--snip--
We'll be announcing some top brands in the coming days. I'd love to take feedback from you guys. If there are some features, merchants you'd like us to add, do let me know!

With UPI payments, buying bitcoin with INR is a breeze. No bank account pairing is required since we do not plan to have sell to INR option yet  (We could down the line). Hence, bitcoin can only be withdrawn from your GoSats wallet to a bitcoin address or even to a lightning network invoice.
Thanks for your reply. I fudged up your registrant information and have edited that post based on @webtricks reply. Here are a few questions:

1.) What kind of user info will you need for legal compliance, if any?
2.) Is saffroncoin your old venture? How was the experience?

User can shop by just an email/mobile number. For buying bitcoin using INR, KYC is required.

Saffroncoin was the first cryptocurrency from India, pioneered a lot of technologies.

3  Local / India / Re: Bitcoin Ban Means India Will Get More Corrupt Under Modi — Tim Draper on: November 12, 2019, 09:19:36 AM
Ignorance of government officials about the crypto currencies made cryptos were banned by banks, still they are not trying to figure out what are the benefits of allowing it,they just want to shut down then they say can we are corruption free country. Grin

Modi may not have time to analyse these things because he is busy with exploring the world. Roll Eyes

Maybe in the next election they will talk about this.Because Ayodhya issue has been resolved so playing it will no more possible.

To educate the govt and the people of this country, we are putting across the first crypto focussed conference in India. It's going to take place in Bangalore from Jan 9-Jan 11, 2020 for the anniversary of bitcoin's genesis block.

Most events that happen in India are only blockchain based without the crypto aspect of it. This is creating a negative image for crypto.

Do register for the conference and shoot me up if you have any queries.

To the DEV

Please don't kill of this great coin by making it a TOKEN.

All the current coin needs is a few pools, and a little advertising.

I've been in crypto many years, and my thoughts are that most "old coins" that become "Tokens" die, and usually, very quickly.

J

It wouldn't be a token. It will have its own blockchain and consensus method. It will reform to being a smart blockchain that provides interoperability of blockchains for decentralized transfers and payments. Saffron will be the currency for the ecosystem that is being built around it.

Hello Community,

It's great that the thread is getting active. I had written an earlier post on how certain circumstances could not push the development of this project.
We envisioned some of the smartest protocols such as SFRDirect which was supposed to help create smart tokens easily before the launch of turing complete blockchains. We had also proposed the biggest feature of all- ORION (Interoperability of Blockchains). This is the biggest trend in crypto today. We were years ahead in our technological vision for the industry.

The good news is that Saffroncoin is in the process of pursuing its earlier vision. The "coin" is dropped and the project is rebranded as "Saffron".

Giving a gist of the platform, it will be a smart blockchain, focused only on payments and decentralised exchanges of tokens using our underlying technology - Orion which will be built using Cosmos.

Someone pointed out that we have newly registered this company. That's true. We are in the process of securing a strong development team and funding.

In short, Saffron will be the "Consensys" for all payment-related applications.

We are working out on a mechanism on how to swap the existing Saffroncoins to the new Saffron tokens.

There is no ICO bullshit but we might end up doing an IEO(maybe).

We hope once Indian regulations come by, Saffron will be the primary crypto for payments in India and neighbouring countries.

One thing to note, Saffron in no way will compete with other cryptos to become the next bitcoin or ethereum. That kind of language will not be spoken by our team. We believe there is enough space in the ecosystem for innovation and we provide a niche solution to a specific problem.

Token of appreciation to those that stuck around, exciting times ahead.

I'll be keeping you all updated.

Cheers

In this case there is no need to mine this coin using the old codes?, just hold on to our dear saffroncoin and wait for the swap of new tokens?.
I'm planning to setup a mining poll and nodes but I lost all my notes on my hard drives.

The more coins that's available to swap, the more Saffron tokens you would get.

8  Local / Marketplace (India) / Apnacrypto- India's Blockchain Wallet | Lightning Network Payments on: June 15, 2019, 08:27:27 PM
Hello Hodlers,
Say hello to your new home. Safeguard yourselves from exchanges and 3rd party wallet hacks. Have complete control over your crypto. It's your crypto.

Introducing your personal blockchain wallet. An app on your phone, the private keys of which you have. Create different wallets for various needs. Need an easy-to-use hot wallet for instant transfer of funds or a long term multi-signature secured wallet? You decide and create unlimited wallets.

Register yourself for a beta invite on https://www.apnacrypto.com

We are brewing some awesome stuff and can't wait to showcase it to you. We'll keep you updated with all that's happening. Do join our social media channels:

it's your crypto. You are in the driver's seat. No depending on XYZ to withdraw your funds. You have complete control. The blockchain technology provides us that freedom. We are making crypto easy to securely store and use without bothering about those nasty exchange/wallet hacks.
It's YOUR personal wallet. Hence, "Apnacrypto".

