1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin better or paypal? on: February 06, 2016, 05:52:22 PM
Better for what? It really come down to who the parties are, their relationship,  the size of the transaction, whats being sold and a few other variables.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Take it from me: Bitcoin will NOT die in our lifetime. on: February 06, 2016, 05:34:51 PM
Bitcoin is already recognized as a payment method. The simple fact that we're using it demonstrates that.
And the fact that it can't be controlled by governments is the best part. You don't want Big Brother to meddle in it.

Exactly! And when the next fincial crisis hits, a lot of people are primed to move towards decentralization.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Europe wants end to anonymous Bitcoin transactions on: February 06, 2016, 05:31:26 PM
Today's world is very much against anonymous transactions and everyone is against it at least countries view, I don't think they will be able to though.

Russia is trying. Its not working.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping people from using bitcoin? on: February 06, 2016, 05:30:08 PM
Stop and imagine you need to pay someone say $2000 that painted your house or performed another service.

And you wanted to pay them in BTC

And they heard of BTC and have no problem with the concept but never used it before

When you realize what you have to do - the explaining, the convincing, the handhold, how much time it takes you get them onboard and how much time it takes them to go through the process and have it converted to fiat in there hands.....

Until this is streamlined......

Good point. Not everyone wants to be her own bank, just like not everyone wants to be her own brain surgeon. Because time-consuming, nontrivial tasks.

The good news is that the process is being streamlined. When I can tell this person to register for an ATM online, got to the convenience store and
withdraw the cash then things will get moving.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Take it from me: Bitcoin will NOT die in our lifetime. on: February 05, 2016, 08:58:32 PM
It is possible that Bitcoin will die just look at what happened to e-gold, I remember having an e-gold account and then they suspended use of e-gold. I think that's the reason why Bitcoin was born.

Bitcoin is not an "account" and it cannot be suspended , It's decentralized and it's not controlled by people. If you ask me the only thing that may kill bitcoin is the shitty exchanges and their "we got hacked" scenarios ,  unless people decide to wake up and stop using them .

As dencentralized exchanges rise, virtual currencies become more un-stopable...
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Europe wants end to anonymous Bitcoin transactions on: February 05, 2016, 08:55:55 PM
everyone CHILL OUT

its not about bitcoin.
its about unregulated exchanges that handle FIAT

they are not going after bitcoin-core to start demanding users hand over ID, its purely exchanges that handle FIAT unregulated.

so chill out, its not an attack on bitcoin

Today it is unregulated FIAT exchanges and tomorrow they decide to close down regulated exchanges that allows for Bitcoin trading. We will have to

find a way for these services to survive, no matter what these organizations decide to do. Let's say, they want to advance their own Blockchain

technology and then regulate these exchanges to deny Bitcoin... It can happen, and it will happen as soon as their technology are completed.

I think franky1 is too optimistic and you're too pessimistic.

If their goal was to delegalize Bitcoin, this EC proposal would be the stupid thing to start with. Because once there's no anonymity they'll have no good reason to ban Bitcoin.

The main reason behind this is not to eliminate anonymity, it is to eliminate the competition. They will come up with some sort of excuse to just ban

Bitcoin and not other Crypto currencies that adhere to their criteria. The government backed Crypto currencies will get the edge and they would get

a good advantage. The reason why they stalling with regulation is, because the currencies they want to support are not fully developed yet. Once these

"private ledgers" are ready, you can bet your bottom dollar, they will try to ban all the other Crypto currencies that does not adhere to their

requirements.  Angry

Who is going to want govt crytpo? its CENTRALIZED! Same as fiat.

15  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: AVOID ZIPZAP! THIEVES AND IDIOTS on: August 17, 2014, 06:43:35 PM

Apparently ZipZAP has a history of this type of activity -  see BBB report F Rating[/size]

http://www.bbb.org/greater-san-francisco/business-reviews/payment-processing-service/cashpaymentcom-in-san-francisco-ca-381361

According to the BBB report the company has not even responded to several complaints made just like they have treated you and the other guy that posted a similar complaint
to the ZipZap Facebook page.

Makes you wonder how many people have been burned by them and said nothing?

They portray themselves as big time but act like a small time enterprise.  If they don't clean up their act they could go the way of Mt. GOX.  This is a defining moment for them.
