1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.10.0 on: April 02, 2021, 02:03:45 PM
When does the mission to place a physical Doge coin on the moon launch? I want to make sure to have the popcorn ready!
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 5.5c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux) on: March 19, 2021, 11:47:57 PM

I used to test latency times the old fashioned way using ping.exe util but this is not very accurate way as stratum is not same as tcpip right, its like on its own layer..

Ping uses ICMP packets, not TCP/IP packets. ;-)
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Shitcoins to Mine? on: March 19, 2021, 05:51:49 PM
The ghost of shitcoins of the past such as Weedcoin, Stablecoin, and Chinacoin all ask me to tell you that mining shitcoins is a crap shot. If I'd dedicated those cycles to Coblee's little project instead of thinking "If only I mined a shitcoin!' I'd have had about twice the LTC I ended up with, which was enough for me to finance a new life and take a two year vacation at the end of 2017. If I'd mined twice as much, I'd still be drinking on a beach or mountaintop somewhere.

Don't mine shitcoins, kids.

Search the board here and I'm sure you'll probably find someone from each of the manufacturers you're interested in with an account. Use an escrow service for your purchase if possible, or use a credit card with fraud protection like you would for any other large purchase on credit.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining - Am I better off inventing time travel? on: March 04, 2021, 03:32:13 PM
So much FUD. You people do realize there are better ways to make a profit than to push weak hands out the door, right? regardless of your pick of coin, the blockchain gets more valuable and more robust the more people and nodes are on it.

GPU miners out there, I'm with you.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining - Am I better off inventing time travel? on: March 02, 2021, 08:02:38 PM
Thanks for the replies and discussion. I'm probably nuts, but I've decided to jump back in with a GPU machine or two powered off grid. Now if I can only find some video cards..
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Tahiti GPUs (Radeon 7950 / 7970 / 280X / 7990 ) Owners Appreciation Thread on: March 01, 2021, 05:48:34 PM
I mined all my LTC using 7950's, they absolutely rocked back in 2013. Heated my basement too!
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New 10 KW Solar Mining Project on: March 01, 2021, 05:30:00 PM
As an engineer I used to design back up power solutions that ensured 100% uptime for my offices and remote locations. 100% solar/off grid with 24x7x365 reliability is entirely within reason with proper design & operational controls.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / GPU mining - Am I better off inventing time travel? on: March 01, 2021, 05:06:55 PM
I mined LTC and a few other scrypt coins back in 2013-2014 using a small GPU based farm and am now thinking about jumping back into mining after a few years off; is it nucking futs to want to rock a GPU farm for a few solves again, or has the supremacy of ASIC's really made this insane to consider even IF I had a zero cost power solution?

What says you, bitcointalk?
