1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ISR] Isracoin - The Israeli cryptocurrency - on: November 04, 2014, 06:33:34 PM
Hi, all

Me and a group of other crypto investors would like to get some details about the person(or people) who were taking care of the isracoin project in the past 1-3 months(we assume that the active members changed).

The more and more time passes, the more this project looks suspicious and we would like to know who is the person behind it in case this project will prove to be a scam project - I think people should know who was behind it, in case the same person will come with another "business plan".

We are going to try and get info from active bitcoin community members regarding if ISR really did make an announcement in the recent Israeli bitcoin conference

I personally believe that there should be zero tolerance attitude towards people who use cryptos to scam the public and clearly want to know what's the nature of this coin ( still not saying its a scam coin ).

Even if it was a failed coin... i would expect the dev to come out and say its failed and this way the investors and miners will know that it's over.

The lack of info shows lack of respect to the investors and supporters of the coin and I honestly think that the name of the person should be public. so people could take that into consideration before choosing to do business with such a person.

I'd be happy to get more info about the person(the one who was taking care of ISR in the past 3 months)  PM me

Thanks

P.S - Is there anyone in here who is able to check if a large amount of ISR moved from the ISR premine wallet?

I am 100% behind you on this and will do my best to help. The devs are absolutely ignoring the community. The beta website looks like absolute amateurish crap and there is no more news coming since the conference. From what the devs are saying it looks like they are working non-stop and super-hard on ISR when it actually looks like some side project of a student. I have spent months mining, hoping for ISR to take off and to support the idea of a country coin that seems to have a plan, but now I am more and more afraid that I have been WASTING electricity for months and months and the devs are just another bunch of scammers...

A vibrant on-line community and devs communicating with people is a basic requirement for any successful coin and ISR is failing that miserably....

Totally disagree with you!
To my understanding and judgment this is definitely not a scam coin.

I personally believe that the devs team did all the right things. This coin is highly developed there is
•   Desktop wallet (Obviously).
•   Online Exchange (Bittrex)
•   Mobile wallet for Android and iOS (not iOS native though).
•   Paper Wallet.
•   Sophisticated and well organized distributing system for Israeli citizens.
•   Social wallet and tipping system in Facebook.
•   Local Online Exchange for fiat Israeli currency.
•   Change stores in Israel (Not sure about that).

How many coins achieved so many features in so little time?
How many coins achieved so many features and infrastructure at all?

But there is some critical component that Isracoin does not have:
•   Luck (and the interest of the Israeli people, AKA: PR).

I've personally invested in this coin and I'm pretty upset watching it going the way it goes.
Nevertheless, luck and public interest can change any day, and since I believe in the devs, I'm not selling.

People are indeed afraid to stay in their homes alright, but not just in the past week, but at the last ten years on and off (mostly ON)!

Yeah fucking right..

Let's use ISR to fuck up Hamas!

Anyone with me?

No.

Let's instead use ISR to lower the cost of living of Israeli citizens and make a solid cryptocurrency with real life value Smiley

Amen.

FYI - Updates about the opening of Phase-II (which is happening right now) will be provided either in a few hours or later tonight both on the bitcointalk thread as well as the English version of the site.

Facebook identification process? wait to my "virtual friends" to confirm me? seriously?
Please add "the other option" as mentioned at the bottom ASAP before your coin is truly and officially is dead.

Yeah, someone sold 35,000 ISR for a ridiculously low price. Where does it come from? o.O

I'm thinking about buying some more while the price is so low?

Not yet.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ISR] Isracoin - The Israeli cryptocurrency on: May 28, 2014, 09:36:26 AM
the price is usually a question of demand vs. supply. Does the current demand outstrip the supply? I'm guessing not since the price hovers around one cent for a while now.

will the demand increase? I say it will. Slowly. each business accepting ISR will encourage more people to get their free ISR and spend them for goods or services. what can 100 cents buy ATM? that's what one dollar shops are for! make the website do a free delivery of those 100Isr gift items and it's already a start!

Well spoken porn0f1sh!

Please, do not get started pumping the dev about changing the plan. Coins quantity or air drop timing.
Be patient, slow and steady is the right way. But above all: maintain credibility.
Changing the plan as we go will take us right down the path of Spaincoin  Shocked

Cool i have a question.....is there a way to switch to X11 algo ?
If you see the market the x11 coins are sky high compared to scrypt and other coin.
X11 is the future algo because you are anonymous for real and this is what crypto is all about Smiley
Just a thought   Cool

Just for clarification:

X11 has some advantages, but anonymity is not one of them.
Darkcoin is using an algorithm (not POW, not open source) to make the transactions a bit more anonymous, and It's also using X11 as POW algo.
This fact doesn't make all X11 POW algo cryptocoins anonymous.

Suppose a large pool finds a block with very little or no bonus reward, the pool can old this block and try
to find another – with better bonus -  block.
when the pool operator  will see another block announced, he could try to announce his "bad" block hoping
for it to catch the other block.
Now, there might be more than one  smart-ass like this, so each time 3-4 blocks will be announced together
forking the blockchain.
There are no transcations without a roll bonus, so it is better (statistically) to announce solved block immediately  Smiley

You probably right!

That's why I referred to the issue as minor, theoretical one.
Furthermore, by the time the pool is trying to solve a new block for the same transactions
he can announce the block and find a new one...

