I'm a bit sad the devs refused to admit they had no intention to stay, even though it was obvious.

I'm still here, if you consider me a dev. Lol I just help make small things, like profit calculators, p2pool networks, block explorer, bountyboard and most recently the backend for a poker site that allows MYR to be used as poker chips. It's not released yet though, as the guy setting things up is having trouble with his server hardware. We hope to have something by the end of next month.

So yeah, we're all still here, even if we've grown a little silent.

Bird,

Why did you give up on DGB? Seems like what you're doing is a natural for DGB as well. Sure did appreciate your efforts while you were with us and miss not having them now.

Best regards,

HR

I gave up on DGB because of a combination of things... No one really bothered mining on my nodes after a while, I hate how the difficulty is extremely high most of the time, and honestly it was annoying having an extra 5-6 VMs to look after. It did not make for happy reboots. All that and it was time consuming to maintain my MYR services and a duplicate set of services for DGB. So I decided to stick with my roots.

no wallet. Huh

Get it from here on github;

https://github.com/unitusdev/unitus/releases/tag/0.9.3.1

This coin is going places. Wallet works flawlessly.  Smiley

Sure the wallet works, but what happened to the website and block explorer..?

Also, why did the qubit difficulty jump from ~5 to 266?!
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: MintPal / Moolah Scam - 335 BTC Reported Missing So Far on: October 15, 2014, 02:53:58 PM
Lost 24500 MYR... Not a terribly large amount, but the site literally went down as I was withdrawing... Bright side for me is that I withdrew my .53 BTC that I had sitting around in there since the upgrade

I'm still in shock that Dogecoin went from being worth have as much as MYR, to TWICE as much. Like wtf, what happened?

So just now I decided it was time for me to upgrade to the new wallet with coin control so I could send off the 100k coins that I've managed to accumulate through p2pool (Thousands of tiny inputs!!!) and after failing a quick search on reddit I came to the ANN post over here. Man, I was impressed. The thing is huge and filled with pretty pictures showing off how far we've come. If I was an investor (Disclaimer: Already holding 4+ million coins) that didn't know about Myriad, I would definitely take a second look after seeing the depth of that post. Best part is that I remember when most of that news first came out Smiley

lol I like how you have 4M+ coins and you've never looked at the original post in ANN.

birdonwheels, a person who does his research Tongue

5m as of right now Smiley

I got all my info off of reddit. I only started reading through posts here when I figured out that you guys were talking about stuff in here and I felt like I was missing out... Plus, I can't get enough MYR news lol

The reason you aren't getting any payout is because there's no one else mining with you on groestl Sad

You should really try qubit, as there's more hash there (although it may take some time before you actually find a share).

That's right. There needs to be a block found before there's a payout . . . and if you're the only one mining (virtual solo mining as it would be), then the entire block reward is yours! The flip side is that it might be a while before you hit pay dirt.

Great job you've been doing with your pools Bird. Excellent work.

And now, the real reason for this post: you know, my only problem with Qubit is that my cards heat up quite a bit; the energy consumption doesn't budge from the optimized myriad-groestl level, but the cards heat up a bunch and my fan speeds hit 70% or so to keep them at their 80º target. What's your experience?

Thanks! Gotta love maintenance.

Hmm, it shouldn't be getting that hot with Qubit. Are you using the sphminer or Max's M8M miner? His miner ramps the temps up quite a bit more than the sphminer.

Recently I noticed my cards running at about 70C, when they normally run at about 60C. So I took the air gun and dusted out my rig.... And made a huge cloud of dirt/dust. That might be your problem as well :p

It's been like that for a few weeks. You might want to try using my block explorer instead at http://birdonwheels5.no-ip.org

But please note that it seems to be a little behind on syncing... I'll be looking into it when I get home from class in a couple hours.

Edit: Block explorer should be all fixed. Nevermind, I still need to work on it.

Thanks for your answer MaxDZ8

I have bee mining on birdspool now for about 12 hrs - on 2 separate computers - lots of "accepted" 97% and 98.7%.  Doing the GroestlCPU64 on both as this is only one that works for me?

still not 1 MYR in either wallet?

Maybe I wait 24 hrs and see what happens

the birdspool seems to be selected auto by Simplicity?

Is it a good pool? and can you change pools in Simplicity?

Had a 3rd computer and tried setup of simplicity - dont work - but other 2 mining fine - just no payout which defeats the purpose really

but I have to say the SIMPLICITY is a very nice piece of work to get newbies started on mining - just has to pay out though at some stage?

is the Electrum wallet auto linked to the miner?  I see no setup for this?
Yes it is! They somehow pull a wallet out of electrum. At least that was the case for 0.2.
It's a bit of magic.
If so - how often might you expect a deposit to the wallet?

I have lots of "accepted" YAY etc - but not one single MYR in the wallet?
It depends on the pool. You should be getting something every time the pool solves a block. The payouts will start small and grow, I'd say you should mine at least one hour. You will continue getting some MYR after you stop mining.

For P2pool (as simplicity uses) you should be getting coins at least once per day. The pool I use finds a few blocks per hour.

It's not like you can stay there counting the seconds but it's a fairly fast process. I once have been credited in a matter of minutes ( Huh ) for 2 minutes of mining. I wasn't expecting that.

That said, if you're reading this and still got nothing, either you have mined very little or you have a problem!

