing exchanges where LUX is listed. To read more about WLUX (the coming LUX token) check out our latest update https://medium.com/luxcore/announcing-lux-to-ethereum-erc-20-token-bridge-8bb941f4204cJust found this project and it seems worth watching. The trading volume in coinbene is not bad. Will check if this is worth mining. But has anyone already showed interest from the developers' side to utilize your LuxEdge product? Can you give some example of projects that are now using the LuxEdge? Please join our discord and send a messages to Arsonic or ask in a public channel. Well be happy to answer all your questions. https://discord.com/invite/ndUg9va

Now that RX2 has been released, we can start to talk more about our next updates. One thing on our top priorities list is a codebase upgrade. This upgrade will drastically improve the performance of our wallets (including the web wallet), improve our smart contract layer, and allow us to introduce cool new features. One feature we are excited to announce is Cold Staking! Check out our latest update to read more about the codebase upgrade and the new cold staking feature: https://medium.com/luxcore/luxcore-march-9-2021-codebase-upgrade-2bd0e23df334

Getting crashes for the Lux-qt core wallet. Can't use the application at all. When I add my wallet it crashes... A clean slate works, but if I try my backup wallet it doesn't work. Seemingly getting various errors. One is if I copy my old wallet into a new install: EXCEPTION: St13runtime_error GenerateNewKey: AddKey failed E:\LUXcoin\lux-qt.exe in Runaway exception Trying to import my old wallet also failed differently. Let us say if I am new here in this project, what is your edge over those top alts in the market? I don't see any new concept on this one. Just like a lot of alts. Combining PoS and PoW is not new. So what can you say to newcomers that you will offer to them that is not common to alts out there.
Please check out our website for our products and upcoming products. Thanks for the question. https://luxcore.io/(FYI, we are currently updating branding and logos, please bare with us)

LUX has successfully implemented a major fork at block 1612500. This fork brings with it the implementation of the new RX2 mining algorithm. RX2 should better balance mining to reward our long-term LUX miners and ensure the most fair distribution of mining rewards. This change benefits the entire LUX community as the new algorithm further secures the blockchain, helps safeguard LUX against price manipulation, and keeps LUX at the forefront of the crypto mining community. Check out the full update for how to update or fix your wallet if you have issues: https://medium.com/luxcore/luxcore-rx2-fork-success-5573d5f5f30aThe RX2 rollout is also a big milestone for the Luxcore team and with this implementation, we can finally refocus our attention to our core products. We will be sharing more about what we are working on in the coming weeks, so stay tuned! I just want to say thank you to our team who has shown real dedication to this project. Also, thank you to the community for your patience and support.

The windows wallet has been fixed, you can find there latest version on github : https://github.com/LUX-Core/lux/releases/tag/v5.5 , please redownload if your Windows wallet is stuck. If your local chain is corrupted, follow the reset guide in #how-to-guides , just updated the blockchain.zip for your convenience. Non-windows wallets dont need to be updated.

FYI, if your wallet got stuck at a block or you have any other issues with the fork, grab this bootstrap: http://luxcore.io/files/LUXblockChain.zipClose your wallet, delete the blocks, chainstate, and stateLux folders and the peers.dat file in your LUX data directory and use the files from the bootstrap zip above (refer to https://docs.luxcore.io/docs). That should get you past the fork and any bad peers causing issues. BACKUP YOUR WALLET.DAT & YOUR PRIVATE KEY BEFORE ANYTHING
