BlackJonny turned out to be a scammer: tried to get me to peel the coin and send him the private key, when I insisted on escrow he started a 3 way Google Hangouts conversation with a sock puppet account named "Miner Jones".

Thanks! As a naive newbie, my plan was just to receive to an address generated by Coinbase. Would you recommend looking up the transaction directly once it looks like it has arrived and checking the number of confirmations?

I totally get the concern about fakes and I messaged minerjones about having him do escrow. If the buyer prefers an in-person hand-off, is there anything for me as a seller to watch out for?
