1  Other / Beginners & Help / Start out using OTC - & otc trader contacts on: November 08, 2013, 10:35:03 PM
Would welcome any suggestions as I'm a newbie wishing to try OTC trades? MtGox is safer (so they say) but the time lags in the system are not attractive - to me anyway.

I see several comments on OTC site saying such and such trader "helped me buy my first Bitcoin". Suggests there is a way to contact the seller (maybe I missed it but don't see email address for them)! Perhaps a btc client can send signed messages to an otc person? If so can it be done with qt client?
Thanks for any help.
2  Other / Beginners & Help / location of block chain on disc on: April 11, 2013, 05:04:42 PM
I installed bitcoin-qt on D: partition rather than C: because space on C: is tight.  Smiley  I hoped the entire structure would also end up on D: as well as the .exe etc. However no such luck. The blockchain and some other files (about 8Gb's worth) all still ended up on C:. Did I miss some option during installed? Or, is there a way to relocate the blockchain for my existing install (so I don't have to download the entire blockchain again?
Thanks
3  Other / Beginners & Help / very new - a good starting appreciated on: July 04, 2011, 01:20:35 PM
So far I've done some background reading, downloaded and installed a bitcoin client and it runs fine.
Certainly exercises the disc drive - seems it has to DL all previous transactions.
I don't pretend to know what I'm doing yet  Roll Eyes
At the moment I can't get a handle on how to actually generate bitcoins in the first place. So just to ask some kind soul
for a starting point as to the overall picture here.
thanks vm
