1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FLAP] FlappyCoin ★ REBIRTH ★ on: April 21, 2014, 08:56:16 PM

Is this the official build we are all moving too? I don't feel comfortable updating a pool to a github that is just posted by a random person.

you don't trust "thimo" and called him random person but you allow his coin (slothcoin) to be mined on your pool? this is a community and we should trust each other! the miner trusted you and your pool because you are listed on the 1st post so don't act like you own the coin!

He isnt acting like he owns the coin, he has a duty to protect the people mining on his pool. If he updates to this fork and then it turns out to be all bluster and no balls, he then has to explain to all his users why they have been wasting hash power on a make believe chain. If you think like a pool owner, you can see why he has some serious issues with this. Someone with no access to the website, the github or any discernible link to any of the original devs posts an updated wallet that will cause a hard fork on this coin without bothering to inform him (someone whose pool has something like 35% of the total network hash) and then gets arsey when called up on it?

It would be a negligent pool owner to just update blindly and hope for the best.

flappycoin, can you please edit the 1st page of this thread so it doesn't say released April 18th next to the 2.0.1 wallet? That is going to confuse exchanges if I reach out to them and they check this page.
And we wonder why I am so annoyed here?
I posted almost 4 times before you guys released this new source about how I had no clue what github we were on and how no one knows what source we are supposed to be using.
This is still the case.
Is this coin called flapcoin now?
https://github.com/FlapCoin/flapcoin
That is what it is according to whatever this github supposedly is.

That isnt even the original github, this is: https://github.com/flappycoin-project/flappycoin
No. It's still flappycoin.

The correct fork/github is flapcoin due to at the time we we're rebranding. But we no longer need rebranding as old devs came back and gave over rights. We didn't have access to certain things and still don't, so the correct github fork is flapcoin.

https://github.com/FlapCoin

We can and will change the name back once we get all areas under control. We have been given full control of 90% of material, old devs still wanted to wait before changing over one or two other things for the full take over and switch over.

I don't want to fight and I am sorry moonpool if no one contacted you. But we can't do this, not now. A week ago we could of argued like cats and dogs, but after the delay and issues it's important to get this tested and out/have everyone on board.
lol.
"rebranding" is the new word for hijack I guess? That didn't go well so you had to stick with flappycoin?
Hmmm.
90%? What on earth does that even mean?
I seriously don't see what the hell you guys are trying to do here, looks like you are trying to kill it even more than it already was.

I believe we may be having a communication problem.

What was said: We we're doing rebranding for a hostile take over. However old developers came back, liked our ideas, couldn't do the work any more and decided to give over control. So that means rebranding is no longer needed.

...so you were going to hijack, got stopped, old devs cant be fucked with it anymore and 'gave you control' but didnt bother giving you the website or the github.

If you cant work out why people have a problem with this, you have bigger problems than arguing with moonpool over here.

You've just released an update that will hard fork without even bothering to get guarantees that over half the network will update along with it, and then go on to admit that you are going to need help from some dogepool owners and possibly go cap in hand to multipools to see it through, and you cant work out why the guy with one of the larger pools is a bit pissed off?

Its wildly optimistic at best, grossly negligent at worst. Running to the multi's to see this through will kill your little revival dead, because they will dump dump dump until it really is worth less than nothing. 3 weeks of closed conversations and a bit of posting in here is not good communication, making bitchy reddit posts and instructing people to dump his pool is beyond childish, even if he is sounding off in here.
