Most foundations have been setup when coins have been scams or dev anonymous we fortunate enough not to have either of these problems.
I agree, this coin has no reason to create a foundation to prove the legitimacy of the dev team. I completely trust Rijk and know for sure he will handle the pre-mine with utmost integrity.
The suggested foundation (or any other legal entity for that matter) is to secure the assets of Gulden (Premine and websites) for future growth. Not only to protect them against unforeseen threats like Rijk (who's address is publicly known) being robbed or maybe gets involved in legal stuff like a divorce, but also to have a legal entity that can represent those assets.
You see, once Gulden starts to grow, we are going to run into situations like we had recently with the lack of an official legal entity to get our IOS in the App Store, more frequent. When we setup such a legal entity now, we are prepared for those things by the time things get busy.
Don't mistake the suggested foundation to be a central entity that gets control over any development or decision for Gulden. It's just a legal entity that serves the community by acting on it's behalf. It will have no saying or vote on anything, just the obligation to do what we, the community want it to do.
For obvious reasons I would want Rijk to take place in it's board and maybe someone like WaterLooDown as well. I myself on the other hand will not. Not because I won't take up the responsibility or because I want to avoid people saying I'm out to be in control. I do not want to sit in the board because I have commercial plans with Gulden and that would raise unnecessary doubts about conflict of interests that could ultimately damage Gulden.
+100. These are all legitimate concerns. Could the dev team comunicate if these legal things are taken care of, or will be taken care of in the future?