Storage

Securely store your crypto tokens on your phone/tablet. The private keys never leave your device.
Finding it a little complicated? All these words to store, what if you lose your device? No worries. You can always securely backup your wallet and also have the option of creating a multi-signature wallet that requires more than 1 authorizer to withdraw funds from your account, immensely increasing the security of your assets.

For some of you that are new to crypto, this all might be jargon:- multi-signatures and private keys. We realise that (we've all been there) and hence also provide you the option of securely storing your wallet with us on our servers. No private keys and storage involved. Just a simple email and password. This is definitely not recommended for larger amounts and defeats the purpose of financial sovereignty. However, this is the most easiest way to get started since crypto can get complicated. That complexity shouldn't come in the way for you to explore and be a part of this ecosystem. You can anytime upgrade to advanced wallets.
We are always around to help you. We are the crypto experts.

Payments

Now that you have crypto, how about actually using it. You can easily send it across to your friends, family and also retail/online merchants. Now isn't that awesome? We are partnering up with merchants to provide you the opportunity to make use of your crypto.

Lightning Network

This is something super cool. A proposal to make micro-payments and to make bitcoin scalable. We are one of the earliest pioneers of this technology enabling lightning-fast micro-payments. Now paying for that cup of coffee with those few satoshis lying around in your wallet is a reality.

...

I was always a fan of Saffroncoin because of the interesting wallet features. The nodes I posted upthread back in 2018 don't seem to be working for me anymore. Any new nodes I can put in my conf file?

No, some of them seems working. Maybe you'll find more here: http://coinofview.com/coin/Saffroncoin.html

Thanks!

In case anyone else needs them, I found these nodes on that site and was able to get a connection and sync:

That's great!

Would you know of any mining pools still operational?

Hello,

It has been a very long time. Circumstances haven't done well for this token. We had amazing support. We were among the top currencies and it was saddening to see the demise.

However, over these years, we've been building a suite of services to make Saffroncoin the brand it was meant to be. Saffroncoin will be back with a lot more use-cases than random blockchain jargon.

We set the standards for blockchain payments. Our wallet was the most feature-packed wallets back in the day.

We will continue to stick to the goal of increasing crypto adoption in the world and show how one day the world will get tokenised.

To all those, that stuck around, thank you. Your efforts will not go in vain.

I'll be releasing something exciting soon.

Do watch this thread.

Cheers,

Roshan

What about those who lost thousands (if not 10s of thousands, like I did) $ by supporting the coin, mining it and not dumping it back in the days? What if their wallets are now gone? I remember that I had some 200-300k coins which went in the toilet, because you abandoned the project. The fact that you are coming back after years of absence should not make us happy, but even angrier.

I wish you all the best...

Investments are an individual thing. I don't think anybody can be blamed. Investments into all cryptocurrencies or stocks or commodities etc. are an individual choice.
We all lost a lot of money on a lot of different things over the years. The project was never abandoned. There was lack of funding in building a bigger team and I was supporting it as much as I could until it became more than I could handle.
The crypto market is mo mature now and we have the resources to build stronger use-cases.

Yes, you are right, but you can also come out and say that you can no longer support the project, instead of disappear in silence. Probably some of us would have helped.

I've had a high opinion about you, but I believe you shouldn't be trusted. Sorry, but that's the hard cold truth.

Cheers!

I do respect all opinions.

Thanks

We are starting off with India and are building an amazing payments solution. I can't hardly understand what you are saying. And all of your 84 post on this board were nonsense.

At least I tried my best to help the community.... And you?Huh?

Cheers.

1. You don't seem capable of reading 84 whole posts (or understanding that 84 activity is not 84 posts).
2. Having wasted the hashrate to mine nearly 40% of all blocks, for months now, I've done more than my share of keeping the coin active on the exchange.
3. If you learn to read English, you'll have an easier time reading my 200+ posts.
4. BLOW ME!

Ahhh i missed bitcointalk. Missed all the FUD and nonsensical posts.

Hey guys,

Apologies for all that's been happening with SFR. I agree there has been zero public activity regarding it. But this project is definitely not abandoned.
I would like some help with PR to get the coin back and running and also a roadmap put down by the community on what this currency should include and where we would like to see this currency go.
The blockchain is working fine.
I am going to fix the wallet and website and get it rolling.

It seems bittrex has delisted the currency. It would be huge help if you guys could contact them and have it added again.

Thanks

The best thing you can do to get the coin relisted is for you to talk to Bill directly - I've been dealing with this myself over the XSEED market and he wants to talk to an active developer who can articulate the plans for the project so he can evaluate whether it'll make sense for them to keep it going until the volume picks up.

My understanding is that Bittrex is currently being vetted by either investors and/or regulators who are picking apart their business and are pushing them to dump any markets that are unprofitable. But they seem able to be at least a little flexible on this point IF they can talk to the developer and get a good sense of their plans.

Hope that helps.

I have been talking to Bill. Demand will ensure the coin to be listed again.

This new exchange known as bitsmart that has SFR/INR pair is not developed/monitored by the SaffronCoin team. It could well be a photoshopped image.

If any community member is developing this, we will provide support. Do understand the risk involved in trading at new exchanges.