In spite of this, this (very) little hole is still there... and it's bugging me  Roll Eyes
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LIRE][X11] ELECTRONIC LIRA - LAUNCHED! TWO EXCHANGE on: May 01, 2014, 08:34:18 PM
That was just a pre-launch value based on the total amount invested during the IPO. You're right, the coins should be worth much more (and hopefully they will be!)

Luckily, I understand this part, but the spread is just to high for a just-launched coin.
I can not Believe that someone will offer this price at any exchange any time soon
(or the IPO's will unload at the speed of light...  Grin).
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LIRE][X11] ELECTRONIC LIRA - LAUNCHED! TWO EXCHANGE on: May 01, 2014, 08:24:08 PM
Recording to the IPO results, the coin worth about 0.000002 BTC.
For me, to mine it at the current difficulty it should be worth about 0.001 BTC (500 times fold!).

What has changed?  Huh

it's ridiculous!
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][BDC]The birth of BLACK DRAGON COIN: unique scrypt-jane fantasy coin on: May 01, 2014, 07:03:29 PM
This scheme describes the system we already have for some time (tested etc), we wont change it.

No reason to move rewards 1 block further, nobody will choose to ruin the work that provides 100 coin rewards for the possibility to get a bit higher bonus (you even wrote about it!).

Actually there is a minor (maybe theoretical) issue with this thing, especially when it comes to large (manipulative) pools:

Suppose a large pool finds a block with very little or no bonus reward, the pool can old this block and try
to find another – with better bonus -  block.
when the pool operator  will see another block announced, he could try to announce his "bad" block hoping
for it to catch the other block.
Now, there might be more than one  smart-ass like this, so each time 3-4 blocks will be announced together
forking the blockchain.

CoinMiner10, please wait for the release and check our code Wink

You discribed almost the same thing that we implemented, the difference is that we use PoW hash instead of nonce to calculate the bonus  Cheesy

That's nice!  Cheesy

You know what? how about to eliminate the miner control over the bonus reward altogether?

for example, blocks: 100, 101, 102:
The miner address of block 100 will be rewarded by block 102 based on the nonce / hash of block 101.
(jumping one more block for full obscurity)

The bonus reward will be a complete surprise...  Roll Eyes
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Random reward suggestion on: May 01, 2014, 01:31:13 PM
I think it's a very neat idea to divide the reward into the current and the next block! (1)

But this random "dice roll" thing (2) might be a bit tricky to implement and could be exploit.
Continuing your line of thought (of reward block separation),
I have much more simple solution to this random thing. Why not use the nonce itself as a "dice roll"?

Take the given nonce of a previous block and use it as a base to calculate the bonus of the block finder (3).
For example if the nonce is 368234 you can calculate by simple module the extra reward (34 coins)!
One can argue that since the nonce is given by the miner, he might choose not to announce his block
if the reward is too low for him (like: 5801103, only 3 coins bonus at the next block).

I would disagree with that argument. Since he already invested the work to find the block,
he can choose to take the basic reward + small bonus, or try to find another block with larger
bonus but risking someone else announcing a block and leave him with nothing.
I would take the money and go…

PoS is definitely the way to go for national crypto-currency!
(As long as you distribute it evenly between the national citizens)  Cheesy

Miners across the world shouldn't mine 50% (or so) of the coins and speculate the price.

Good luck!

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPA] SpainCoin: freedom for Spain -MERCHANTS, CRYPTSY! -- UPDATE WALLETS!! on: April 11, 2014, 05:50:58 PM

Good morning my dear trolls, naysayers and whiners. It seems you're all together today, I see you're doing fine!  Smiley
We won't be giving away 5k or 10k SPA per person, more like 1k, 2k. But it will depend on the value at the time of the airdrop. And less in later stages.
It's a pity BTC and altcoins are going down at the moment (oh wait, they're not a "big big fail" too?), bad timing!

Other things: the airdrop software is almost done and ready, we'll be testing it with several people (1 SPA payouts from my own coins) later today.
The Spaincoin marketplace is coming soon too, we have to add some finishing touches to the software.

I've register to the site just for this comment: Stick to the original plan. It's a good one, and it's the best.
The Spaincoin price can jump ten times overnight, see the Isracoin case: https://www.bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-ISR

Think about those reasons:

  • You have to maintain your credibility. What's going to be the next move? Fork and adjust the maximum coins to 500 million? 5 billion? You had a good plan, stick to it.
  • What if the price will jump ten time fold? Take back 90%?
  • The motivation for the Spain citizens should be and will be the believe in the Decentralized by the people for the people money system. The gain of value of the Spaincoin at the near future, not a quick 50Euro gift.
  • The value in Euro doesn't matter. You should spread the coins for as many as you can for it to "Catch up" and succeed. Don't create just a few happy "Early adaptor" again. This is exactly what you've tried to avoid at the first place!
  • Right! 50 Spaincoin is only about 0.5 Euro right now, But think about how hard it is to get it if you not a miner or don't have any bitcoins you like to spend. Very hard! Most people wouldn't bother, But the people of Spain will register for it if they will get it for free with just a little hassle in a web registration. They are not getting 50 Euro or 0.5 Euro today, they may get  future currency of Spain.
  • If you still want Sapincoin to be the next currency of Spain, read paragraph 1 again and think about it.
