No blocks found in the last 4 hours but miner keeps hashing and sending shares.
What source are you looking at for that information? Web page shows plenty of blocks found. Last block found was 4h ago. |

Good coin by idea, bad coin by maintenance but I'm not complaining  Good because Heavycoin has received all the maintenance it has required so far. and we will continue to maintain it. There have been no bugs and the coin has handled huge swings in difficulty without getting stuck or needed a hard fork. That's very good for a coin that is not a copy and paste and actually experiments with several new ideas. For those suggesting the idea that the devs should override the democratic aspect of Heavycoin and taper the block reward, you are going to be very disappointed. This is not "maintenance" and such development won't be happening because it would go against Heavycoin's democratic principle of having the block reward decided by decentralized block reward voting. It's entirely sensible for current miners to mine as much as possible before the limit phase, if that's what they have democratically decided. For all those who want to fork the HEFTY1 cryptographic hash and get the power savings advantages. We don't mind as that serves as a form of promotion for Heavycoin. Stay tuned for an upcoming anoucement from our new head of marketing and promotion. By "maintenance" i think he was refering to support from the dev team. Writing a post every few days is crucial. As you said the coin did not have any technical issues and that imo speaks alot in your favor, but either you or someone from the devteam should keep things alive in this post, twitter, etc... Let's all help out the new head of marketing and promotion and spread the annoucement. |

It's nice to see the dev is still around About the votes i have a question: Can the pool operators put a restriction on miners with votes higher than say... 10. Not accepting shares with a vote higher than the set number? Probably it will be better to implement directly into Hefty1 algo, something like.. if the value of the coin < 2000 satoshi, the max vote will be < 50 Sure, if the dev changes the voting in the algo that's always better, but in case he does not want to change it, maybe we could use the pools to "fix it". Dunno if it's possible, any pool operator around? |

Who is killing it?
The voting is HVC's problem and it's the +500 votes that are killing it, IMO. I turned my rig back on HVC with a 0 vote. Curious to see if it makes a difference now that there are less people mining it. It's clear that the devs will maintain HVC but not do much more. The community is very much in the wheelhouse on this one. Cool ideia on paper... not so great on reality.

anyone willing to resurrect it? I really like HVC as a coin, the "cooler" mining and the fact it has a miner that kicks ass on nvdia cards... but without leadership it won't go very far. Needs more merchants to accept it, needs more buzz around it. I'm holding some hvc because i'm hoping it gets a pump someday |