The reason you aren't getting any payout is because there's no one else mining with you on groestl Sad

You should really try qubit, as there's more hash there (although it may take some time before you actually find a share).

The solution to the problem where you cannot send coins mined either from solo or p2pool (tx rejected by network) is to enable coin control in the wallet options, then select all inputs, and deselect any that have under 100 confirmations. The wallet is configured to look at everything as needing only 8 or so confirmations, while this is no longer true. 100 confirmations are needed for newly generated coins. The wallet attempts to send them with under 100 confirms, and the network obviously rejects them.

Ugh, the stupid miner crashed for the night while I was mining skein... And I can't get down in the basement to reboot... Ugh 12 hours of wasted time. Costs me 34 cents to run the thing while it's frozen Sad

Just venting my frustrations lol

Bird,

Just a heads up (or maybe a question as to why), but your Groestl pool has recently been making weird payouts that don't include all the miners currently mining.

Three recent examples are blocks
149981
http://insight.dgb.cryptopoolmining.com/block/0d03fd75bee18864fcaa97457da1defd54e8f75fde8e9ef260f00aa2027440ed
(where there was only one address paid to that isn't even mining)

150240
http://insight.dgb.cryptopoolmining.com/block/dd1f60e865d52fdc02561af3a5367d70a55ff51e9ed76eaae11fb620e38c4faa
(two addresses that aren't mining either)

150452
http://insight.dgb.cryptopoolmining.com/block/1230681f657d4bf2d0d6907bbad7e7c1e540065c9b8281378d8a5212e49b3add
(same two as above that aren't mining)

What's up with this?

...:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::...

On another note, just for fun I took a peek at address D96y4y74NUegfYJ8yn9chxbPLrRiypCF6V and there's been around 40 payouts to that same address since block 150452, and almost always the same exact amount: 6117.69330151 DGB, and those are not coming from Bird's Pool.

Huh

The D96y4y74NUegfYJ8yn9chxbPLrRiypCF6V address massive payout looks like a possible red flag to immediately investigate. Almost a quarter a million DGB in a couple of hours!!!

Add: Another 61,000 or so in the last 30 minutes - at that rate, the take down would be just shy of 3 million a day (or almost 14% of theoretical production and 20% of actual discovery). Could that really be legit? With the payouts I saw from Bird's pool that should have gone to other addresses, I seriously doubt it.

Add 2: It's all Groestl and Crypto Hunger has got the hashrate to do this ( http://cryptohunger.com:81/tbs ) the sporadic payouts suggest this might be the case. But, the 2 payouts from Bird's pool? Orphans?

Wow, if that's the case, we're getting a concentrated hashrate issue due to someone not releasing all of his "proprietary" code . . .

Monopolization is a real issue in a supposedly decentralized crypto world.

Add 3:     srcxxx, I've sent you a PM alerting you to the fact that your proprietary pool currently, as of this writing, has over 50% of the DGB Groestl hashrate.

I think those blocks were found by someone else before our p2pool. Not sure about the 2 addresses, but it could be a private p2pool that someone set up? Because I haven't received any large payments in the past day or two.

If you guys haven't noticed, I've fixed the Skein node last night. It was having issues contacting the daemon for some reason. I updated the sharechain, and now it works. There's 4 GH/s on there, so there's pretty low variance!

Is there a way to see what the network hash rate for each algo is?  Relatively speaking, how much hash is pointed at sha256 for instance compared to qubit?

I am just really curious to see if there is an algo that is favored by the miners compared to another.

Not sure how accurate it is, but you can see the net hash for all the NEW algos (not scrypt) at http://birdonwheels5.no-ip.org/dgb-hub/

Also, tomorrow I'll be updating the rest of my website to reflect the Digibyte P2pool nodes + source code, and changing to Myriad logo on the node hub to the Digibyte logo (Didn't have time to change it a mist the chaos lol). However, I don't know if I'll ever get around to setting up an insight block explorer (Since someone else already made it... Unless that person is kind enough to share the networks file), but I might be able to get a richlist up... Eventually. Thing is, college is starting in 2 days, so I'm going to be tight on time. And since there isn't a bounty or anything... There's not too much incentive other than the curiosity of seeing how big your whales are :p

Anyways, I'm going to leave my miners mining on qubit for the night and see how much I earn. Have fun mining, guys!

birdonwheels5, I will sent you tomorrow (or later on today, as it's already 04:30 now) the networks file for insight  Wink

Thank you!

Actually, if you could let me know how you got the algos to display... That'd be great for my MYR explorer. You wouldn't happen you be good at node.js... Would you? I have a little something on the MYR explorer that needs doing, and one of our devs needs some help getting a node.js web wallet going

Alright! All nodes are now online (thanks to multiple user accounts and different ports on each wallet).

Pool addresses are:

stratum+tcp://birdspool.no-ip.org:[port]

Ports:

SHA: 5011
Groestl: 5021
Skein: 5031
Qubit: 5041

Happy P2Pool mining!!!

Edit: Forgot to mention, they're all 0.5% fees! Just connect with your DGB address as your username, and use anything you want for the password.

Pools pay out immediately!

I am pwning your qubit pool right now. Smiley  I saw the connection go down. Looks like you have it under control.

Yeah, sorry about that. My internet connection went out for a sec, and I had to go in the basement to reboot the modem lol

Thanks for mining with us! I noticed we were finding tons of blocks Smiley
